The Addams Family: Mansion Mayhem

The Addams Family: Mansion Mayhem

Unfinished game at the moment. No controller support and forces 2nd player to use same keyboard for remote play together. Even then they cannot pick a 2nd character . Keyboard controls are pretty awful. Will change my review if they fix the issues.

Love the Addams Family, but a party game without solid controller support isn’t much of a party game… very disappointing.

Speaking as someone with the upmost experience at FitForce (as you can see, a whopping 2.4 hours worth), this game combines the benefits of exercise with the sexiness of blocky characters. The constant glitchiness is very motivating to work harder and throw my phone at the screen with full force. I must have burned a full week’s worth of calories jerking off the wizard for a solid 15 minutes, but hey, some people are into that. Sorry, I’m not one of those people, so sue me.

But pixel man do run fast tho

NOTE: This review is part of my steam curator review and is the extended version. Check my steam curator page at https://store.steampowered.com/curator/39607348-Random-Game-Reviews-by-Labprofess/ . Follow appreciated!

Puerto Viejo is a game set during the Spanish golden age in which you, playing as Miguel, are on a mission to find your father after he hasn’t returned from Sea. However, such a journey is expensive and you only have 2 days. It’s now based on you being able to find enough jobs and meet enough people in hopes to get the money in time. Completing such jobs requires the completion of various mini games: each game unique to its level. Some are harder, some are easier. Some will require you to do them over and over again until you succeed. I don’t want to spoil them, but I can tell you that they really train your timing and reflexes. Really gets you to concentrate on the game. A unique way of challenging the player, nothing I have ever seen before. This game blends both realism and non fiction too, in that it demonstrates the work of the Spanish golden age in its mini games. The Spanish golden age was a time period of flourishing art and literature. This is seen in levels such as helping your friend sing a poem while you are plucking the guitar. For the rest, I’ll let you explore and connect the levels to the games surrounding yourself. A fun and easy way to learn something new.

What a charming game! The game has gorgeous art and music which helps to whisk me away to a Ghibli-esque world. The minigames are varied with lots of new mechanics each being introduced. I look forward to what’s next from this studio.

It’s the 80s, so put on your nostalgia glasses (even if you weren’t there)!

From the creators of Thief Simulator.

Every house, bank, shop and museum can be robbed with the right tools, you just have to know how to do it.

That’s right, if you see a house, bank or a shop you can get inside, but learn about the tenants first. You don’t want to get caught.

Remember VHS, cassette players and CRT TVs? No? Well now you can get to know them. Tenants will surely share them with you, albeit not knowingly.

Earn cash and reputation in the underground world filled with corruption and crime.

Sometimes the only thing you can do is get in the car and drive as fast as possible. But be careful, the cops are not playing around and will chase after you.

Make sure to bribe the police to avoid being wanted.

There are many classic styled minigames available. Beat the highscores and get achievements for it!

This is not a good collection of mini-games. Quite frankly, there’s older collection of mini-games out there that are much better and light years ahead in the gameplay department (examples: Summer Funland, Loco Dojo, Rec Room, etc.). The game mechanics here are simply outdated. I had zero fun while playing this.

The mini-games are just too basic with outdated interactions. Several of the interactions are point and click type interactions. The controls are pretty bad in two of the mini-games where it feels like you’re fighting the controls more than you’re trying to play a game. The physics are simple in these mini-games. Overall, these mini-games function, but they are forgettable.I think it’s an interesting concept to tie emotions to a mini-game type. However, I felt mostly frustration, boredom, & even rage through all the emotions, even the joy and serenity games. I enjoy a challenge in mini-games, but these are boring challenges

Disclaimer: I’ve received this game for free via Curator Connect.

Soulpath is a small collection of tedious mini-games with mediocre visuals and very basic gameplay. Every game has 3 difficulty levels but I could not bring myself to play any of them again after finishing the initial level.

Here are those mini-games:

  • Beat Saber with a lot of bombs and without rhythm and slicing mechanics;

  • Unresponsive marble ball “labyrinth” with instant death traps;

  • 2 similar precision challenges with the most clunky throwing mechanics I’ve ever seen in VR;

Pixel Ripped 1995

FULL VIDEO REVIEW AVAILABLE

For the original fans of Pixel Ripped 1989 here’s my quick answer if you should buy the sequel. It’s a massive yes from me! Everything you know and love is here but it’s been turned up a quite a few notch’s and I’m assuming after the deserved success of Ana Ribeiros Pixel Ripped 1989 developers ARVORE have doubled down and expanded on what made the original really really special. In my mind this is a must buy.

Far-of-a-land is again at peace but the evil cyblin lord has other ideas and has a plan to get his goblin like hands on the Pixel stone once again and it will make him more powerful than.

I was THERE man…

It was a time of great strife, and conflict. It was WAR. It was, the Great American CONSOLE WAR. Arguably the most well known of them all. Two console enter. One console leave. But the one that left was neither of the two that entered. But I digress…

16 bit?? That’s like…twice as many bits!

This game will take you on a digital nostalgia world tour, and if you’re old enough to remember these times, you’ll no doubt feel like you’re seeing old friends for the first time in as many years. Your “Brothers in Arms” from your old War days. Console War days. If it was iconic, it’s likely here in some recognizable but not copyright infringing way. This includes the main character, who is herself something of an amalgamation of Samus, Link, and Megaman.

Venge

Venge

I played it for 11 hours now and here is what I think, as always in stats and some words:

WORDS

Yeah… Venge. A creative game by a single developer with some help. You can find bugs from time to time, but it doesn’t kill the experience. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful game with a great story and awesome delivery. It gets frustrating from time to time because consistency is only a thing every now and then, which prevents players from being in the flow. When it comes to awesome per second, it dies down from time to time, but when it delivers, it does. I didn’t finish it yet, but I plan I keep enjoying it and I hope so do you.

I wanted to give this game a review after playing through the entire first act.

What started as a game that seemed like it was going to be a bit silly ended up getting me really good with scares that I didn’t expect and gameplay that was extremely fun. This is definitely one of those games where you need to play it for yourself if you want to really see how it is but let me point out a few things that worked really well, and a few that didn’t.

First off, the game definitely has a bit of a silly take to horror but don’t let that dissuade you from playing it. The humor really sets the scares up to be more intense as it gets you to let your guard down a bit. Most of the scares that I yelled out loud were situations where I thought I was completely safe and I had outsmarted the AI and the game…. and it turns out the game was a step ahead of me. I’M LOOKING AT YOU, DOOR CLOSING AFTER A CHASE SCENE. That got me REAL GOOD.
