Check out this awesome retro shooter. Apparently most people have been completing it in 2-3 hours but I’m 3 hours in and only 1/2-2/3 through the game. Gameplay is simple but a little unusual (in a good way). Really have a lot of fun with it!
The best way I can describe this is as a “top down metroidvania” with bullet hell elements. Exploring is as fun as clearing rooms. Retro graphics are simplistic but well done. Challenging and very fun.

Eternium
I have been a member of Steam for quite a few years I really do not write a lot of reviews. I do not even post that often. But this game has frustrated me to the point I feel I have no choice.
I played the game even though there were things that bothered me but for some reason it intrigued me. I mean using the same mouse click to attack with as you use to move can be a major PITA when you are trying to not eat a bosses enrage.
I have definitely yelled at my avatar a time or two begging him to move and not attack. But I played through.

This is a review from a long lost fan of the game. I play this game with my last save of Eternium on mobile, then login back with this PC version.
I played this game on mobile version since 4 years ago (counted from today’s release of early access on PC today, and the last mail i got in game that still stay). Been liking it on how it has some unique aspects like swiping and drawing sign controls, important loots were pretty easy to get like set gears and what not, cuz you can combine some gears into better version of it. All currencies can be acquired through in game, which was only gold and gems. Some upgrades may requires you to wait real time, but it was still comfy for sometime.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw
Great game.
It brought me back to the times of Wing Commander Privateer, Privateer 2.
It is hard, yes, and I would never finish it on Old school playstyle without flightstick. But developers tried to make it easier with seetings like Aim assist or Pursuit for other playstyles.
I’ve seen some rewievs complaining about difficulty - but hey you can always get better equipment by trading or mining first before diving in to systems with more powerful enemies.
Thank you Double Damage Games, it was great adventure!

I’m writing this as I take a break from RGO after it’s hurt me, again, by crashing and losing my save file. Yet I’m still recommending the game because I think it’s just a great, fun, space shooting experience. The in-moment gameplay is fun. The combat has a visceral feel. It gets chaotic, and is at its core a good time shooting things in space. Just flying around is a joy. I love the very strong style. There seems to be a Firefly influence - a western in space - that comes through in the cheesy rock radio, the myriad grungy details added to the setting, and the drawling accents of the various NPCs. I like that the game gives you a lot of freedom. Right from the start you can go where you want and do what you want. That whole story thing sound boring? Grab a mining laser and go and make some money shooting at rocks for a while. This game feels to me something akin to GTA in space: there’s a heavily stylised and detailed setting, mini-games in the bar, constant voiced reactions from the player character, factions and reputation, and the radio station complete with in-universe adverts and jingles. But they clearly didn’t have a GTA-sized budget, so while there are such things, there’s nowhere near as much of them as you’d find in GTA. All things considered, there’s a lot to like in Rebel Galaxy Outlaw.

BOY BEATS WORLD
So far, I’m really interested in what this game has in store. The rhythm based mechanics are very unique and offer an experience I don’t think I’ve seen anywhere else. The humor in the dialogue is also something to praise, as it keeps you talking to every character just to see what little goofy comment they’ll make. You should definitely try it out if you enjoy rhythm games, banger music, and creative rpg-like worlds.

After streaming this on my Twitch channel, my viewers and I were all feeling the vibe! For as rough and simple as it may be at first glance, there’s a good variety to the combat to keep it interesting, and the personal touches in the humor and composer’s notes really make it an experience. This is certainly a fun little diversion for a rainy afternoon if you’re into unique rhythm games and chiptune; I’d love to pick up the soundtrack on Bandcamp if the dev publishes it, but for now I’ll look forward to finishing the campaign!

Pixel Ripped 1995
FULL VIDEO REVIEW AVAILABLE
For the original fans of Pixel Ripped 1989 here’s my quick answer if you should buy the sequel. It’s a massive yes from me! Everything you know and love is here but it’s been turned up a quite a few notch’s and I’m assuming after the deserved success of Ana Ribeiros Pixel Ripped 1989 developers ARVORE have doubled down and expanded on what made the original really really special. In my mind this is a must buy.
Far-of-a-land is again at peace but the evil cyblin lord has other ideas and has a plan to get his goblin like hands on the Pixel stone once again and it will make him more powerful than.

I was THERE man…
It was a time of great strife, and conflict. It was WAR. It was, the Great American CONSOLE WAR. Arguably the most well known of them all. Two console enter. One console leave. But the one that left was neither of the two that entered. But I digress…
16 bit?? That’s like…twice as many bits!
This game will take you on a digital nostalgia world tour, and if you’re old enough to remember these times, you’ll no doubt feel like you’re seeing old friends for the first time in as many years. Your “Brothers in Arms” from your old War days. Console War days. If it was iconic, it’s likely here in some recognizable but not copyright infringing way. This includes the main character, who is herself something of an amalgamation of Samus, Link, and Megaman.

DRAGON’S TOWER
An old-style pixel 2D platformer who becomes an apprentice swordsman, confronts dragons and rescues princesses. You can easily enjoy your adventure with simple operations such as jumping and dashing attacks. Enjoy the world of charming enemy characters, items that grow apprentice swordsmen, and a simple and nostalgic game world.
◆ Story ◆
This is a certain kingdom.
The jewel that contained the dragon was stolen by an evil swordsman.
Unleashing the dragon from the jewels, the swordsman gained immense power and hijacked the tower of the kingdom.
The king managed to escape, but the princess was captured.
The king sent many troops to the tower to retrieve the princess and the jewels, but none of them came back alive …
As a last resort, I decided to entrust everything to the “apprentice swordsman,” the descendant of the legendary swordsman who once contained the dragon in a jewel.
Many objected to sending the “apprentice swordsman” to the tower, but the king felt something.
Find the legendary equipment that the legendary swordsman once wore, and regain the jewels and princess.
The “apprentice swordsman” invaded through the hidden passage of the tower on a full moon night.
◆Game overview◆
The purpose is to collect the legendary equipment in the dragon tower and defeat the demon swordsman and dragon.
Also, a princess is captured somewhere in the tower.
The princess can clear the game without rescuing, but rescue is required for the true ending.
There are two types of attack methods, “dash attack” and “stomping”.
-
Dash attack…Effective against all enemies, but also damages the player.
-
Stomping… (Attack that jumps and stomp the enemy’s head) has some effects, and the player is not damaged.
When you get the item, it will be displayed in the upper right corner of the screen and will be equipped automatically.
When the life at the top left of the screen runs out, it will be respawned at the previous checkpoint (the position of the last coin picked up).
It is saved at the position where you picked up the FD (floppy disk), and you can select the area at the start of the game.

Ravva and the Cyclops Curse
I’m pretty surprised by the potential with this game. It’s pretty short, say an hour for a run if you take your time? But it’s got a bit of replayability to it if you’re going for the achievements or a high score. Once you’ve learnt the game (And you’re going to have to because it’s a pretty tough game until you learn patterns and timings.) the way you play is quite different.
Your first time, you’ll be best served taking your time to scan for secrets with the yellow eye shot and nabbing powerups and spare lives while you progress through the levels. The time limit is generous to the point where it’s rare you’ll hit double digits even combing each level for hidden things so there is no rush except for the sake of points.
! Speaking of which you’ll need 500,000+ of them by the end of the last level if you want to be able to find the secret ending.

Played the game through on Normal Mode on stream and beat it. Here’s my thoughts.
First off, props for the pre-game menu. Being able to set your screen size, VSynch and controls from the start help. I recommend VSynch btw for this game. The game is well-designed: graphics are as expected, gameplay is smooth and responsive, and the game captures well in OBS (for those of you looking to make content for the game).
The tutorial is actual kind of fun, it gives you the information you need without dragging out the time. The acutal game has the appropriate amount of difficulty curve, you won’t feel overwhelmed at the amount of enemies or the timing of the traps. A high amount of secets will let scroungers have their fun, but the game is also perfectly paced for the speedrunner.
