Forsaken Remastered

Forsaken Remastered

Note: This game unfortunately does not have joystick support. Still fun as hell to play though

Forsaken was my favorite 6DOF title back in the 90s, and I was elated to see it finally was remastered, and even managed to include content from the N64 version which I grew up with, making it more complete than the past PC/PSX/N64 releases. It looks fantastic in full HD, you can finally adjust your FOV properly, and when you find opponents, the multiplayer is absolutely mental. Also, the addition of a much needed map system was also added, which makesthis game MUCH less frustrating to play, I remmeber losing my mind as a kid getting lost in some levels. Nightdive, you guys rock, love that you did this for your Turok remasters as well.

When a legend was FORSAKEN

Nightdive worked its magic to revive that which had been

FORSAKEN.

Do yourself a few favors:

-Buy the game if you’re even considering it, at least as a fan of the 6DOF genre- because while both this and Descent couldn’t be more different thematically, both games were (at least in my biased opinion) leaders of a new genre that has only recently seen some new life since the very inception of it back in the ’90s. The remaster does not stray from the original formula, instead only facelifting the long-since-abandoned PC version, which has been left to be remade by the fans (producing a version without the memorable sountrack, and stylistic HUD elements.)

As a big fan of 6DOF games i had to give this game a try.

So i played the free demo 20 minutes then instantly bought the game !

Really good gameplay, tight controls and great sense of speed.

The level design is quite good too with nice music and great atmosphere within the levels.

BLAST-AXIS also deliver many satisfying weapons to use and also give you the choice to play in first person or third person (worth mentioning as it’s not always the case in many other games).

In this game you play as a cute little maintenance robot fighting blobby blue aliens who have invaded phobos for some irrelevant reason. It isn’t the most polished 6DOF (descent-like) shooter, but it probably is the most unique and original, and it might just be the most fun. The game’s main strengths are solid level design and a diverse and fun arsenal.

There are six weapons in the game but thanks to ammo types and alt-fire modes these unfold into… a lot of weapons, I can’t do the math. For example, the “tube” mortar launcher has three ammo types: flame rounds, grenades, and flak shells. Drilling down further, the flak shells can either be fired in “burst” mode, acting like a shrapnel shotgun, or in “fuze” mode, which fires a single projectile that explodes with AOE damage when it hits a wall or enemy. There’s a tool for every job, and each weapon is a good mix of quirky and powerful which gives them a real sense of personality. They’re your friends and you come to love them as you spend time hanging out. The cluster missiles in particular are an absolute joy.

So I’ve played this now for a few hours on the Rift and i think it’s great! Some people are playing it for like 25 mins and then going it’s too hard etc, have you ever played the one in the arcade all them years ago?? IT WAS HARD! Where is the fun of running through the whole level in easy setting? However for arguments sake maybe have a couple of difficulty settings for you and your Nan?? I have managed to get onto the train in the third level and I am now a little stuck but i will persevere!

I would like to see a few changes though? Spawning with enemy’s at the side of you is a little lame as they are obviously going to be the first ones that you kill? Maybe a riot shield also in your left that can take one hit maybe??

A Sit Down simulator, I would like to say that after playing the first one you will be on the floor all the time. your still doing that in this one as well. the fact that when they say three two one GO they are already shooting up at the spot you are in before GO which gives them a chance to at least tag you. (Same thing in the first Version not enough time to save the Hostages). I would hope they at least simulate shooting maybe 5 seconds before they even aim at you which would give you time to at least react. Overall I still enjoy the game for the challenge and I did beat the game on HELL MODE in the First Version. which took time after you learn which route is easy to manage, but you will be doing a lot of crouching and blind fire. (After playing this from Beginning to End using Consumables to help aid the game, the structure is very well made then the first one. it gives it more of a Time Crisis feel knowing there are BOSS Battles. Only in the first level I’m concerned is that when you aim exactly where the enemy is they will not come out until you aim away from the spot they are at which then kills time on you to move to the next level. overall the other levels fixed that issue with them hiding for long period of time. (Onto HELL MODE)

This is the perfect pirates game. i spent years trying to play this game but my computers never allowed me. now i have had the chance to fully play this game i have to say it has given me hour of fun. do you want to be a merchant and become the wealthiest man in the Caribbean and trade your way to power, or become a privateer and attack your nations foes and bring riches and glory to your nation or do you want to be a feared pirate who will attack anything on sight for wealth and reputation and be the most fearsome man in the Caribbean sea. THE CHOICE IS YOURS. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!

This game is not “good.” It has an extremely high learning curve, no tutorial, a clunky interface, poorly laid out and unintuitive quest objectives, sub-par writing, semi-frequent crashes, and is heavily dependent on the community “Combined Mod” to smooth out its rough edges.

That said, it is the best pure Pirate RPG available. But that probably says more about the gaping hole that exists in the market and less about this game itself. Aside from the brief but very welcome tangent that the Assassin’s Creed franchise took with Black Flag we have not seen a good single player pirate RPG in a long time; probably since Sid Meier’s Pirates. So if you need your pirate fix and are willing to take the time to learn this game, then you will be satisfied. But I can’t help but wonder why we haven’t seen a better Pirate game made.

This is a realy good game i extermly recommend playing this but there are somethings i would suggest to be changed in the campaine i think it would be better if you got to know the end boss guy more because you dont realy know him also the tractor beam it a little glitchy bacause when you use it somethins the gun doesent go into your hand

Real player with 2.0 hrs in game

Great game!

even tho its kinda short, it´s a lot of fun and the mechanics are awesome.

I honestly have only one small problem with it, and that’s that the “tractor beam” sometimes doesn’t work right on the first try.

The Last Place

The Last Place

The Last Place is a charming asset flip where you start on a smallish map, unarmed, surrounded by copy+paste asset store monsters, and you have to go find a gun and shoot them, I guess. There’s no actual defined plot or goal, it’s best described as a survival shooter, except the enemies are just standing around until you trigger aggro on them.

Believe it or not, I’ve played even worse asset flips than this, but this is still pretty bad. I do like the comedy $45 USD price tag, though. That’s more than the developer probably spent on the asset store. What should I recommend to gamers… almost any AAA game on Steam? Or this crappy asset flip? Decisions, decisions.

Remember when we had all those bad VR wave shooters? They’re back! But at least it’s not zombies this time. It’s … murder hornets … the meme VR game. Yeah that’s almost as bad as zombies.

Look, I still enjoy playing a good wave shooter … but this is not it. Not even close. It’s a stand still 180 wave shooter with melee, although you can dodge left or right to avoid the projectiles. There’s basically 3 type of wasps / hornets that look like bees, although there’s several different skin variants. There’s a fast moving one, a regular moving one (big or small), and one that squirts at your face …. not even going to touch that one.

It’s Cheap. It’s loud. It’s Funny. It’s impossibly difficult. I was 100% satisfied with my purchase. (devs, please show me how to turn it down a bit!)

THIS IS NOT A GAME! Think of it more like a tech demo. I knew what I was in for when I bought this because it’s one of my biggest fears “simulator”. I knew all the Jaws movies by heart at 5 years old, I grew up next to the ocean. The FIRST shark made me NOPE THE FUCK OUT! This “game” got put in it’s own collection called “NOPE”. I HATE all of this. I had to let the game idle for 9 minutes just to write this review. If getting eaten by a great white is scary AF to you, get it. If you want an actual game…maybe pass. Video is the whole game.
