Tinker Racers

Tinker Racers

This game far exceeded my expectations!!

I agree with someone who wrote a review saying “it’s almost like stealing from the developers”. It is very cheap for what it delivers (in fact I still don’t get the price so low, maybe because it is in Early Access …).

After unlocking all the tracks, we spent a lot of time having so much fun at Free For All Mode! 4 people playing it is insane!

The lack of an online multiplayer would be a serious problem for a game like this if it weren’t for Steam’s Remote Play Together. Luckily because of this steam feature we were able to have a lot of fun playing online, so maybe that can be disregarded. If you are playing on the keyboard, just remember to previously agree on which keys each player of the remote play together will play (after all you are supposed to be playing on the same keyboard via stream … it took us a while to realize this).

It’s extremely difficult to speak ill of this game considering the price it charges. It’s dirt cheap, it’s almost like stealing from the developers. And what’s in it for you?

As the game itself says in its description, it is essentially a clone of MicroMachines. It is essentially the same game, with the same principles: you use small (toy) cars, running on tracks that seem to have been assembled by children in their rooms, to play against other cars. If the distance between the first place and the other cars is too great, the cars that touch the edges of the screen are defeated and disappear, until there is only one car left on the track. Then, you win the round, and repeat this for 5 more times.

BAFL - Brakes Are For Losers

Try the demo;

Personal, the championship/custom/quick race i did not care much.

Good effert but should have been multiplayer online as well. but nice shared screenplay.

The challenges are nice to give a try.

Its either time attack or perfect drive.

Bugs:

Pitstop is skippable, and only usefull it the longer/harder tracks.

sound settings not saved in demo.

Ghost mode not working in the demo.

requests:

A general highscore list would be nice (average position in all challenges)

and of couse a trackbuilder :)

BAFL: Brakes Are For Losers:

I have been a car fanatic for many years. In fact, I follow the Formula 1 calendar every single year. Not in person but via Pay TV. In any case, I heard about a racing arcade game where you hardly ever use the brakes, and I thought to myself, what the BAFL is this about?! And then, the light . . . shining above my head with a big inscription – Brakes Are For Losers!

BAFL is retro arcade racing / local multiplayer game where you take on seven other competitive and crazy racers, with a view to winning the mighty BAFL championship.

## Bears Can't Drift!?

### What is Bears Can't Drift!?

Bears Can't Drift is a kart racer that is set in a stylised world and is heavily inspired from Diddy Kong Racing. Players take control of bears and race across a variety of tracks and game modes with up to four players in a split-screen game. Four game modes are available to be played. These include time trial, single race, and checkpoint. As a result of these modes being used in countless other racing games, they are self-explanatory.

The fourth game mode, I'm not certain what they've called it, or really what the objective has you eat power-ups to fill up a power-up bar. I have yet to try this in the multiplayer mode. However, in the single-player mode, I filled up my bar and attacked the opposition. It isn't entirely clear what is supposed to happen or what you are supposed to do. An attempt to attack a single enemy mercilessly never eliminated them. Allowing the AI to attack me and empty my own bar never 'killed' me. Racing around the track six consecutive times didn't bring a possible 'race' to a close. Consequently, some clarification on this mode is necessary.

--- Bears Can't Drift!? bears a decent resemblance to N64 classic Diddy Kong Racing but this is definetly not a negative. The game has an over world which connects different tracks and currently there are 3 different game modes. Single Race which, as you would expect, pits you against up to 7 other racers, time trial which does as it says on the tin and a picnic basket mode where you must be the first to collect picnic baskets that keep spawning around the track. Graphically the game looks lovely running on the Unreal 4 engine and so far the developer has put in some different looking tracks. A little bit more “stuff” on each track would be nice but I am sure this will come as the game continues through early access. *– [Real player with 5.4 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198007239254)* --- ![Mashed](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/281280/header.jpg "") ## Mashed The fantastic Mashed lacks much in the way of plot, set-up or subtlety at all, but it proves that such things are wholly unnecessarily for a racing game that is this much fun and whimsically cathartic – the premise is simple; as any one of six colour-coded vehicles, outlast a number of opponents while navigating richly detailed maps at top speed and armed with a wide array of utilisable ordnance. That premise is only the beginning of a highly-replayable core concept, first thing you’ll want to try is the “Challenge Cup” campaign mode, which incorporates every map and every gamemode in roughly a difficulty curve to showcase the immense variety of experiences the game has: completing bronze, silver, and gold challenges on each map will unlock more and more playtypes, vehicles and maps for the campaign, while also unlocking new possibilities in the “Quick Play” casual mode with both pick-up singleplayer, cooperative- and competitive multiplayer. *– [Real player with 11.3 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198250091314)* ### "Mashed? MASHED POTATOES!" When I was little I bought this title off the Xplosiv publisher and must admit that its by far the most amazing top-down game I've ever played and felt that I have spent my money right with this title. Played multiplayer with my cousin on the same screen and the insults were undeniably the most outrageous and funny ones. You'll get called a dumb cookie crumb and so forth, which adds even more icing to the cake. Yet, the whole sad thing about this is the fact that this is Drive to Survive, not Fully Loaded so there's not any improvement to the gameplay and I've stated the bugs you'll encounter while playing. *– [Real player with 10.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198098409085)* --- ![Outbraking](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1774870/header.jpg "") ## Outbraking ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/CoOpRacing.png?t=1636192431) Outbraking is a PvPvE Co-Op Racing Game, in which you and your team can take on different missions in a vivid city to earn money and views, becoming the most viewed Outbraker! ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/Missions.png?t=1636192431) ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/Missions.gif?t=1636192431) * Several kinds of Missions, like item collection, delivering, racing or destruction. * The team with the smartest drivers, not the fastest cars, will win the missions! * Earn money and viewers in each mission. ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/Abilities.png?t=1636192431) ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/Abilities.gif?t=1636192431) * Each car has an unique ability, use it wisely to get away or stop other cars. * Timing is key, because you will not be able to use the ability often. ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/Customization.png?t=1636192431) ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/Customization.gif?t=1636192431) * Spend your money on customization, unlocked through your viewers count. * Seperated visual and function customization, to look badass and be as fast as possible. * Buy additional cars for your collection! ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/Multiplayer.png?t=1636192431) ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/Multiplayer.gif?t=1636192431) * Local Split-Screen & Online Matchmaking. * Cross-Platform across all available platforms. ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/VR.png?t=1636192431) ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/vr.gif?t=1636192431) * Optimized, accessible and fully playable in VR, first and third person, seated or standing. * Play with your friends in split-screen and one in VR at the same time. ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/GripCity.png?t=1636192431) ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/GripCity.gif?t=1636192431) * Traffic in the whole city depending on the mission, find the optimal route for your destination. * Beware of the police chasing after you in some missions. ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/DayAndNight.png?t=1636192431) ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/DayAndNight.gif?t=1636192431) * Different time and weather for each mission. * Affects the view and traffic in the city. ![](https://%CDN_HOST_MEDIA_SSL%/steam/apps/1774870/extras/LiveGame.png?t=1636192431) * There will be updates in the coming months and years. * New missions, new customizations, new districts and new cars. * Read the weekly news in our [Discord Server](https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?url=https://discord.gg/uhVZhaRXkN). --- ![RACING BROS: ONLINE](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1570630/header.jpg "") ## RACING BROS: ONLINE ![](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1570630/extras/giphy5.gif?t=1615920392) Gather your friends and get ready for a goofy and fun racing experience for almost all ages! So because it is a racing game, you can fly left and right, and since it is in space, you can also go up and down. The game uses newtonian physics and provides a simplified fly control (but not impossible in reality). Because it is using newtonian physics, speed is not limited but the faster you go the harder it is for your ship to turn. The goal of the game is to race through gates and reach the final line in the least amount of time. The majority of the gate is only visible through augmented reality and your ship can get through them without problem. Other game features: - 15 tracks - a single player mode with 3 difficulty of bots to get through - a local multiplayer mode, using split screen for up to 4 players - a championship mode - for the motivated player: a blender (2.79) plug-in is provided to create new tracks - the tracks definitions (ship acceleration, number of laps, etc.) are stored and can be easily modified - the championship definitions are also stored in plain text and can be easily modified - you can put your own music (in ogg format) in the playlist directory to use inside the game. **Cubes … that race ... in space ?** Space cube racers is a racing game located in space. Space can be a problem since there is no ground, no air, no gravity as well as incredibly cold and empty and overall not very exciting. Except that now, in this year of 21XX, that emptiness has been decreased by adding racing tracks and racing ships to race in those tracks. Space is now suddenly much more exciting. Your ship will provide you air, mildy warm air. That means you can actually be in space, in your ship and not die of cold, or lack of pressure. Which is good. But, I hear you say, outside of space, there is not a lot of air, well none to be pedantic, and controlling a ship in space must be extremely hard and frustrating, right ? Wrong, because of this new technology: cube ships. A cube ship have 6 thrusters, one on each face. Inside that cube is a spheric cockpit from which you can pilot the ship. That sphere will turn inside the cube, which in turn will rotate the outter cubic frame in the opposite direction (because of some funny law of physics stating that for each action there is an equal and opposite reaction. And rotation is such an action). All that is monitored by a smart computer that knows which thrusters to fire to move your ship in the direction you are pointing. And this smart computer will then ensure that everytime you turn, the ship move toward the direction you are facing. That makes navigating in space a child's play. Well maybe not a child's play... but at least a lot less frustating and hard than it used to be. You will still have to show some skill... after all this is what racing is all about. Oh i forgot one minor point: in space you can go as fast as you want. But don't. How retarded is that to have this immense power to not use it? Well, as the wisdom says: "speed without control is nothing". And the faster you go, the more difficult will it be for your ship to turn. Which is a problem. **Some warnings** This game have a lot of "flashing" effect due do getting through many gates very quickly. This helps provide a good sensation for speed, but will be problematic to people prone to epileptic seizure from visual stimuli. **EPILEPTIC PLAYERS BEWARE**. Better be safe than sorry. This game has been designed to be primarily used by gamepads with good **analog** sticks. As it is a PC game, you can use your keyboard and mouse, and event play a four player game with a single keyboard, but really, this is less than optimal (but it could be fun :-). Also, joysticks can be used, but by personal experience, beware of tendonitis. Even though I play some space sim with a joystick, without any problem, this game is too fast paced and even a short session tends to hurt my wrists. This game has been developped and is being maintained by a single person. This means you should expect some problem with the game, especially with your controller. While I tried to use a very inclusive method to handle controllers, I do not have many type of controller to test and have them work out of the box. I provided you with all the tools to be able to configure any controller you can throw at this game, and the game **will** make its best to provide you with a good configuration. But expect to configure your controller before being able to play. Finally, this game was designed with analog controls in mind. You **can** play only with your keyboard, even in four player mode, this is clearly not the recommanded way to play this game . Its a local multiplayer based game for up to 4 players, but can be played solo as well. The game requires you to catch a tin of tuna that is runnig away from you. You must catch and eat the tuna before it escapes the level. Why are you chasing the tuna? You are high after eating cat nip. Each level consists of different obstacles you must avoid whilst chasing down the tuna. This progressively gets harder the further you advance through the levels. *– [Real player with 1.6 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198054390752)* --- ![The Next Penelope](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/332250/header.jpg "") ## The Next Penelope This game is listed as a racing game, but that's only 60% accurate. The game is a top-down racer 60% of the time, a janky bullet-hell PoS 30% of the time, and a janky-af pinball minigame 10% of the time. The controls are consistent, but everything feels floaty, and it's awful. It's like the entire game is set on an ice rink. You have no control over your acceleration so, when coupled with the floaty controls, whether you succeed or not comes down to how well you can memorise a level. Oh, and don't forget luck. Because you're gunna need dumb-luck in spades if you want to beat some levels. Enemy racers never seem to actually get knocked out of races if they get blown up/run out of energy ~ unlike you, who stays down and has to restart any failed event from the beginning. *– [Real player with 8.3 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198366638721)* Aurelien Regard’s The Next Penelope is a futuristic reimaging of Homer’s Odyssey; old meets new in a stylish yet retro world of neon race strips and mechanical monsters. Though you don't really need anybody else to play with, this game does lend itself well to party play. Anyway, Steam required me to update a review to get the badge, so… 30 June, 2018: I'm re-writing this review, as the development over the last six months has made much of my original review obsolete. This is a great "retro" racing game. Race up to 8 vehicles (currently 11 different vehicles to choose from) on various off-road courses. From the menu you can select the number of opponents as well as the number of laps. As of now there are about a dozen different tracks that you can race in either direction, plus more available through Stem Workshop. You can race a single track, or multiple tracks (& directions) for a total "season" of multiple races. Points are totaled for each race and if you finish in the top three you can see your car on the "podium" at the end. This works with single player versus AI opponents, or local multiplayer. The developers say that online multiplayer is something in the works, but it is not available as of today. *– [Real player with 275.2 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198027221726)* ….if the game not starting (crash) it need this file: https://www.arcadeinjection.com/uploads/PhysX_Game_installer_273.msi Overwhelming Positive!
