Serious review alert, no memes here.

This game is a hilarious action platformer and is genuinely really great, it’s definitely one of the funniest games I’ve ever played but also has challenging and fun gameplay, though it’s a bit unpolished and frustrating at times.

There’s a lot of small bugs I encountered, but they were mostly just funny to see and didn’t really get in the way (a boss once froze in place and just let me kill them, moving platforms act strange when you go at them from the wrong side, and other even smaller things). There’s also a lot of framerate issues stemming from the lack of optimization, but it’s mostly just during cutscenes and doesn’t inhibit gameplay too much.

Ilamentia

An amazing series of exploratative puzzles, and one of the best uses of design space that I can recall.

The game itself is difficult to explain. Its a first person wasd + mouse control scheme with only 4 additional forms of input. Fire, jump, restart, and exit. These functions change slightly from level to level. Sometimes you might not be able to jump, sometimes you might be able to fly, sometimes your fire button does… something entirely different.

There is very little in the sense of hints (usually you have the name of a level and a single short sentence with which to build your guesses). This can be a boon or a curse depending on how quickly you pick up the goal of a stage.

I’ve completed most of the game now and formed a love/hate relationship with it. The gameplay is nice and some of the levels are creative. BUT… Way too much of the challenge in this game revolve around the player not seeing a f’ing thing except the screen flickering or the theme of the world you’re in makes everything a huge pile of shit on your screen. On some levels you have to do platforming while the platforms are hidden and there’s nothing in the level that allow you to judge distances so you have to count in your head to figure when not to press forward anymore. Some levels make you lose your vision as you progress and this theme of not seeing s**t repeats over and over. There is some kind of logic in the puzzles but the rules mostly change as you progress and you will “die” because theres no way you could have known what will happen. I’ll give an example here about the poor puzzle designs here so SPOILER warning incase you’re going to purchase the game.

Love this game and the message behind it ! Even if some levels were frustrating, I’m so pumped now to deal with my emotions in real life ! It won’t be that easy but as said in the description : “you might be able to face them in a much lighter mind in reality, too.”

It’s worth the price and I hope to see more other games from this editor/indie dev !

The only complain I’ve got is the lack of music. There is only one song but hey ! At least you can use Youtube and then listening to some epic music when battling your emotions !

i really liked this game. It explained a lot about certain mental disorders in a very interesting way. Despite it being a challenge to beat each level, it also made sense as to why. It’s a challenge to get past the certain problems. This game is it’s own sort of unique and really showed the developers really knew what they were doing.

Dizzee Rascal… That’s who I think of when I play this.

The classic, eclectic, UK urban electro music ebbs and throbs relentlessly; commanding attension while you tightly weave through the madcap, claustrophobic arenas of baddies and laser trip wires. BONKERS

It’s manic, rude and …technical, just like that singer.

Drones has a very cool sprite based 3d trickery that is 100% pulled off. That stuff always impresses me.

I’m not amazing at these games at all and the addition of little tips in between levels brings you up to scratch on the best way’s to herd enemies into your smart bombs.

Although very simple, the game’s proposal is very solid “Distribute the weights in the remaining blocks”. It was a longer game play than I expected, but it was a plus for me as the game has a window mode so I just played casually while doing other things.

the bosses suck. who ever designed them is mentally retarded.

Overall I liked it a lot but it does have a few (very) rough edges. Shmup combined with metroidvania should be self-explanatory but what drew me to the game was tactical combat where you get slower while attacking, there are timed dodges and there are abilities that use the same resource bar as dodges. That makes it a solid foundation for some good bullet hell. Most of the bosses are very well designed and you get rewarded for exploration handsomely, with equippable accessories that modify your ship in various ways. Unfortunately there are a few issues I’ve had with it:
