Sole Iron Tail
I loved this! The movement feels fast and fluid, similar to Sonic or Freedom Planet, but with its own twists with charging and sliding. When you start building up momentum and racing through the level, it just feels great. The art is adorable and the soundtrack is a legit banger. For the price, this is a steal, especially if you like classic platformers with an emphasis on collecting and speedrunning!

Had a great time running and bouncing around this cute story. Mechanics are a blast and the music is great. The game is quite charming! I would recommend it to fans of Sonic games for sure.

BALAN WONDERWORLD
Almost 100%ed the game, figured that’s worth mentioning at the start.
Balan Wonderworld feels like if a lost game from the late 90s - early 2000s was found from Yuji Naka’s PC, upgraded to HD and shipped out, and honestly i wouldn’t have it any other way as a fan of those early 3D titles.
For a platformer of it’s caliber, Balan Wonderworld has a ton of freedom, whether it’s the difficulty of the game reacting to how you play, the robust catalog of over 80 costumes to choose from or the level design that’s been deliberately built to have puzzles that can be solved in more ways than one and more.

Any edits are added at the bottom.
I’ve been looking forward to this game ever since I first saw it announced, and it blew my expectations away. I’m probably unique in this regard, but I shed a tear when I entered the first level and the music and atmosphere hit. It’s just the kind of game I’ve been waiting for.
I don’t really know how to accurately describe its game play, but I feel like it’s fairly accurate to say that it’s like a hybrid between NiGHTS games and Mario Odyssey/64. There are different worlds with different levels and you obtain “Costumes” which are like power-ups that you can take between worlds to access new places. One thing I should note is that it’s very much so an “All-Ages” kind of game that’s friendly to all kinds of players, and from what I can tell so far it’s a one button does all game where you have an action button and analogue movement.

Cloudbuilt
This game is absolutely stellar. I doubt I will play anything better this year, or perhaps even in years to come.
First and foremost, this game grants the player absolute control over the character. The movement is fast and responsive, and the more you learn about the game, the better you can maneuver, to the point where you can do things you never would have thought possible at first. This sense of control is absolutely wonderful because I can apply both my reflexes and timing as well as my puzzle-solving skills to the level in front of me. The level design features branching paths that allow you to tackle the level many different ways, and give the player a sense of exploration. Will you go the easier and slower path, take more difficult shortcut, or will you look for the perfect jump to create your OWN shortcut? The game also allows you to place your own checkpoints, and unlike They Bleed Pixels, they actually mean it, meaning that you get to tackle the level before you on your own terms without compromising the difficulty.

So close…so very very close. This would have been a GOTY contender for me but it slips and wobbles
hard
I’ll start with the good: Cloudbuilt is basically Sonic Generations. Remember boosting to beat your time and precision, quick twitch platforming within a level that has multiple pathways? It’s here. Maybe the budget isn’t, but the excitement and speed definitely is. As is the creativity, only difference here is levels have more vertical movement and therefore aren’t as fast, but the idea is the same.

LOST ORBIT: Terminal Velocity
As a score chasing game, it has its merits. As a story/character heavy game, it fails completely. It feels like Pixelnauts was unsure of what kind of game to make, an arcade time-attack game, or a personal journey through space with an A.I. companion, and this dichotomy constantly gets in the way of the player’s experience. I would have recommended if not for Terminal Velocity. I hated my time with Terminal Velocity and would recommend not even bothering with it if you do pick the game up.

Amazing game !
I already played the original Lost Orbit a while ago and it’s such a pleasure to come back to this title !
Speeding through asteroids and … dying !
The game is not always easy but it’s fun and … luckily, we do have a bunch of save points to avoid completely restarting a hellish area.
But more than that, Lost Orbit is a poetic story with really cool music ! (where’s the soundtrack DLC?)
It tells the story of a lost astronaut who find a friend in a little probe after losing his space ship.

-SPROUT-
If speedrunning is your thing, this is the game for you. This Micro-Platformer, similar to “Celeste” is easy to pick up, but hard to master. The controls are fair and accurate (However, you will find yourself getting enraged when you make a mistake). Each world can take up to 25 min, depending on speed, and you’ll find yourself coming back to it to improve your time. The simplicity of each level may lead many to think the game is straightforward, but each level is has a unique challenge that you need to overcome.

Disclaimer: I had beta access to the game
Pros:
-Lots of variety between the different worlds.
-The format of the levels (all in one screen) is easy to learn, but hard to master. At no point will the game feel overwhelming though.
-The length and design of the levels makes it perfect for speed-running, and newcomers to speed-running.
-An already active speed running community.
-Great music that will stay interesting even when you die 100 times.
Maybe pro maybe con, depends on your preferences:

Tyrfing Cycle |Vanilla|
Ok. So I played the game. Must say It’s pretty fun thought the control feels a little stiff but nothing you can’t get used to.
While I rarely do reviews. I felt that I should add my two cents. Cycle Of Tyrfing is a pretty fun / ok roguelike game that is easy to pick up and play. The Game looks nice I will say and it runs smooth which is great but a game is not a game without it’s problems of course.
The things I disliked:
1. Lack of screen resolution options
2. There is a “chance” that while playing that you could enter a room with dead ends (which is a dead run) Not sure if this was a room that was overlooked during coding but this is some that can be fixed with a update.

Watch to get a general idea.
If you understand what EA is and are ok with getting content added in the future, taking part in a “work in progress” well i will say speaking for myself i feel this game has enough content to keep me busy, entertained and content for the time being.
In other words enough here to warrant a purchase.. Boss fights are unique, fun and the art style/music are pretty kick arse.
I suggest, like every game, do some research and compare notes and then decide if its for you.

502’s Arcade
502’s Arcade is an anthology of fast paced arcade games where your goal is to reach the top of the leaderboards in each one. The games go from a dungeon crawler set in a procedural generated temple where you have to seal spirits, to a cute but challenging puzzle where you have to prepare the orders of a very hectic potions shop. Come and get that good old feeling of competition you got when going to the arcade, or just have fun and challenge yourself by trying to get all the achievements for each game.
-
TIMELESS ACTION - The games are designed to be engaging right from the start, it’s up to you if you want to play for just a few minutes or maybe a few hours!
-
HIGH REPLAYABILITY - Master all of the games at your own pace, some will be easier, some will be harder, but practice will take you far. You’ll also get plenty of achievements to challenge yourself while at it!
-
PAST MEETS PRESENT - Bringing you back to that feeling of being just a few points away of the top score, but now with Daily, Weekly and All time leaderboards, you have a reason to keep coming back to try to best others and yourself.
-
AWESOME SOUNDTRACK - Whether you’re fighting frantically with some aliens or comfortably solving some puzzles, each game has the perfect music for it.
