Cubixx HD

Cubixx HD

5 stars out of 5; it is like the classic game Qix, but based off a cube stage, and it’s possible to play co-op or MP [5 thoughts]

1. i love this game, to me it is very similar to tetris. simplistic but not easy to master

2. soundtrack has some very decent moments

3. picking your laser’s color will change the sound that it makes… this is huge, imagine if sound #1 annoys the hell out of you

4. depth, beating most of the lower stages will not be difficult. making it to stage 50 on arcade will be

This game is a remake version of a Cubixx game from PSP and I think its pretty good to have a content that isn’t available from PSP.

Its basicly a Qix in a nutshell, its a Mixed ideas between Qix and 3D Perspective, giving a Fast-Paced Arcade Slice and Dice gameplay.

Its really addicting to play this game, and added Steam Leaderboard brings more competitive to the gameplay.

The only thing that I really wish is Multiplayer, since this game supports up to 8 players, if I’m not mistaken, and I really wish if there’s an Online mode where you can play multiplayer also.

The reactive difficulty keeps the game challenging as you improve.

Great game, and very replayable.

Blinding little score attack game with a great soundtrack and a devious auto difficulty mechanic.

Check it out.

Defentron

Defentron

Defentron is a pretty relaxing game, despite being a tower defense. The retro look and sound are well done and suitably nostalgic, without needing to rely on gratuitous particle effects, waves, or flashes like some other retro games or genres like to use. The different types of towers all have fun and unique properties, and the enemy variety and additions from stage to stage kept me thinking a good amount, rather than finding one strategy I liked and just using that on everything.

Being able to power up a given turret in a pinch was cool too, but if I have one criticism about that mechanic’s game balance, it’s that it feels necessary to use that function on the basic turrets (at least for the early game), which destroys them afterwards, and it felt like a bit of a waste. That is, instead of trying to plan out placement or turret types to counter different contingencies, I felt like I had to budget my resources to account for “necessary losses” rather than just “acceptable losses,” which made it feel less like a puzzle game at those parts, and more like the traditional gratuitous enemy spam TD games that I don’t like nearly as much as this one.

Defentron is a fun tower defense, and certainly a challenging one. Many levels can really get you stuck until you figure out the right sequence of towers and upgrades to buy, but that difficulty gives the game a lot more longevity and replayability, specially if you are going to try and complete all achievments.

It took me 14 hours to complete everything the game had to offer, which I feel is a good value for the pricetag

One Way To Exit 2

Move forward or backward in search of an exit, but remember: if you start moving, you will not be able to stop.

Take bonuses, destroy obstacles and bosses, but in no case touch them or the walls, otherwise you will have to start from the beginning.

  • 20 levels (new ones will be added after early access)

  • Various bonuses that change your capabilities

  • Controls: WASD / Arrows

Someone is helped by luck to complete this game, someone - reaction speed, someone - prayer.

And yes, if you’ve ever had epileptic seizures, please don’t play it.

As a math nerd, I love it. I’m happy that there’s finally a quick game I can play to relax that still makes me think instead of just brainlessly push buttons and swipe. This is what this genre should be.

NERVE

NERVE

As an avid Thumper player, this game checks all of my boxes.

-dark atmosphere

-killer soundtrack, heavy drums

-high speed, high intensity

-high skill ceiling

The game makes use of all of its mechanics, all of the time. So even though you are encouraged to go fast, there are points where you can’t always be turbo-ing. USE THE BRAKES!

Solid game, and I’m only on world 4. 10/10

EDIT:

After completing the game, I have to recommend it even more.

And the devs are receptive to feedback and are improving the game! There were several unfun issues with a few objects and hitboxes, which have been patched, making this an even better speed game.

RUS:

Game description key-points: pipe fiddler

Real player with 1.6 hrs in game

Level 6 has been fixed. It is now fully beatable.

You click the pipes to turn them around and try to connect the machine with the tank. There’s 30 levels, and they are set up like a maze, where you have to find the right path. I like this approach. However, clicking the pipes is oddly precise and the time limit is somewhat strict on later levels. Also, sometimes the flow gets stuck and you have to reset the connection by spinning a nearby pipe around so the flow keeps going. This may happen several times in the same level.
