Review:
Great game I love the noir genre so the aesthetic of this game is already a win for me it’s done pretty well and has some nice humor in it. My two main complaints is one I couldn’t find a way to make it full screen or any options for that matter and the sound puzzle this is a personal one for me because I HATE SOUND PUZZLES, unless they’re blatantly obvious I’m insanely garbage at them so full disclosure I had to cheat the one in this game which I show how to do in the video. Overall though this is a great free to play with a really nice story I loved the break in puzzles with the action scenes as well that was a super nice touch.

A fun half-an-hour experience
Loved the style and attention to details
Action sequences are a bit tough to control but there’s no tight platforming or heated situations to make it a problem
The programming is a bit rough but for a jam game it is a cool experience!

Gunmetal Arcadia Zero
Being a big fan of You Have to Win the Game and Super Win the Game (I’ve got 60 hours into it and have speedrun it many times) I was apprehensive about trying a game that appeared to control like Zelda II. My apprehension was assuaged soon after playing the demo. As usual with J. Kyle Pittman’s games, the controls are as tight as can be, the character’s velocity and friction feel just right, and the general difficulty ramps up at a nice gradual pace unlike games like Shovel Knight.
The graphics and soundtrack are even more reminiscent of NES games than his prior games, and the songs are so catchy I’m glad to have purchased the bundle with the soundtrack. The game offers a new game+ replay, where enemies take progressively more hits with each subsequent playthrough. A speedrun mode is also available that not only runs a tmer for you, it performs the splits for you as well. For Mac players with far fewer options for speedrun timers, this is a welcome addition, and one I personally hope will be patched into Super Win as well.

This game is a mini masterpiece. I beat it in only a couple hours, but it feels like I got so much more out of it than that. Probably that’s mostly because it’s balls to the wall hard. It’s very NES, in difficulty, atmosphere, aesthetic, music, and visuals. Seriously, the music rocks. Even the death music kicks so much butt that it’s almost not too frustrating to die. Almost. This game will anger you, will taunt you, and frustrate you like any NES game would. Do you love the BS Medusa heads from Castelvania? Well you’ll love this game, because every part that has tricky platforming has a million Medusa heads-like enemy, and one of these types drops this chain so even if you dodge the head, you gotta dodge the chain. But after all the fury, all the rage, of playing the same level over and over again, when you finally get that last hit on the last boss, the immense feeling of victory explodes from your blood vessels and implodes your guts all over your monitor. What a rush! And the controls are very fluid, allowing you to play with a satisfying flow. One thing I didn’t like is that the majority of the items you could pick up were utterly terrible. Get the tri-shot, and ignore all other items, seriously, none of them are worth it and if you stab a torch that spits another item out it’s so annoying to try to dodge them all the time. And they take forever to despawn so you’ll gauranteed accidentally pick up a crappy item during a crucial moment. There are also some neat secrets you can find. This game feels like it drew a lot of influences from both Zelda II and Castlevania. I highly recommend this game to any fans of NES games, tough as nails platformers, and anyone who can take a challenge. The guy who made this game also made the free You Have To Win the Game, which is also great, as well as Eldritch, which is a vastly different FPS rogue-like game, and I would highly recommend you check that out too. Please support this dev, he really deserves it and puts out quality content.

SteamHammerVR - The Rogue Apprentice
UPDATE: 10th August 2017
So, just played through this full release and it is visually stunning, I just love the attention to detail in every scene, both visual and audio, the story mode is well worth completing…wont say any more as there would be spoilers.
The game play is challenging, there is a small learning curve but totally worth it, you are not equipped with a straight forward ‘pow pow’ guns as in most games of this type, I think the adding of voice command since Early Access is a total game changer and personally used this a lot rather than fiddle with the controllers.

This is a really entertaining example of what can be achieved in VR and both my Son and I enjoyed playing it, even though we were terrible at. If London really does come under threat from clockwork creatures, probably best not to call on us!
The game has a great atmosphere and music and background noise has been utilised well, to help maintain the immersive nature of VR gaming. Having the clockwork creatures come at you is alright, at first, but once they really get going, the 360 degree nature of the game, really becomes apparent. They come from everywhere and I found myself twisting round to check behind me, with increasing paranoia, as I became aware of clockwork critters is not yet dealt with.

To Each of Their Hearts
Wells
A slightly broken run and gun game set in the steampunk world, but does it have potential? Yes it does, the game itself is a lot of fun, but infuriating when it doesn’t work like it’s meant to be, sometimes your character just spasms out, and seems to be immortal at others.
The world you’re in is amazing drawn, with high attention to detail and graphics, I love the steampunk theme, it gives it a lovely vibe, the controls freeze at times but mostly they’re smooth and responsive.
I’d advise you to wait on this game a bit till it gets fixed, otherwise this could be a wonderful game.

Wells feels like maybe someone’s first or second commercial game. It aims to run at 60 FPS but drops frames pretty regularly (maybe 58 FPS if you average it out, it can be adjusted to) the voice acting was clearly all done by one person just to have it in the game, and the last cutscene mentions an artifact that we never see before then. All told though? The weapons all have different uses for both combat and progression (and it’s not just pistol/shotgun/rifle either, there are some surprises in there,) the art direction is really nice from start to finish, and some of the boss fights are really quite memorable.

I posted this review together with 18 images HERE .
Introduction
When I wrote this review I’d spent approximately 4 to 5 hours playing the game, but due to the level design and movement issues (IMO), I found it difficult to progress. It may be that you don’t have the same issue as me. I failed to even complete the first few objectives, which are necessary to progress, i.e. collect a key and pull a lever. I eventually found the key, then spent the next four + hours repeatedly dying and still haven’t found the lever. On replaying it almost two years later, I’ve still not been able to get as far as the lever despite now having spent over 13 hours in bite sized bits playing. I do think there are some issues that need work e.g. increasing the view area and movement speeds. For now it’s just too difficult for my slow reaction times to progress further.

Rinlo
Why are there not more VR games like this? For those of you who loved Moss, you will LOVE Rinlo! This game needs WAY more attention. I want to give a good shout out to the developers for making such an awesome game! I definitely got my moneys worth with this one, and highly recommend it to anyone. The perspective of Rinlo is somewhat like playing inside of a dollhouse in certain areas, with a good story, and some interesting puzzles to solve. Rinlo is one of those games you play when you get sick of the same old shooter blasting games, and just want to have a great VR experience with some unique settings. You will get several hours of game time for a great price. Rinlo is a hidden gem on Steam that more people need to know about. While everyone else is talking about Half Life Alyx, or Blade and Sorcery, I’m one of those people that looks for titles like this one. It’s a must have in your library. So please, spread the word about it, and let’s get the developers some well earned cash in their pockets. Thanks for making a unique experience. Definitely going to have another play through soon!

Steampunk Graveyard
I actually really enjoyed this despite some glaring flaws. I’ll mention the flaws first and then go over some of what I liked about it and you can decide for yourself what you think about it.
So, for flaws I noticed that the levels are pretty much identical. There isn’t much variety in the enemies or in the levels themselves. Once you’ve played one level you’ve pretty much played them all and faced most of the enemies. Despite that, I still actually had WAY more fun with this game than I thought I would. You have a melee option, there’s a long distance option, and there are zombie robots. I mean, where else are you going to find zombie robots? There’s just something really cool about that. If you see this game on sale and you dig platformers already, I recommend it. And I’m saying that despite getting frustrated with one of the levels and not continuing any further since then. I still think there’s enough here to warrant a purchase but that’s my opinion.

This game looks like a first game after some tutorials.
First 3 levels are totally the same. You can rush through them without killing enimies. The final boss can shoot only in one direcation so if you will stay behing – he will never damage you.
Even grenades have no range damage!
this “game” should not cost anything.

Neyyah is a first-person point-and-click adventure puzzle game, an archaeological investigation, using 2d slideshow based pre-rendered graphics. It is set within a collection of remote almost abandoned islands, separated by a series of complex portal machinery and laced with the fingerprints of two very intriguing cultures.

A wrong must be righted. A civilisation avenged. A secret revealed.
You end up on Neyyah with only a small amount of knowledge given to you by the frantic Vamir on what you’re supposed to do when you’re there.
Things don’t go as planned. In order to return to Olujay and reach Vamir, you will have to explore Neyyah – linking together the mechanical contraptions, rusted levers and blue plasma portal systems scattered throughout the bizarre landscapes, as you learn about the cultures that have shaped Neyyah.
Not everything is as it seems, and as you wander further into Neyyah’s ancient heart, your discoveries will lead you to uncover the very truths behind the fate of Earth itself …
Neyyah reflects similar situations depicted within our own society, such as what is real, what is false, and being able to question your own beliefs. Through environmental storytelling, the player will be able to enjoy hours of non-linear gameplay, solving puzzles through use of close observation, visual links, writing down your own notes, using inventory items … while immersing yourself in a rich story and environment driven game, delivered to you with beautiful prerendered graphics, immersive sounds and a compelling musical score.
