LightBreak

Description

LightBreak is an art-focused, narrative-driven musical game. Discover the story of Ava, a young traveler who has undertaken numerous adventures and now wishes to return home to recount her tales to her mother. Ava, however, has lost her voice, and due to her mother’s blindness, she cannot rely on visual storytelling. Ava’s one form of communication with her mother is the powerful musical instrument she wields.

The game features a unique gameplay, blending puzzle elements and music to create a dynamic music creation environment. In LightBreak, you control the Magical instrument that Ava is playing - to help her connect with her emotions and communicate her journey to her mother.

Main Features

  • A Novel Approach to Audio-driven Game Design

  • Interactive audio design by an award-winning composer

  • Storytelling game with themes of repair, family, communication, and good vs evil

  • Visual representations of Ava’s adventures

  • Stunning hand-drawn art

  • 3D modeling and animation

Gameplay

LightBreak’s main objective is to help Ava play the correct notes on her musical instrument so that she can describe her tales and reconnect with Mother after many years of separation.

The Gameplay is a novel narrative-driven fusion of Audio and puzzle elements. Each face of the magical instrument represents a “track” on the bigger mix. sometimes, your Instrument is out of tune, and you need to tune it to play the music correctly. Eventually, players will enter flow as they essentially create music by fixing up each track of the music. When they find the correct tune, the environment changes drastically as the instrument will render the music and show the visual representation of Ava’s memories connected to that song.

Newton’s Life at Home - Pixel Art Jigsaw Puzzle

Newton’s Life at Home - Pixel Art Jigsaw Puzzle

Even if I didn’t already think this was especially good among other jigsaw puzzle games, I’d be recommending this one because IT LETS YOU ZOOOOM OH MY GOD WHY DON’T MORE JIGSAW GAMES LET YOU ZOOM?! Being able to zoom in on the puzzle makes the higher piece counts actually enjoyable, which is usually a huge shortcoming with these types of games. MY EYES THANK YOU, DEV!!

But even without the zoom feature, this is probably the best jigsaw game I’ve played. I do digital jigsaw puzzles to relax after work, and this one eclipses every other one I’ve played because:

After 31 hours, I have finally finished all of the puzzles. The pixel art and color scheme are incredibly cute. I bought not too long after the release, while there was a bug that prevented achievements from popping up. The developers worked hard and it was fixed in about the same week. If you have a couple bucks to spare and are looking for a cozy puzzler, this one’s one I recommend!

Shu’s Garden

Shu’s Garden

So cute. I actually don’t mind the music either. (I usually play games without music), Only a couple of probems, 1) I can’t figure out what it’s all about. I hear crashing sounds and sometimes when I go past the glowing white rock I go faster. If I don’t keep planting on a planet all the plants die. But what else? What is the crashing? What do I do with the bee? How do I get the giraffee unstuck from wherever it’s stuck in (its in a blue place. just blue, can’t even see him) 2) It gets me dizzy. I get motion sick and man, this game gets me dizzy. I wish the camera movement were different so I didnt feel like I am spinning with my character. Still, over all its fun for a few minutes of chilld rolling around on various planets.

A cool mix between “Aether” from the Basement Collection and “Proteus”. If you don’t like games without goals, this is not the one for you. Shu’s Garden is one of those peaceful games with an enjoyable and colorful world. It’s a game you can play to relax, relieve stress, and just forget about your day to day life. A game doesn’t need an end and I think people forget that. In this game one must travel and encounter unique events on their own randomly. There is no goal, it’s just a nice free roam. The game features gravity, allowing the player to jump to new planets. The music is enjoyable and doesn’t annoy after a while. If you need a little relaxing escape, this game will not disappoint.

Botanik

Botanik

So it’s a game that on your storepage even admits has 10 minutes of playtime, with the gameplay of watering plants and making a garden, with the core selling point being that you can also see the garden of everyone else that owns the game. How was this not going to turn into a plant graveyard?

Real player with 0.8 hrs in game

Botanik is an interesting game. You can mainly take care of your plants and visit others gardens, though presumably most people have abandoned their gardens and have left them dead. I wish there was more to do, but is not a bad game at all.

catch the stars is a charming cross between hook and sinkr , with some always unnecessary cat stuff throw in. you’re basically creating constellations by moving stars and removing lines, similarly to the games just mentioned.

Lost Dream

Lost Dream

First, there was WORK TRIP. A short and simple Game in a colourfull World. Lighthearted and chilling with a nice Music. And so was the second Game HIKE. It was like that, too, but it added an Exciting Atmosphere.

Now we have the third Game of Morning Shift Studios.

Welcome to LOST DREAM.

At first,LOST DREAMS seems to be inspired by THE FIRST TREE, it feels like a Bow to it.

In both Games we have a wonderfull World, nice Piano Music and a Fox on the Search.

And i like it.

I love this game, though it honestly is tiny. It only took me thirty five minute to unlock all the achievements and play through the game twice. And the second time I was poking around, having fun. You play as a fox who is off to rescue his vixen. In your search you’ll travel across several colorful levels, jumping, swimming, and figuring out a puzzle.

I enjoyed it, but if you are expecting the scope or storyline on The First Tree, you might be disappointed. You are a fox, complete with cute little fox paws and swishy tail. The swimming and running animations are cute, and there are nice details like falling leaves.
