WAVE RIDER

WAVE RIDER

This is a REALLY fun 3D arcade style casual racing game that handles very well with just a keyboard, although it is optimized for a controller. This is a throwback to games like Cruisin’ USA and Road Blaster except it’s actually set in the future, as far as the story goes. The visuals and music add a lot to the solid gameplay.

I only have two problems with the game: there are only four levels (currently) and there is this weird thing in the first two levels where you kind of stick to the walls when you run into them. This is by design and not a bug but it got really irritating until I realized why it was like that. To the developer, you may reduce the stickiness just a tad so that it isn’t debilitating so early in the game. However, after a short time, it didn’t affect me very much.

Smackball

Awesome game capable of providing an immense amount of fun for you and your friends! It is easily noticeable that the game was made with love and polished to perfection. This can be seen from the visuals, which are clean but very pleasant, to the mechanics and gameplay, which are perfectly balanced.

What looks like a very simple game, quickly turns into an addictive, fun and competitive experience. The amount of game mode customization is huge. Controls and mechanics are easy to pick up, but try playing with a person who has twice the hours you invested in the game (or more)… Hint, it’s crazy fun to do that.

Smackball is a competitive two-player game with a simple concept, but a lot of depth in it’s mechanics. While it is easy to learn the basic controls, you will need to master the time management and stamina control if you want to beat your friends. The game has few game modes, and each of them has a unique point that makes them interesting. Personally, I recommend the power ups mode as it has a little bit more tactics in it than the other modes.

I know I’ll get fitter playing this game.

What the hell is a burpee? What is this one handed push-up nonsense? Squats I’m good with, running is fine, jumping without hands above my head is great. Punching the discs is fine. The points system is mad, I couldn’t compete in a points table in this unless there’s a dad-bod mode tiered system for middle-aged e-sport leagues.

This game has taught me much about my fitness levels. 1) I’m not fit enough to complete 30 minutes inside this game with a high score. 2) it doesn’t matter, because even if I do half of what the game is asking of me, I’m still moving and that’s an improvement on sitting on my arse at the desk.

5/5! Great improvements, new features, and updated songs, thank you!

VALVE Index Users:

  1. NO BURPIES! NO JUMPING, NO SHOES, SLOW TRANSITIONS B/W POSITIONS – unless your cables are suspended from above.

  2. Wear the controllers like wrist watches.

  3. Wash/disinfect your face gasket regularly. Steam Support recommended warm water or 15-30% alcohol wipes.

I’ve been playing this since it came out. I love this game so much that, even though I bent/broke my cable, Steam sent me a new cable and I still love this game!

I must acknowledge the good and the bad about this game.

The positives are : this game has a great mechanics and physics so it has a great potentials to become a good game but not as in current status, the ball movement is satisfying.

The negatives are : this game in my opinion is not finished yet so the creator must work more on it, plus it is over priced ( 10 $ for 24 levels ) i finished the game in 15 min while drinking my coffee so i don’t think it worth that much of money.

Got an awesome discount and bought it for a try, good for achievements. It’s not worth the full price.

Continued playing so I didn’t feel like a complete shit.

Had a few laughs as I was having a mental breakdown through it.

If you have patience you’ll go through level 12.

You can finish this game in 30 minutes, but you’ll let it be for 2 hours for 100% (minimized won’t count.. sob).

Music is quite alright.

It is FINE but uninspired.

The best part about the game is the soundtrack which is excellent.

Each level starts essentially the same, then there are several variations, none of which are particularly interesting.

I’d love to give this a thumbs sideways but I am going to go with no for this one.

“Glow Ball” - The billiard puzzle game

“Glow Ball” - The billiard puzzle game

Glow Ball - The Billiard Puzzle Game has a really great concept. A puzzle game where you use the mechanics of a pool table, but instead of a pool table, you have a series of balls and unusual “tables” and pockets.

The glowing balls and shadows make the game look great, too, despite the otherwise lazy minimalist/low poly environment. Unfortunately the controls are finnicky, and the puzzles are more frustrating than enjoyable (admittedly I am not the best at billiards to begin with). If the game was a little easier this would be a great casual puzzle game. The $5 asking price is a little high given the issues with the game. It’s hard to give a thumbs down to a game I wanted to like, but couldn’t.

Real player with 34.6 hrs in game

Pool with puzzle elements, seems like a nice combination, right? Well, I guess the idea could be nice if it was well executed, which “Glow Ball” sadly does not.

I do not have any problem with games that do not have superb graphics but Glow Ball’s graphics are amazingly ugly in a way I find it amazing people are able to create these kind of graphics in 2014. Especially the main screen looks atrocious and almost funny.

The gameplay could have been interesting. Like in regular pool you will have to shoot your balls in the holes, the only difference here is you will have to avoid fire traps, canyons and other contraptions. The only problem with this is that the physics are nothing like real Pool, which is ofcourse one of the most important things that should be right in a game like this. Then there’s the power bar of the cue which is very slow and does not make much of a difference.

A good game of logic, allows you to relax between work, but not lose strength and concentration. Also, this game has a sequel, which is also quite good. The game has several mechanics similar to the “save jesus” game. Pretty good physics, with which you can go through the game in various ways. In general, it is recommended to purchase

Textbook-assetflip; enough said.

This game is some weird german football adaption of the game Angry Birds: you hit several objects and obstacles and… well… score a goal. Needless to say that this game is entirely built with Unity assets.

There is not much more to say about this game. There was no real effort in building something enjoyable at least from my point of view.

Physical impressions:

The Graphics:

Not worth mentioning basically because there is no viewable work by the developer(s). Everything is Unity.

2D Baseball Duel

2D Baseball Duel

A baseball game like I’ve never seen before. The outwardly simple gameplay proves to be shockingly deep, and the uniquely clean art, witty writing, and catchy soundtrack complete the package. Well made all around and definitely worth picking up.

Disclaimer: I made the soundtrack for this game but I was otherwise uninvolved with its development.

This game is hilarious and good old fashioned arcadey fun. I don’t want to spoil anything, but you should play through the entire single player campaign. I was laughing the entire time. I could see the 2p mode catching on in competitive circles as it’s a great mix of mindgames + execution. With the crazy number of unlockable pitches + the breaking ball mechanic there is a ton of depth there to explore. It amazes me that this was all made by one person, from the programming to the game design to the art. Looking forward to future releases from Largemann!
