Thrust & Shoot : Flight School
I’ve been searching for different space simulator games, and this game is definately on the list of REQUIRED games to play. It’s one of a kind in it’s simplicity, and is the absolute answer to “asteroid 3d”. Other games introduce many mechanics that make them their own, or more specially categorized, but this game is alone in ACTUALLY OFFERING “asteroid 3d” flight mechanics. use a game controller, and get used to using the “radar” to change direction towards your objectives right away. (you can’t see anything out the window for now,,, hopefully windows vr will be a plan, so you can at least look to each side,,,, and of course your top will be a good reason to start rolling so up is front)

So, after less than 5 hours, I’ve finished the tutorial… and the game, since so far, the game IS the tutorial.
Yet, I recommend it for anyone who enjoyed Lucasarts X-wing/Tie-fighter as a kid and the piloting part of KSP.
Here are a few pros and cons :
Pros :
-
The innovative realistic piloting system
-
The animations (bullets, missiles, explosions, …)
Cons :
-
The lack of rewarding feedback (U will never know if you’re hitting an ennemy ship until he has 0 hull point).
-
The absence of a campain mode (so far !)

Tarzan VR™ Issue #1 - THE GREAT APE
I grew up reading graphic novels and Sunday newspaper comics. Tarzan happened to be one of those syndicated comics and that’s how I discovered the legendary character and a whole cast of supporting characters.
Stonepunk Studios has taken that hand-drawn comic aesthetic and drops VR players into the jungle as Tarzan himself. Well, technically, his hands.
The first issue, “The Great Ape” sets up a big adventure where you have to swing, swim, fight and explore in an effort to save the jungle from “bad men”.

I’m using i7 7700K (4.5 Ghz), GTX 1080 8GB and 16GB 3200 MHz - and both Valve Index and Rift CV1. Although many textures are very low-res, there are also many nice/great textures, but none even remotely close to Alyx. Still the game looks great - and I like being able to just explore.
The world feels alive and breathing. Did go into the water and it suddenly got deep - and in my mind I started hearing music from Jaws, and I was very quick to get out of the water, lol.
Performance and image quality are great with the Index - 4xMSAA, render scale 1.0 and all other settings maxed make the game look close to the best it can. Motion smoothing is my friend, not my enemy, and I’ll probably need a 3080 to use render scale 1.5 - but MSAA seems most important to reduce jaggies.

Zerograve
Visuals are crisp and clear, game design is very intentional. Sense of space in this game is a bit more open that traditional decent clones, and level designs offer unique combat encounter which will always challenge the player while offering opportunities to innovate tactically. If you are not a fan of the neon aesthetic or feel like the graphics are too simplistic, don’t let that dissuade you. Heck of a lot of fun to play with a HOSAS setup.

Shoot your way through a neon maze filled with hostile drones and battle robot bosses with cool weapons. It’s highly addictive and after each completed stage I was thinking one more! Catchy music too.

Desecrators
OK, first off I was a big Descent fan and more recently a fan of Overload but it didn’t have coop. For me, I thought that was a mistake.
Then along comes Desecrators. It seems to be a cross between Forsaken mostly, and partially Descent. The graphics look cool but are somewhat retro looking. The tanks remind me of Forsaken and the rest, Descent. And best of all, it has coop!!!
The most critical aspect of a 6DoF game is the ship control. The ship control is spot on with the default settings. It feels perfect and very neutral. You can also toggle auto ship leveling. The game allows you to rebind keys and has full controller support.

Another great indie 6DOF game ! 🙂
Desecrators is really promising and already pretty damn good despite being early in development, there’s lot of potential here to create a one of it’s kind 6DOF game.
Good controls, it’s fast and responsive, really nice feeling piloting the ship with just the right amount of inertia.
The weapons are satisfying and there’s many different to use.
Desecrators also have great retro graphics style which remind me of Forsaken.
The levels are procedurally generated so we get a new experience each playthrough and that’s pretty nice !

Tidal Shock
This game is addictive! I find myself wanting to play “just one more round” again and again. I love the array of weapons and the variety of terrain in the arena makes it slightly easier to navigate as you play more. Controlling your character underwater in 360 degrees is a new take that makes this game all the more entertaining and challenging.
I’m not great at this game (or any multiplayer shooter for that matter), but I keep coming back for more. Even if I’m not in the lead, I always feel like I’m still in the running. The lead changes often throughout the round and your position in the game can change in a split second with one profitable kill or one strategic drop off at the reactor.

Tidal Shock
Gameplay
Tidal Shock is multiplayer arena shooter with an underwater setting. At first glance, it looks like your typical shooter where you run and gun to make it to the leaderboards and for the most part, it is just that.
What makes it stands out from other shooters though, is its setting. Instead of running around in corridors or jungles, you swim around underwater. This gives you the freedom to move around both vertically and horizontally. That not only translates to movement but also for enemies to look out for as the enemy can be right on top or bottom of you.

Trajectory Fracture
One more free RV to add to the collection, it doesn’t add much, but you can have a good time trying it out.

Trajectory Fracture is a free to play VR game with 4 different modes of play. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has a two sided menu board, with many gameplay options. You can break stuff for fun. Has 18 steam achievements. The bow puzzle mode is hard. Has steam leaderboard. Looks like the steam achievements will keep you busy with this game.
Try this game, you might like it.

NeonXSZ
It’s not descent, so get that out of your head. It’s way faster pace, and includes millions of upgrade combinations with hundreds of different play styles based on what loot you get and how you combine it together and upgrade. This is a very unique game in that the upgrades are so varied for both the player, the friendlies, and the hostiles, but they are mostly all the same sets! If you can do it, an enemy might do it too.
There are many lovingly made details, good progression that keeps the pace up to whatever speed you choose, and some pretty tough puzzles.

I’ve been playing and testing this game for over a year, since April 2013. I was the first pre-alpha tester and I’ve submitted the most bug reports. I know the game. When I started it was great, and it has just been improved a lot in every area since then. I have played for hundreds of hours if you qount all the non-steam dev builds and while I have tried a lot of different ship loadouts there are still many ships and loadouts that I want to try but haven’t because new things to try is added all the time :) And this is true even after I’ve played past the levels where new qontent is unlocked for every progression!

The Patcher: The 1st Open Beta
“The Patcher” is a full-scale tactical multi-player action VR game.
Be strong! Be ambitious!
You must choose a faction – either ‘Junkmol’ or ‘Skymagg’ – as a Patcher of the Neo JS City. By fighting numerous battles, you will obtain weapons, revamp them, and gain experience. Every weapon and skill have degree of proficiency as you play, so you’ll get stronger as you level up.
Hybrid Multi-play
Don’t forget that you’re one of the factions, even if you fight against monsters on the battlefield. Cooperate with your fellow Patchers! If you succeed in defeating a mighty monster with others, you might get a chance to obtain a rare item. However, when you come across an opponent of the other faction, it’s best to attack right away or retreat and bring in your allies. Your instant decision is critical in each battle.
Various Game Modes
The war between two factions ends only when one side ultimately falls. Get ready for the best result!
-
‘Deathmatch’: Create a party to fight the other faction.
-
‘Conquest War’: Occupy the enemy’s territories for as long as possible, by any means.
-
‘Boss Raid’: Defeat the giant boss with your party members. However, you’re not the only hunters there. Compete with the other faction for the throat of the boss.
Strategic Action Combat
Since the past, the Patchers have fought strategically with three weapons: a sword, gun, and bow. Of course, each weapon has its own characteristics, but you must find which one works best for you and become skillful at using it. The weight, reach, accuracy, and control of each weapon is vastly different and is key to your tactics.
The Storyline of “the Patcher”
_‘Neo JS City’ was once the most beautiful city, and there was a reason for it. The upper classes wanted to get rid of anything they saw as dirty and trivial. That’s why they decided to move all the unpleasant facilities – like the sewage treatment plant and the prison – underground.
Meanwhile, some people illegally and secretly settled in these underground facilities. Their habitation was called the ‘Patch Build’, and they called themselves the ‘Patchers’.
But the environment around the Patch Build was more severe than they expected. Survival got harder and harder. This caused a rupture in the community. Some said pioneering a new land for a better future was be the way to go. Others wanted to stick to the existing land and refine what they already had.
Now, you must follow one of them – and choose your fate!_
