Rebel Galaxy Outlaw

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw

Great game.

It brought me back to the times of Wing Commander Privateer, Privateer 2.

It is hard, yes, and I would never finish it on Old school playstyle without flightstick. But developers tried to make it easier with seetings like Aim assist or Pursuit for other playstyles.

I’ve seen some rewievs complaining about difficulty - but hey you can always get better equipment by trading or mining first before diving in to systems with more powerful enemies.

Thank you Double Damage Games, it was great adventure!

I’m writing this as I take a break from RGO after it’s hurt me, again, by crashing and losing my save file. Yet I’m still recommending the game because I think it’s just a great, fun, space shooting experience. The in-moment gameplay is fun. The combat has a visceral feel. It gets chaotic, and is at its core a good time shooting things in space. Just flying around is a joy. I love the very strong style. There seems to be a Firefly influence - a western in space - that comes through in the cheesy rock radio, the myriad grungy details added to the setting, and the drawling accents of the various NPCs. I like that the game gives you a lot of freedom. Right from the start you can go where you want and do what you want. That whole story thing sound boring? Grab a mining laser and go and make some money shooting at rocks for a while. This game feels to me something akin to GTA in space: there’s a heavily stylised and detailed setting, mini-games in the bar, constant voiced reactions from the player character, factions and reputation, and the radio station complete with in-universe adverts and jingles. But they clearly didn’t have a GTA-sized budget, so while there are such things, there’s nowhere near as much of them as you’d find in GTA. All things considered, there’s a lot to like in Rebel Galaxy Outlaw.

This Is A Neat Little Game That Has Lots Of Potential. The Gameplay Is Well Made And Very Fun although The Rover is A Bit slow. For The First Version Ever Compiled it has a lot of stuff in it, No Dev Textures or anything like that. Stuff That I Want to be put in the game is Currency instead of straight minerals. I Feel like if you add like a sell Building so you would sell your minerals for cash. You Should Also add different minerals like some minerals sell for more than others. Wins my Steam awards vote.

This is a lovely little set of models and mechanics. I really enjoyed the soft progressions albeit repetitive it was in fact soothing and calming. I see wonderous things to this for to me it has my approval and a good sturdy foundation to build on. For me i’d suggest some more world building (like extra biomes) some crafting mechanics (different ores and minerals) and perhaps even some combat or survival aspect?

Regardless you have my attention with this wee widdle game you have here and I will be monitoring and hoping and wishing you (The Dev Team) all the best keep up the good work. Whatever you all will do with it I’ll look forward to seeing with my eyes.

Space Explore VR Game Review

Travel to space, explore the space station, make some repairs, and head home in this new VR game.

https://youtu.be/u0tRiMo2_R4

Space Explore has 4 missions, the first one is watching while the next 3 you participate. Sadly though this game is very unpolished and looks very ugly. I also saw a lot of visual bugs in the short playtime with characters inside of objects and such. I also noticed a lot of objects weren’t fully designed missing sides or parts. Audio wise the voice overs are just a speech bot which mostly works for this but still feels like a shortcut, but I will admit the music does sound nice.

Space Rats

Space Rats

The Great Cataclysm saw the Earth destroyed, forcing the human race to spread further into the solar system.

Humanity now lives a nomadic life, flying between the Space Stations that are spread across the Solar System.

Create your own captain and crew, avoid Space Pirates and the Galactic Union to discover the truth of why there is a price on your head.

Space Rats is an Action Adventure RPG, a space blaster that is somewhere between Ani- mal Crossing, Overcooked, and FTL.

In order to navigate the solar system the player maintains and operates their starship which is constantly breaking down and catching fire. When they do get the systems work- ing they all perform different functions, Operating the engine boosts speed, working the helm improves turning and having one or more crew on the shields gives shield bonuses. There are many more systems to run and each can be upgraded to improve performance. Players can even buy maintenance robots, better weapons, and cloaking devices to help protect their ship.

If that wasn’t enough they can always buy a bigger and better ship from the reputable and not so reputable traders at one of the many Space Stations across the Solar System.

Time is not on the player’s side, the many factions are hunting down their crew and if they linger in one sector too long their wanted level increases. This sees more ships coming after them, from Bounty Hunters to Galactic Union Battle Cruisers, everyone is on high alert for the crew and they certainly do not want to be noticed when they sneak into Space Stations!

  • • Command and customise a variety of ship types

  • • Battle the numerous Factions, from the fearsome Pirates to the authoritarian Galactic

  • Union

  • • Sneak onto space stations and grab equipment

  • • Board enemy ships and fight furious battles

  • • Salvage derelict Spacecraft

  • • Mine Asteroids

  • • Trade

  • • Upgrade and buy new ships

  • • Hire Crew

  • • Fight for freedom

  • • Discover the truth

  • • Eat Space Munch bars

Not bad but not as great as I was expecting, or maybe not even good? Okay? Fine? Passable?

First, I wish there were more planes. Second, I wish there was more variety for weapon customization. Third, immersion mode on the Quest 2 PCVR is wonky… Maybe I’m doing something wrong here but I’ve tried all the VR controller options, and on the immersive bomber I cannot maintain the sights in front of me as they swing hard left and right ( it worked properly once). ::Edit:: Immersion mode just blows.

A LOT OF FUN! I got it on sale, and it was definitely worth it. Super addictive actually. I played this dev’s other game Operation Warcade and loved it and this is along the same lines, but with an airplane. Retro meets VR. Love it. (by the way, these people also make the mariokart-esque game Touring Karts, which is also a lot of fun).

Actually found this game when I played the demo for their other game 2076, which seems to take everything in this game and make it even better. Super psyched about that one!

Really enjoyed this with kids. The 3D printer is pretty cool, also the “wooble” planet behind you in the base scene when choosing planets. It’s all nice, like job-simulator-in-space. Can’t wait for the future content. Needs more stuff to do.
