Anti-Jump-Man

Fun! Very short (~15 minutes) but it’s free so I don’t mind. Feels like a good gamejam game.

It’s aggressively okay. I feel like this was most likely made because someone asked “can you make me a game that represents a basic puzzle platformer played by someone who has terrible visual migraines?”

Play with mouse and keyboard, pad is not optimal.

Bro, where’s My head???

Bro, where’s My head???

If you have ever played Zup & Oik series then you are not missing much. It’s basically the same concept. Although I do think this is an easier version of that game. It is a good place to start if you feel that some levels of “Zup & Oik” are sometimes hard to complete.

I recommend it to people who are starting out in these types of puzzle games and need time to adjust to the dynamic of the plays.

Overall, not a bad one in the bunch and a game that just about anybody can play.

Some people and myself included are problably fine with the fact that this game is a “Chocolate makes you happy” or even “Next” rip off in a way.

Despite the fact that it’s actually a pretty darn good one! It runs fine and it has a fun art style!

Many may not think so but looking past how simple “Bro where’s my head??” may be to some, you see complexity and creativity above all.

The road to victory presented in each level requires players to employ basic problem solving skills and rudimentary thinking.

Metrico+

Metrico+

What at first appears to be a statistically average looking puzzle platformer (following the linear and predictable path from left to right) Metrico+ soon begins to experiment with your expectations. Skewing the results of your actions and forcing you to change your methodology in order to reach a satisfactory conclusion.

In other words - jumping for that platform may not go exactly as you planned.

Metrico+ is a puzzle platformer game with a simplistic appearance that is also compelling at times. The first couple of levels show some promise, but starting around the third level it begins to get a bit obnoxious. There is no story provided, so don’t be going looking for one. There are control issues (you can’t turn and shoot until you are fully turned around) that add a layer of irritation, but it’s nothing that can’t be adapted to. I got this from the Humble Bundle recently, and while I enjoyed it starting off, what got to me was the 2nd half of the game.

Great concept, better execution. + for both sound and visual design, options to customise both would make it even better, however i cant find a negative, hope to see more!

The Judgement of Q

The Judgement of Q

After i tried it, i’m not considering it as a puzzle game only, but also a brainstorming game, where you think through this short trip about the meaning of life and about the truth of it (that’s how i would describe it). Great game from an ambitious developer and i hope there will be more games like this.

The judgement of Q is one of those simple games to play when you want to chill, the puzzles are thought provoking, but not frustrating. The soundtrack is soothing and harmonic with the progression of the game. The environment design is the most beautiful aspect of the game, giving the player a sense of discovery and curiosity, that goes along with the narration, which can get somewhat confusing at times, but the game is mostly visual anyway.

There are occasional FPS drops between loading screens, but nothing that will completely upset your experience. It’s an overall calm and relaxing experience with meaningful implications.

CONET|コネット

CONET|コネット

“Conet” is an extremely simple one-on-one strategy game of dots and boxes.

Black is the first player and white is the second player.

Clicking the square dots will connect them with lines to any other adjacent square dots that have already been clicked, scoring you one point for each line formed.

Both players take in turns clicking the square dots until they have all been clicked, and the player with the most points wins!

The special “lonely points” rule also means that any square dots that have not been connected to any others are worth three points each.

Manifold Garden

Manifold Garden

I have been waiting for this game for a long time and when it finally landed on Steam a year late, it was a day 1 buy in no questions asked. I finished it in a couple of days and it was worth every penny. I played this one off the back of finishing Antichamber and it might just be the perfect comedown game to that, The Witness, Portal or The Talos Principle. That hollow feeling I get when I say goodbye to an awesome game was nicely filled in by Manifold Garden and I’m here to tell you why.

PROS

Real player with 26.0 hrs in game

It’s a great game. Fun and satisfying puzzles, interesting mechanics and themes, and fantastic visuals. For me, the first playthrough was just right in gameplay and difficulty - some thinkers, but nothing that stumped me for too long. A very enjoyable experience. One minor criticism is that it’s very linear, whereas I was expecting something more in the vein of Space Hole.

[Spoilers may follow, I’m making this a mini-guide to secret content.]

However, if you only play it once to the ending, you’re missing out on a significant portion of the game (including a second ending). And yet the game barely even prods you in that direction. I only knew to look because of the achievements and a couple things I noticed in my playthrough (not that I had any recollection of where they were once I was done). You have to really, really be looking and scour every nook to find the path through the second playthrough. I almost felt like I needed a map of the whole game - and I have no idea what that would look like, given the nature of the physics. Compared to the relative ease of the primary path, it’s a big change. I personally did not want to spend the dozens of hours on it, so I used guides when I wasn’t sure where to go next. The guide on Steam is too vague, so I recommend the video by Lilith LeBlanc.

Friends and I got this game an SRC Leaderboard and the speedrun for both Glitches and Glitchless are pretty fun. Couple of glitches in this game but it makes the speedrun fun and I would recommend this game. The only problem I really have is that it tends to skip frames every now and then but that may be because it wasn’t optimized for more than 60fps.

Really fun and cute game. I enjoyed it all the way to the end and what an end! The puzzles are simple but still worth figuring out. Enjoyed every minute of this game.

The game was started at Global Game Jam 2020 (Theme: Repair) inspired by Another World II. In this game you must “Repair” the broken shapes using different camera perspectives at the same time. You can walk/jump/push. However, it’s not enough sometimes. You need to change your “Perspective” and sometimes your “Dimension”.
