Kitchen Island VR

Kitchen Island VR

The core gameplay is fun, and I was having a blast right away. I am happy to change this review as dev’s have now been engaging with the community on bugs/issues. I am hoping they can solve some of the startup issues as I look forward to playing this game with friends more.

The sequel to the 2D game, Fugitive is here! And it’s in 333 DDD

Play hide and seek with your friends on a warm summer night. Hide behind bushes as the Cops search for you. Make your way to the end zone without getting caught! If you’re friend gets frozen by the police, you have to decide if it’s worth trying to go rescue them. Or be the Cops, and drive around in your cop car shinning your flashlight into dark corners.

Features:

  • Cross-platform! VR and Flat players can play together.

  • Server browser: Find a game quickly from any platform!

  • Positional VOIP: hear the fugitives whispering in the bushes as you search for them.

  • Watch the Replay: At the end of the round talk with everyone about how close they were to catching you as you all watch a replay over the round!

  • Free and Open Source!

  • Even runs on Android phones, so your one lame friend with no VR and no PC can still join in on the fun :P

As a Cop

Your job is to hunt down the Fugitives and bring them to justice. It’s a dark night out, and they are good at hiding, so you’ll have to get them in your flashlight to see them. Luckily you’ve got your trusty cop car. You can quickly patrol the streets, picking up your fellow cops and dropping them off strategically around the city.

As a Fugitive

You’re on the run, but Johnny law is in hot pursuit. You’ll have a few seconds head start, stay out of sight! You have to get to the safe zone to escape. But if the Cops see you, you’re as good as dead.

Awesome game, its Overcooked VR.

I’m about a third of the way through the game, and it has gotten really complicated. I’m now chopping, saucing, grilling, cleaning, and plating all at the same time with my friends, and its delightful yet difficult.

Technical:

The multiplayer lobby system is REALLY easy, its just a room code. The Netcode is also really great, the polish is high, I’ve honestly had zero technical issues with the game.

This is a multiplayer-forward game, if you want a more single-player oriented experience, I would direct you to Rags To Dishes.

This is probably the one of the best VR Cooperative games to play with friends when you want something chaotic ala Overcooked. Missions become harder and harder as one progresses, and even with 3 friends requires quite bit of coordination to get past some of the challenges with full 3 stars.

There is also a puzzle mode which is fun to do while waiting for everyone to be ready trying to figure out various recipes. Some feel a bit obtuse tho and dont provide enough hints on solving them.

There are occasionally some bugs as well, but these are relatively minor: Had desync issues (between people playing across europe and us) but this gets solved by reconnecting on the next round and are relatively rare. The mission difficulty also is a bit all over the place with the later where very hard missions (to get full stars on) get followed up with something that is a breeze to 3 stars, but not sure if thats intentional or not.

RUCKBALL

RUCKBALL

Ruckball is a very good game overall, by not just stopping to look at just pictures, it is well worth it if you spend a minimum amount of time there. In terms of mechanics, the game is very accessible, a little hard at first, but largely controllable with a little half an hour of training. You can easily mix fight/ball or just fight to put pressure on your opponents. You have enough to fight back and let off steam!

Very nice graphics, and the atmosphere is there. 3 maps with different degrees of gravity that makes you very happy.

I’d definitely recommend this game to just about anybody who enjoys games similar to Rocket League. While this game is still in early access it has a lot of potential for Esports competitive play and could really be the next big hit if it can get a bigger following. Talked with one of the devs on Facebook and they mentioned they have big plans coming soon with updates in the near future. Try it for free and tell your friends!

Helios Battle Universe

Helios Battle Universe

GAME’S MAIN FEATURES

Helios Battle Universe is a multiplayer shooting VR game.

Various weapons are available, and up to eight players and multi-player combat are available.

Weapons can be acquired while playing. If you don’t die during play, you can store and replace the weapon; if you die during play, the stored weapon will disappear.

For maps, there are two modes:

  • For teleport mode, a minimum of 2 (1vs1) to a maximum of 6 (3vs3) can play.

From the current position, it hits a movable base and moves through an open warp.

As soon as it is moved, it will gain a foothold and score points.

You will also score points by killing enemies on the move.

Combining the scores of enemy combat and the number of base occupation, the team with the highest score wins the final victory.

  • Min 2 (1vs1) for sliding mode~Up to 8 players (4vs4) can play, and it is a way to find and kill enemies to lead to victory.

Smooth movement is possible through the controller, and teleport is possible using the stamina. A team that scores a lot in a set time will win the final victory.

Evasion

Evasion

Excellent performance, medium lenght storyline (~4hs) excellent voice acting, audio and fun gameplay.

This game feels like it has great production value all around, the coop is very easy to host and join games (no mid level joining though)

I played this game a couple of times with my son in coop and its been a blast, the mechanics are simple, but they mix them up a bit to keep things interesting… As the enemies are robots, there is no blood and although violent, id say its family friendly.

BUT the game does feel a bit on the “simple” side, and does get a bit repetitive, in my opinion because you are forced to use the same weapon the whole level. (you choose before starting) The weapons are fun but would have loved the ability to mix it up mid level. and they are all similar, so there is no variation there.

Classic Halo-esque style combat! And it’s Co-op! Very easy to get into VR FPS shooter, think Halo meets Space Pirate Trainer. 9 Levels of Non-Stop Action that ramp up to a variety of different enemy types that require different strategies to defeat without dying (especially if you go at it alone during the last few levels!). Although the gameplay is simple, the player is rewarded for doing more than just point and shoot combat. You get health and surge/power ups by tactically using your whip to pull enemies apart. Kill them and miss a chance at a higher probability of getting a much needed health regeneration vial or that last yellow vial needed to release your powerful “Surge” attack and feel like an invulnerable bad-ass for a few moments. Took about 5 hours to complete alone, could probably finish it in 3 with a partner in Co-op mode. The only thing that could use work is adding the option to have controller directed movement, instead of only headset facing.

Evasive Maneuvers

Evasive Maneuvers

Evasive Maneuvers is a team-based online multiplayer spaceship arena. Between 2-8 players will be split into 2 teams; runners and hunters. Runners are attempting to pickup enough energy to power up the warp gate to allow their escape. The hunters are attempting to prevent runners from escaping by using their ramming ships.

Hunters have abilities that allow them to detect and hinder runners. Runners can avoid detection by deploying defensive abilities and hiding.

Use your surroundings to hide from the enemy. Use your boost if you dare! You may be faster, but are very easily detected. Be wary of when you use it. Work together, stay hidden, and good luck!

MISSION: ESCAPE THROUGH THE WARP GATE

  • Pick up energy orbs to power up the gate

  • Avoid getting hit by hunters

  • Use abilities to evade and hide from hunters

MISSION: PREVENT THE RUNNERS FROM ESCAPING

  • Deny energy orbs by destroying them

  • Ram runners to destroy them

  • Use your abilities to locate and hinder runners
