Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk

Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk

(How do you feel?)

  • I definitely feel. Sometimes that’s more than enough.

(Still, you’re anxious, aren’t you?)

  • Of course. Moreover, I’m completely terrified. Was it that obvious?

(You’re looking in every direction, but not up.)

  • Ah, this…

  • I’ve already told you, haven’t I?

(About what?)

  • Ah, you know, small stuff.

(Can small stuff make you terrified?)

  • It’s… hard to explain.

I climb up the metal railing and let my legs hang down. I sneak short glances at the abyss from time to time. It replies with angry, cold breath. That’s how we interact. Like old friends.

  • Sometimes I feel like the whole world pretends to be crazy.

  • As if it’s trying to make me believe in something that doesn’t exist.

(That’s weird, isn’t it?)

The game is a sequel to Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk.

The game’s events begin the same moment the first game ends.

GAME’S KEY FEATURES:

  • Psychedelic narrative full of pyramidal verbal constructions.

  • Stylized pixel graphics which reflect the girl’s distorted perception of the world.

  • High variability: each playthrough is unique. However, some dialogue lines, images and scenes have only a small chance of appearing; you’ll have to really get close to the girl in order to find out everything she hides.

  • Oppressive and viscous soundtrack.

Really a beautiful exploration and discovery game of interactive art pieces. Just passed level three in the game and was blown away, being there inside these imaginary places and wanting to discover what was happening and what was just out of sight. The music is soo good and really helps with the travel into the paintings and by setting the mood. Exploration is so rewarding.

I would not enjoy Enzo Cucchi’s art by itself, and I did not know who Enzo is before I played this game, I’ve seen a lot of similar works by artists with similar career paths and I am not a fan. ‘Fine art’ as it would be called. But Cuccchi is not just a gallery, it isn’t just a resource for an artist, although it is also that, it is a game in of itself which the gallery part excluded is mostly original, it honestly would have a chance of qualifying as transformative fair use if it wasn’t made with the blessing of the creator (which I’m like 79% sure it is).

My story with this game has been one of love and hate. The reason I bought the game (and created the Steam account) was the feeling it aroused in me when I remembered the good times I had as a child playing “Adventure” with my friends. However, the first impression with Alt254 was not as satisfactory as I expected, perhaps because I was looking for something similar to the experience lived with one of my favorite video games.

For some reason I kept playing and, despite a few moments of frustration and having found some minor bugs, I managed to complete the game … twice. Now I have seen a new update, but I don’t think I will play a 3rd time again to see the changes. What I am clear about is that it is a game that deserves a chance (sometimes it makes you want to quit) and that it may become one of those hidden gems that every player should enjoy! Congrats to the team!

In short, I really like the game, but I can’t recommend it due to the bugs.

I like the minimalist design. It’s interesting how much can be conveyed with just a small number of multicolored square blocks. Music is also nice and retro. Good ambiance. Controls have been improved and are smoother than when it was first released.

I don’t like that the enemies respawn every time I use a save point to heal. As a design choice, I would have the enemies respawn in areas further away from the save point (that is, everywhere else), but not just around the corner. Maybe if they respawned everywhere beyond 200 blocks in any direction of the save point, for example. But, I suppose I can deal with it.

Fun! Very short (~15 minutes) but it’s free so I don’t mind. Feels like a good gamejam game.

It’s aggressively okay. I feel like this was most likely made because someone asked “can you make me a game that represents a basic puzzle platformer played by someone who has terrible visual migraines?”

Play with mouse and keyboard, pad is not optimal.

Indecision.

Indecision.

Indecision was a neat psychological experience with a few jokes. If you like these games I would recommend not reading this review to keep a fresh mindset. The game is made out of small escape rooms and sometimes there is more than one way to leave. All exits seem to lead to the same linear path unless I am missing some clues. The length is maybe 20-30 minutes. However, I am not convinced that you are done with the game after the first playthrough. I won’t give any spoilers but I have found something different later. We could be dealing with one of those sneaky developers.

What can I say about Indecision other than the fact that I wasn’t too indecisive to buy it?

Maybe the fact that I should have been.

Did you watch the trailer on the store page? If so, you already know almost everything of what this game is about.

Did you watch someone else play it? If so, you’ve already experienced everything this game has to offer.

For such a short and cheap game, I must say it was enjoyable. Most puzzles have straightforward solutions but getting to figure them out (which, for a first time, is usually a surprise all its own) feels… Well, for lack of a better word, rewarding.

Nira

Nira

Nira is a pixel based RPG which heavily reminds me of the old Holy Grail on the Atari 800 from back in the 80s.

The price is very generous for the content, hard time, and updates to come.

I purchased this game moment it was released as I could not bare to be without Nira once the beta ended.

I had the opportunity to play this game and help with debugging and suggestions along with many others who helped out as well.

The game is quite simple to learn, and very enjoyable. It’s one of those games you start playing then realize the day flew by.

I’ve been really enjoying playing Nira, so far, I know it’s early days right now but I find the gameplay engaging and the items satisfying to obtain and use.

It’s very easy to get into; the way that the tools progress leads you nicely through the crafting tree, the combat is simple and rewarding (especially once you have gathered enough resources for projectile weapons), and I enjoy the foraging/farming aspect, it’s nice to see crops that you have gathered, or traded for, grow.

I cannot speak to the multiplayer myself, as I have yet to try it, but I enjoy the single player mode immensely.

Choco Pixel 6

Choco Pixel 6

Almost identical to Choco Pixel, Choco Pixel 2, Choco Pixel 3, Choco Pixel 4 and Choco Pixel 5, except for a couple of new ideas.

Minimalist puzzle game with 50 levels. From level 1 to 30, it is pretty straightforward, but then, some of the levels are very challenging. And as far as I am concerned, I really like this mix between easy and difficult levels, I enjoyed playing this game.

One of the main issues was that, sometimes, after working out a solution for a difficult part of a level, you have to be careful and think about how to get out of this part of the level. If you make a mistake, you will be stuck with no way of getting out, so you will have to restart the level, and try to remember how you solved the difficult part, which is not always easy …

The game is amazingly retro, block like, simple 2d shooter, amazingly constructed in a way that inspires the “WOW” in you as that first binatone console wow’d you in the 1970’s. This is gourgeous gaming at its best. But devilishly hard and mind numbingly addicting.

You start with a map of the area in which you battle, whcih is a cube 10x10, a 100 levels, with 8 bosses. You make you way across these by conquering each in series starting from the bottom left.

The game consists of a moving restricted area that you move your ship (square block) though. You can shoot, and direct your shot where you so desire. Your objective is to shoot the other blocks wandering around aimlessly, some of which disintegrate, others of which break into many blocks, which you have to destroy or quickly avoid. The movement is at such a pace, that you have to actively move, and select targets which will save you getting into contact with them and recieving damage. As you progress across the map beating each zone, the difficulty ramps up, the enemy changes characteristics. Some stages the blocks grow to become more of an obsctacle the more you shoot them, making you want to avoid shooting them at times. The you have blocks which shoot back.

This is what happens when the shooter games like Raiden and Asteroids get togeter at a MineCraft orgy. Great game, smooth character movement, sound track works great with this game. This game makes me keep playing becuse you feel like you can clear the level on the next try. Epic boss battles. Love the power ups for the weaps and sheild. I like the non linear level map, great to explore new levels or jump around if you get stuck. Very addictive.

Tower Defense like it has to be!

With the old Version, Level 15 was challenging, but with last update, up to level 60, it is harder.

After 20 hours i’m happy that i’ve reached 54.

Yes it lags documentation but take it like another quest to figure out how all SIX towers work.

What it really lags is an undo. At least of the last move. Missclicking is really anoying.

Choose Dilemmas wisely, you only get 8:

3 void or panic

5 dread or doubt

7 heart or doom

9 magma or doubt

I love to come across strategy games which are presented minimalistically - in both in gameplay and UI. I see this game shining with unlimited potential in the future of the Tower Defence genre. I really like the pricing strategy of the dev too. Buy this one soon!

PROS:

1. Properly minimal (if you like that). I mean, this game is pretty much the barebones essentials of a classic TD with a clever twist.

2. The Clever Twist: Mazing. There’s many strategies to win, and it helps if you can solve a maze by just looking at it.
