This game is an insult to indie horror games. The entire game revolves around you walking through empty rooms, while flashing pictures of random “scary” figures pop up on screen with a LOUD sounds attached to it.

Good horror game except for the weak combat mechanics and lack of control options.

Buy it on sale.

I enjoyed the game. I like games that are not necessarily polished - for me, it reflects the beauty of the artist/developer(s) behind the game. The only issue I had really would be, when you hit the “Esc” key, it instantly closes the game. But the game autosave often, so after all, it was not a big issue. I just had to remember not to hit the “Esc” key.

My who family use the VR set but its easy for me, my brother and dad to find games, whoever, that’s not the case for my mum who prefers mystery and puzzle games but she liked the look of this and wanted to leave her comfort zone and to say the least we were all pleasantly surprised, the story is good and there’s plenty of times were were laughing at whoever was playing as they froze in place from being too scared.

You can for sure zoom past through the game but we take turn and take time to uncover everything we can, 13/17 chapters done with nearly 10 hours which was a nice surprise lengthwise.

Do you like taking long walks in the woods with your dog and occasionally wetting your pants in sheer terror? Well then, have I got the game for you! Ok, so this is kind of a mixed bag but it’s a pretty good horror game for VR. Let’s talk pros and cons:

The Good:

It’s a pretty well-made game with great atmosphere. The first ~4 hours, in the woods, are about a 4/10 on the spookiness scale, atmospheric but nothing really scary, but the last ~2 hours, in the house, the spookiness gets cranked up to about 8/10 with bursts of 11/10. It was pretty intense in VR and I had to change my pants a few times… I also liked how the documents had a pop-out window for text that made them very easy to read. Reading text in VR is not always fun but this was a good and intuitive solution.

Burger Night

Burger Night

Burger Night is a comedy horror game, in which your only job is to collect items, explore, clean corpses and run from the god damn burger. And if you make it out alive, well you wont.

This game takes everything non-fictional and throws it out the window, Burger Night is a horror/thriller game (despite it not being that scary) that is about a Burger that is chasing you while you try to clean corpses and collect.. hotdog pieces? Well that’s besides the point, if you looking for a laugh and a cheap and quick play, Burger Night is definitely for you!

So I decided to check this out solely on the screenshots and I didn’t like the fact that you walk around a house not knowing what to do it got quite frustrating I had to edit the video down a lot because of that reason.

I did like the atmosphere when I was playing no music just creeks and noises that got me it felt really creepy.

I would of like an English option I noticed the ending credits was translated into English but I would of liked the game translated into English.

As for the price I thought it was cheap, overall it was a good game If your thinking of giving it a go I would just based on the price.

Simply not ready for playing.

  • Settings default to things like 0 FOV which makes it so you can’t see anything

  • Controls aren’t very responsive

  • Two dead players can revive eachother

  • AI can move dead players around by running into them, making them unreachable

  • Player models load in as all the same one and then randomly change…?

  • No steam support for inviting to multiplayer, lobby finder janky and didn’t work half the time

  • Practically non-existent sound effects

I could go on, but there’s really no point. Skip this one for now.

Has all the makings of a really bad 80s action movie flick:

Graphics: 5/10 - Although creates a realistic environment it isn’t the prettiest looking game and kind of reminds me of the getaway from the ps2 era if it was set in the eastern bloc. Had a few clipping issues and my character had his arm wrapped around him after one of the fights. For a game to pride on melee needs things like blood/bruising to make it look authentic.

Apocalyptic Adventure: Episode 1

Apocalyptic Adventure: Episode 1

A Gem, yet to be Found

As the store page states it, this game is made by a small team and is designated as an early access title. But early access is not the right word for what we got here so far. Think about Apocalyptic Adventure: Episode 1 as an advanced Demo of what this series might can become in the near future. The coremechanics are already fleshed out, the menu and backpack system is on a good way, Your inventory, which can be grabbed from your back, works as you place it in the world intuitively. Especially while crafting weapons and tools at one of the many workbenches, you get a feeling for the intuitive “grabbing in the bag” to get your resourcess. In addition to the backpack storage on your back for big things, the player got a small pouch on the lef hip in which utility items, like stones, bombs and ammo can be stored and quickly acessed. To get rid of the infected hordes which come at you as you progress threw the map, the player mostly relies on melee combat. While beeing able to use your fists to push the infected away, the game tells you quite early that the use of tools, handcrafted weapons and traps are the way to go against the undead. Handgun combat is also part of the game, while ammo is always low and it is meant as the last devestating defence in the most tragic situations.
