Loot City

Loot City

Loot city is a very relaxed and enjoyable game, it takes a little bit to get used too the controls but after that its great. the game also doesn’t just fly by, you have to explore the whole map collecting cash and keys to complete your objective. shooting tanks, cops and armoured trucks while collecting cash was more enjoyable then i thought and i felt accomplished after putting the work into beating the game. overall, i had a great time playing Loot city and it was fun to play around with all the different characters.

Aquanox Deep Descent

Aquanox Deep Descent

Aquanox Deep Descent is the attempt to revive an older franchise. It began with a game named Archimedean Dynasty, released in 1996. 2 Sequels followed, under the new brand name of Aquanox.

All of those games were quite similar to the “three degrees of freedom” space simulation games that came up roughtly at the same time, but tried to put themselves apart by not going up, but rather down. All three might be considered aaa titles considering the amount of work and effort, as well as content they provided at the time. Even though their success probably fell short of that.

Overview

Aquanox Deep Descent (ADD) is a semi-open world shooter set underwater, after the world endured the “Last Day” - an apocalyptic event where most of humanity perished and the rest was forced into oceanic depths. Players impersonate Kaelen, one of the chosen few to be preserved in stasis for centuries, now woken up by unclear circumstances. After a dangerous escape, he and his companions - left without most memories - decide to embark on a quest to find the answers about their past, forging alliances and facing many dangers along the way.

For anyone that enjoys Gear.Club on the switch this is a must buy. I have over 300 hours played on the switch version and this is just as fun as the first time I played it. The graphics are stunning, the load times are seconds and the game handles slightly less twitchier that on the switch. 9/10 for me. Would have been 10 if you could message your clan to try to give your team tips or just for a bit of fun. Keep up the great work and lets have some fun

Nice little snack-size blast-em-up to enjoy between bigger gaming jaunts. I’m surprised this has so few reviews on steam as it’s perfectly functional and cheap game to pick up and gun through on a lazy weekend afternoon. Ignore the time played, I probably took about 4 hours to complete this fully.

The basic premise is you fly a helicopter about on a 2.5D plain after a zombie apocalypse has occurred, strafing zombies down below, all the while performing convoy escorts, base defense, cargo delivery, and survivor rescues. You upgrade the helicopter and onboard gunners with coins and parts/supplies that you collect/earn for completing missions. There is quite a variety of zombie types arrayed against you with plenty of damage they can bring to bear on you (and even the unarmed walkers have a serious jump you need to dodge or you’ll be pulled out of control into a horde). You have to manage your fuel, health and ammo meters throughout each mission which you top up from collectibles that spring from killing zombies or landing or recharge helipads, which also double as in-mission save spots.

Hi everyone I am the bkbossman, you can find me on youTube and publishing videos here on steam. First off I’d like to thank Alf and Marie from Zordix publishing for putting me in touch with this little gem.

I’ve played a few hours of Dustoff Z now and I’m enjoying it thoroughly, it has definitely taken the great aspects of the original Dustoff Heli rescue and enhanced them with a better tech tree, graphical enhancements and a fun and engaging story line.

The original was simple involving just 4 upgrades (2 choppers and 2 guns) and focusing on great game play, something which has transferred well into this latest iteration. The tech tree has been expanded so you now have not only more helicopters to choose from but you can upgrade them individually. You can also now choose to have gunners on your chopper and the type you bring with you can affect your progression in the game.

Star Control III

Star Control III

This game gets a lot of flak for not being Star Control II. However, on the whole it plays very well. The diplomatic puzzles are of the same calibre if not better, the Story is pretty much exactly where you’d expect the story to continue from the last game. On the whole, it’s pretty fun.

There are a few things in the game that disappoint, and on a replay 25 years after I originally played it, the come off as little more then a game that was rushed to market. Land grinding has been replaced with a colony building system which feels like they were trying to (poorly) copy civilization games (or maybe master of Orion?) games of the day. But managing colonies does little to speed the game along other then sacrificing ship production for fuel production if you manage to run out of gas. And that’s all the part of the game ads up to: establishing little more then an inter-stellar network of fuelling stations. There’s a lot of potential in this, but rather then fun at all it’s a meaningless chore and a distraction.

Like Star Control: Origins is a reinvention of Star Control II, Star Control 3 was (and is) a bad, mid-90s attempt to re-invent the original Star Control. I’m a big fan of the Star Control series and played them as a kid starting with SC1 in the early 90’s.

Gone is the Hyperspace with galactic borders of SCII and in comes the 3D starmap and colony building of Star Control 1, re-imagined with Accolade’s attempt at the “hyper realism” that was in vogue in the mid-late 90s. Colors, music, and art is all muted and gray, set in a new quadrant devoid of all life.

HIT CHARACTER LIMIT, VIEW THE COMMENTS FOR ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE GAME

This was an interesting review to write. On one hand, it’s an extremely fun game to sink a lot of time into. On the other hand, it’s basically a re-release of a game, not a remaster. The game itself when it was released in 2010 was really fun. I really enjoyed it (although I’m still not a huge fan of the very heavy steering that the game supplies) for its really fun gamemodes online, good graphics, great car list, and the really good tactical nature of most of the online stuff. It’s also immensely satisfying when you do get a really good run through a series of corners at top speed and shaving off that extra fraction of a second when grinding for good times on all the single player events. Likewise, it’s also hugely satisfying to release that perfectly timed spike strip to catch one of your enemies off guard, allowing for your teammates to move in to take them out of the game.

For reference, I bought the 2010 “Limited Edition” version of this game’s original release for PS3 pretty much as soon as it was available. I played through all of its DLCs, too. Is this remaster a faithful recreation of everything from that version of the game? Pretty much, yeah.

I understand that a few cars were removed for the remaster. However, from what I’ve read online, the Carbon Motors E7 was removed because Carbon Motors no longer exists as a company, and the two Mercedes SLR McLarens(Mercedes McLaren 722 Edition and Mercedes McLaren Sterling Moss) due to Mercedes selling off their stake in McLaren starting back in 2009 and not completing until 2011(after the original NFS:HP 2010 release).

Star Control I and II

Star Control I and II

For starters, I have loved this game since playing it on my 3DO as a child, and being frustrated (along with my father and brother) because of the difficulty. I saw that this was on sale and bought it for nostalgic purposes, and to get a little bit of the beta for Origins. I started the first Star Conrol, and for its time, that was a fun game. Minus an alluring storyline and multiple outcomes of a vast galaxy when compared to the second, I keep that game for back up. Thrilled to start the second one again and delve into childhood wonderment and anguish I’m sure, I was beyond bummed to find out that the PC verson, even this UPDATED awesome steam launch, doesn’t have audio files for the characters and aliens you meet. . . . Huge bummer, I am praying that they get an update out there that ports over the amazing 3D0 voices, because it completely changes the games feel and narrative. Overall, still excited to get the chance to play this amazing game again, and discover all the races and hidden artifacts that my child mind was too ignorant to strive for. Recommend this game completely, but 3D0 OG’s, be prepared for a kick in the feels when that first Ur-Quan drone hails you.

While i don’t have much experience with StarControl1, like many i DO have experience with StarControl2!

In my opinion, not only SC is on the Top 5 Sci-Fi universes, but on the Top 10 of best games!

Now, StarControl is not for everybody, it’s very old for today’s standards, and it’s very clunky to play, the game is very Lore Based, there is Much talking and it can be VERY slow

But the game got Charm, a Cute but Dreary style shows an universe enslaved by a Cruel race, but also shows it has Beauty and Humor in it!

I grabbed this game during the Steam Winter sale of 2020. For the sale price, i have to say it is a lot better quality than most of the games at the same price point from what i saw. While the game is built around local or remote play PVP versus mode, it also has a fun 16 level single player story mode. Each of the tanks you can play as all have their own unique feel and play style with pickups in game any tank can use. The game has a slight difficulty curve which is challenge while still being an engaging experience. What really stood out to me the most was the level design. Every level contains destructible environment elements to use to your advantage. All of the level have their own unique play style, adding variety to the gameplay. For the campaign all the maps available have their own unique challenges, which i would love to see added to a versus mode in the future. For example, the racing or more tower defense style defend modes with players switching sides. The game reminds me of a classic play style of Blastcorp and Blaster Master. I look really forward to seeing what future potential this game has. There is a lot this game could do to become an even greater and more engaging game. Mainly online net code that is not steam remote play dependent. I would love to see more stuff for the humans to do before getting their tank such as repairing the tank or acquiring some mission item. This could include stealth or gun play which would make the game have more depth along with building character story. If you want a fun casual couch co-op game to play with up to four people this is defiantly a potential buy for you. Even if you just plan to play the single player mode the game is very enjoyable.
