Relax Simulator

~really nice games, good graphics, great sound effects, absolutely horrible music. Does anyone know of any way to turn the awful ‘music’ off ? ..and it would be great if the added more puzzles -or the ability to import some maybe, or a DLC pack ..?

Really a beautiful exploration and discovery game of interactive art pieces. Just passed level three in the game and was blown away, being there inside these imaginary places and wanting to discover what was happening and what was just out of sight. The music is soo good and really helps with the travel into the paintings and by setting the mood. Exploration is so rewarding.

I would not enjoy Enzo Cucchi’s art by itself, and I did not know who Enzo is before I played this game, I’ve seen a lot of similar works by artists with similar career paths and I am not a fan. ‘Fine art’ as it would be called. But Cuccchi is not just a gallery, it isn’t just a resource for an artist, although it is also that, it is a game in of itself which the gallery part excluded is mostly original, it honestly would have a chance of qualifying as transformative fair use if it wasn’t made with the blessing of the creator (which I’m like 79% sure it is).

First, there was WORK TRIP. A short and simple Game in a colourfull World. Lighthearted and chilling with a nice Music. And so was the second Game HIKE. It was like that, too, but it added an Exciting Atmosphere.

Now we have the third Game of Morning Shift Studios.

Welcome to LOST DREAM.

At first,LOST DREAMS seems to be inspired by THE FIRST TREE, it feels like a Bow to it.

In both Games we have a wonderfull World, nice Piano Music and a Fox on the Search.

And i like it.

I love this game, though it honestly is tiny. It only took me thirty five minute to unlock all the achievements and play through the game twice. And the second time I was poking around, having fun. You play as a fox who is off to rescue his vixen. In your search you’ll travel across several colorful levels, jumping, swimming, and figuring out a puzzle.

I enjoyed it, but if you are expecting the scope or storyline on The First Tree, you might be disappointed. You are a fox, complete with cute little fox paws and swishy tail. The swimming and running animations are cute, and there are nice details like falling leaves.

Cardinal Chains

Cardinal Chains

This is a fantastic little puzzle game that offers a simple premise but a lot of depth. Your goal is simple, make chains of integers that only ascend. While this is simple at first, the more complex the board and the more starting points you get make for an increasingly difficult challenge, and with over 500 puzzles you will be at this game for a while. It’s the sort of game you get suck on for hours and then come back to a few days later and solve in a few minutes, and then get stuck all over again.

Secrets Of Soil

Secrets Of Soil

This almost gets a thumbs-up. However, I have to give it a thumbs-down due to the absurdly sanctimonious narrative.

This is amazing for 80% of the game. It’s like an interactive simulation that a prominent Natural History Museum might have on display. Go into this as sober or as high as you like, and take flight through psychedelic soil, while learning the science behind how it produces almost all of the food we eat. Amazing. It almost pains me to not be able to recommend it.

Why can’t I? The end of the game has such a ridiculously pessimistic view of things like global warming, and plowing the f♥♥♥ing soil, that you’d think the world was guaranteed to end before 2022. Then they throw in ridiculous “don’t get me wrong” moments, such as: “don’t get me wrong, chemicals used to grow crops in infertile areas did save tens of millions of human lives, and entire races of people would have otherwise collectively died slow and painful deaths by mass starvation, BUT!!! Chemicals are still pure evil, because…”

If you want a good alternative to LSD, this is for you :D

But in all seriousness, this game is a really fun way to look at and educate about soil, and the effects agriculture has on it. Very well explained and definitely recommended for everyone who wants to learn more about ways to save our planet.

Nice work.

Tetris® Effect: Connected

Tetris® Effect: Connected

Tetris is the king of the puzzle games. The thing practically made the GameBoy sell for 10 years, the longest running console in History.

And with such notoriety, you didn’t necessarily need to improve on the formula. Game sold! Why spend money trying to improve when it’s already perfect?

So over the years, we’ve seen the licence get adapted for garbage mediums. Java. Apps on smartphones. Facebook gigs. Adaptations on stupid consoles. Quick cashgrabs. Still, the licence remained draped in glory.

Summary

Latest iteration of possibly the most well-known block matching puzzle game in the world.

In detail

Over the last couple decades there has been plenty of Tetris games and countless more if you include all clones or ones that somehow borrow the core idea of dropping shapes and having the player match them together. The gameplay needs no explanation, but this brings it officially to the modern systems and adds a couple new spins on it as well.

The game is divided into three main subsections: journey mode, effect modes and multiplayer mode.

The mechanics of this game are so damn good. The simplicity combined with the gravity and multiple clear formations make it both easy to understand and endlessly satisfying to learn and master. Custom color palettes and a plethora of visibility options make Mixolumia very accessible, especially because they can be changed on the fly. That and the high contrast between game modes mean it’s as tryhard or laid-back as the player wants. The base game’s music and sound effects are amazing, but you’re seriously missing out without some fanmade tracks from itch, which are just as quality. Grunge by Lady Saytenn and freefall by LavenderAudio are my top picks. Overall, Mixolumia is my favorite arcade game, block-clearing puzzler, whatever other genres it’s in, and my #3 GOTY 2020.

This game is a masterpiece. Easy to pick up and easy to play for hours. I waited until it went on sale, but I wish I had bought it sooner. It’s more than worth full price.

The graphics are great. The bloom, fireworks, and sound effects combine to make combos extremely satisfying to pull off. If you don’t like the effects you can turn them off. I had to turn off the screen shake, and I appreciate that the option exists.

I like that Relaxation Mode lets you take as much time as you want to place each piece, it makes it easier to learn the game. Playing Relaxation with the Summer Shower music is calming. The sound feedback as you play is genius and my favorite part of the game.

i got this game largely for the level editor although i did play a bit of the campaign

so my main concern is that a fatal memory erro keeps occuring wiping out any of the changes to the leve i am working on, this may ust be me and/or it may just be the level editor but otherwise i have quite enjoyed the game especially for only a dollar it is a good game

TLDR: Bare minimum effort flash grade platformer with Xbox360 pad support. Gimmick here involves a pitch black screen with visibility in radius around protag square tile and some buttons you must push to make pipelines glow up parts of the level. Tight margins for platforming. Game uses a trampoline mechanic that is clunky and hard to execute correctly. Game is bland and boring with no world setting, protag design, foe design or anything interesting. Audio is okay but forgettable.

It might be just me, but I really struggled to finish most of this game except through trial and error. It doesn’t provide that “ahah!” moment of satisfaction - you pretty much just have to rule out the obvious “this won’t work” options, then try different combinations of what’s left at random until you get close enough to the solution that you can spot the last connection needed. It isn’t very much fun, is what I’m getting at.

The game isn’t bad but i never had the sensation to really play with colors. It’s more about making a combination of red, blue and green dots using different transformations to get the right amount of each…
