Sarcophag

Sarcophag

Surprisingly not removed from Steam yet, Sarcophag is an achievement spam (5000 achievements for loading the game!) match-3 game/ripoff of Bejewelled.

This one is particularly bad, it doesn’t even have a working fullscreen mode, and features only very basic matching with no tricks or special blocks. You can play better match-3 games for free on mobile or in a web browser, so I can’t recommend anyone pays for this.

tldr; achievement spam bare-bones bejeweled type game. Will crash steam client and game a few times.

Similar to a bejeweled type of game, this bare-bones game is really just an achievement dump and trading card grab. There are so many achievements pinging at once, in fact, it crashed my steam client an temporarily froze the game. You’ll likely find yourself starting a new game once or twice if you’re on that achievement hunt because of this. Unlike similar achievement-spam type games, like Zup or Oik Memory, there really isn’t any reason to replay the game (there are better “just for quick funsies” type mindless games), so you’ll uninstall afterwards and never look back.

I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!1

I highly recommend this game if your looking for a good twin stick shooter that won’t take much of your time. From playing the Xbox 360 version to now the Steam I can tell you that this game hold up very well. What makes it better that it is a free experience so if you don’t enjoy it you just have to uninstall. When you get a chance definitely take some time into playing it.

FINALLY. This was easily one of my favorite games back on Xbox Arcade. It’s not that it’s a huge game. To be fair it’s a chaotic mess, but it’s so much fun. The soundtrack meshes perfectly with the gameplay too and was well worth the $1 cover charge the game used to require. Hopefully “I MAED A S0NG W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT” makes it’s way to Steam soon as well since we can have soundtracks now. The only thing that could make this game better is more of it but for a bite sized 10 minute adventure this one is hands down one of the best.

DeadOS

DeadOS

DeadOS is less a game and more a really entertaining toy where you generate a city, populate it with people, and watch a zombie outbreak of your creation slowly take it over. There’s no win/loss state, and your only task is to keenly observe as zombies convert the living, civilians run in droves from the impending horde of undead, and cops create blockades around infection zones to slow the spread.

Though the graphics and presentation are simple, the scale of the simulation impressed me; up to ten thousand people can be simulated in the city. It’s oddly satisfying to watch a fleeing crowd of hundreds, abstracted as a bunch of scurrying yellow dots seen from a bird’s-eye view.

There’s no other game on PC like this. It’s already a pretty nice little sandbox game as it is now, can’t wait for all the features that come out for it over time. I completely recommend this game.

No Hope

Excellent 90-minute classic-style survival horror. It is occasionally possible to get softlocked if you aren’t efficient enough, but starting over isn’t a huge deal– the game is fairly short and fast once you know the route.

It was my first Point & Click AVG. It’s very short but funny. I remember I spent about 2 hours clearing the game in one afternoon when I was a kid. I spent 3 hours this time. Seems my brain is old now.

Used to play this when I was a kid, loved it. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. Finished the game in 2 hours when as a kid it probably took me weeks. I recommend this for a child but be warned that there are skulls in the game, pretty PG though.

Zombie Ballz

Zombie Ballz

Simple fun puzzle game, direct / redirect the rolling balls that have varying characteristics and kill the zombies whilst avoiding killing the good citizenes of errrr-i-dont-actually-know-where-ville.

Very recommended. 7/10. But I liked the wacky bosses in Save Jesus more, they had more character and better cutscenes..There haven’t been any boss cutscenes in Zombie Ballz and I’m half-way through now.

Tip: Right-click to stop the camera zoom/panning.

This game to me has many flaws and many positive points.

We’ve seen thousands of “ball” physics games, in which you have to make your way through many different levels, using different kinds of weapons/balls, working your way out by timing shoots, creating your mental scheme, anticipate the position of the enemies when you have blown up one or two barrels/crates/bombs and so on.

I mean, there’s a lot of these games.. physics puzzle games are one of the most played category in Flash websites and not only.

I seriously enjoyed the game. I feel like with updates, it got a little easier because zombies would never spawn around the map. I am kind of tilted that it cuts off around day 30 something, and tells you thanks for playing. I felt like this was a huge issue for me. I think the game is very time consuming, and the infection rates are a little intense, and I found some bugs where you would suddenly be sick, and dying.

I am very unhappy with the fact I cannot continue my play through, and have to experience it all over again and again just to get that itch of the game. I honestly hope they incorporate a regular mode, or a dlc where you play as the son. constantly worrying about being infected is a little rough, I am very unhappy that I cannot continue my play through!

The story is fascinating and I like the twist in the zombie survival genre about “What life is like after being bitten?” I absolutely love it.

There are however a few things that need to be balanced such as food and water supplies. It makes the game much harder than it needs to be and to perhaps add more resources to at least upgrade workbenches so that the player can achieve self-sufficiency.

Also maybe add a few quality of life upgrades such as the ability to delete old save files, for example.

Dream Knights

Dream Knights

i really like this game, the art is beautiful and it feels like a dream.

Real player with 0.3 hrs in game

Dream Knights is “mostly” a “template flip”, that is to say, it’s a “game” that has been produced by copying a game template from Construct 2, changing a few things, then dumping the barely functional “product” on Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab (I already mentioned the developer changed a few things but they seem to want me to make sure people know they changed some things in the template). In this case it was the Construct 2 template for doing a simple retro platformer game. Dozens of “games” have been dumped on Steam using the same template, and it’s terrible.

CELLAR | Rags and Knife

CELLAR | Rags and Knife

This is an odd little roguelike. It’s a very zoomed in map that is on screen and the aesthetic is very lofi pixelart with letters for the monsters. It’s kind of ASCII plus but barely plus. There’s some cool music that sounds like it came from a niche 1970s horror film.

I’m not sure how much procedural generation there is in the levels. There seems at least to be several set areas like the start and an area later with a fight in progress before you get there.

There’s different weapons to pick up and armour- just one armour for the whole body like “hoody” or “rags”. The weapons break. When you kill stuff you get xp and when you level up you can pick one of two skills.
