Ravva and the Cyclops Curse
I’m pretty surprised by the potential with this game. It’s pretty short, say an hour for a run if you take your time? But it’s got a bit of replayability to it if you’re going for the achievements or a high score. Once you’ve learnt the game (And you’re going to have to because it’s a pretty tough game until you learn patterns and timings.) the way you play is quite different.
Your first time, you’ll be best served taking your time to scan for secrets with the yellow eye shot and nabbing powerups and spare lives while you progress through the levels. The time limit is generous to the point where it’s rare you’ll hit double digits even combing each level for hidden things so there is no rush except for the sake of points.
! Speaking of which you’ll need 500,000+ of them by the end of the last level if you want to be able to find the secret ending.

Played the game through on Normal Mode on stream and beat it. Here’s my thoughts.
First off, props for the pre-game menu. Being able to set your screen size, VSynch and controls from the start help. I recommend VSynch btw for this game. The game is well-designed: graphics are as expected, gameplay is smooth and responsive, and the game captures well in OBS (for those of you looking to make content for the game).
The tutorial is actual kind of fun, it gives you the information you need without dragging out the time. The acutal game has the appropriate amount of difficulty curve, you won’t feel overwhelmed at the amount of enemies or the timing of the traps. A high amount of secets will let scroungers have their fun, but the game is also perfectly paced for the speedrunner.

Get-A-Grip Chip
Get-A-Grip Chip is a fun platformer for people who know one obvious truth: The grappling hook is the best part of every video game.
Launch yourself around the screen navigating terrain and avoiding hazards. You can’t jump, but you spend the majority of the game airborne. The mechanics and sound design feel crisp. The art design is fun without being overly cutesy. The difficulty is intermediate. If you sometimes play games casually with friends/family this is a game that can be picked up pretty quickly and where you can make meaningful progress without being super deftly handed. The game has full controller support, but it plays fine with a Mouse and keyboard. The checkpoints are frequent enough not to inspire extreme frustration. At the same time, each level has secrets and collectibles that require stronger play. It also has a global speedrunning scoreboard for every level, and achievements for completing every level without dying so beating levels without using the checkpoints at all and finding the fastest possible path is rewarding and gives very strong players something to do after completing the main game.

I really enjoyed this title - the mechanics are smooth and easy to employ. I played it on keyboard and mouse and the game itself recommends that the player should use a controller. I really liked keyboard and mouse. Its a great platformer to speedrun; for a greater challenge try to find all of the battery bots. There’s 8 per level and some are overt, others are hidden. There’s a fun rhythm grab, pull, and release. Building momentum is part of the fun. The set pieces on each level keep the game interesting. The highlight is the cute character design and the soundtrack, which I loved.

The art and narration are good with a Nintendo style side movement and jump. Good graphics and compelling story line suitable for children.

BIG-Bobby-Car – The Big Race
As the current world record holder of the Any% speedrun for this game I must say it’s a pretty fun experience if you have a soft spot for weirdly fun kids games. Having done a 100% speedrun and failed another attempt at it, I would not recommend running the 100% category unless you are deliberately looking for a bad time. You have to finish twelve of the races/missions four times, one time in the story mode and then three more times to beat the Bronze, Silver and Gold challenges. On top of that, it is required to collect eight golden stars (among hundreds of other collectibles) which spawn at random times in random locations and disappear again after a while. Gathering those eight stars without losing a ton of time requires more luck than getting a decent time in a “Where’s Waldo?” speedrun. After being through the torment of completing a 100% run and failing another one, Any% feels like a walk in the park and is actually a lot more fun now. So I guess my miserable experience with 100% had some benefits afer all. If you’re looking for an entertaining speedrun try the “BIG-Bobby-Car – The Big Race” Any% category, you won’t regret it. Unless you don’t like weirdly fun kids games. To everyone else: Good luck, have fun!

The Addams Family: Mansion Mayhem
Unfinished game at the moment. No controller support and forces 2nd player to use same keyboard for remote play together. Even then they cannot pick a 2nd character . Keyboard controls are pretty awful. Will change my review if they fix the issues.

Love the Addams Family, but a party game without solid controller support isn’t much of a party game… very disappointing.
