Chronicon

Chronicon

Amazing game. It has:

  • very malleable yet fairly easy enchanting system

  • interesting skill trees and crazy equipment powers that combined can produce builds almost breaking the game at extremes

  • awesome endgame mode that offers tons of fun

  • sweet qol features like very configurable radial loot pickup

  • otherwise has familiar structure like acts, elites, bosses, gems etc.

What’s a bit missing:

  • given the possible complexity and interconnections of builds, I’d absolutely love a proper build benchmark, like a minute recording of the actual damage you make that’s reported to you with some details.

One of the reasons I like the Steam platform so much is that it offers opportunity for development teams to release early access versions of their games.

Of course some games never get out of early access for many reasons or the dev teams take little notice of the player base that are effectively ‘testing’ EA/Alpha/beta versions and the player base walk away.

Chronicon is a perfect example of Early Access done well.

I believe the earliest version was 5 years ago.

I picked the game up back in November 2017 and looking at my Steam logs played it for just a couple of weeks.

Potion Party

Potion Party

I received this game as a birthday gitf. My friends and I have agreed not to buy multiplayer/party games as a group, since our schedules rarely allow us to actually play something together. So, I left Potion Party on my wishlist, afraid to waste money on yet another game I wouldn’t get to play with anyone. I was actually quite happy to receive it, tho, and more so when I realized I could use the remote play together to invite others to play with me. I didn’t felt like burning my PC while playing with friends, so I’d say it’s quite fun. It’s challenging, but just enough not to cause frustration or annoyance when someone makes a mistake. You can also play it alone just fine, and some strategies work better when you’re by yourself or part of a duo instead of a quartet. It’s a great game and I’m very happy with it. 3

First of all, I absolutely adore this game.

The art is cute and it’s pretty fun to play. I spent hours playing it with my friends and had a blast.

That being said, I have an issue with the multiplayer in this game. This game is only couch co-op (meaning local) or is remote play. I had to do the remote play as all my friends that wanted to play were online, which made playing the game difficult. The game was extremely laggy for my friends and it made playing the game very challenging at times. VS mode is pointless to us, because it just lags too much for it to be fun.

So, I definitely do reccomend this game. but not to everyone.

And. this review will have informaton, but expect it to be all over the place. GOOD LUCK!!

So, this game is fairly expensive, for what it is. You will NOT get what you paid for in the combat department of this game. yes there are a fair amount of ways to fight. and a small collection of weapon families to all keep it a little fresh. but other than those, combat should stay the same the whole game. with you deciding how to play it out against the kind of enemies you are currently up against.

Overall an ok game, it has a lot of fun elements but also a lot of missed opportunities. Overall a 6.5/10, definitely worth it when it’s on sale. I wouldn’t recomend buying it at full price and would skip it if you are bord of “survival lite” zombie games.

TL:DR: basic graphics, repetative environments and quests, offset but decently fun progression and gameplay. Not a GOTY contender by any stretch of the imagination but worth a few bucks if you like survival lite, and/or isometric games.

Graphics: 4/10: isometric games generally are lower end graphics wise but this game is rather basic in this area. Maps are repetetive, animations are limited. Areas start to feel extremely similar to one another pretty quickly. Some effort is made to proved various “biomes” like forest, swamp, city etc but ultimately it’s not enough and they HEAVILY reuse building interiors.

Thank you! For a few years, I’ve been let down by not finding a decent Scrabble-like game. This is..pretty good. What would really improve it a lot, is if there could be a nonfamily-friendly setting; if you misspell a word, it gets thrown out & you lose your turn. That would make the game much more intense – then you actually have to know words. Still, for the price, it’s nice and much better than the free online scrabble & literati; the graphics, the choices of boards & tiles, and the music makes it much more fun. A real steal for 5 bucks.

Real player with 65.0 hrs in game

It’s certifiably scuffed.

I’ve yet to have a game where it’s not bugged out and denied me a turn. The bots in offline play are absolute monsters that occasionally decide to skip like 4 turns in a row for no discernible reason. The dictionary has some truly ridiculous words in it and excludes many terms that are included in other dictionaries. However it’s dirt cheap for the only Scrabble variant on the platform, and it doesn’t throw a tantrum and crash when you’re in a game which is always a key factor in longer games like this.

I am literally gob smacked how fun this indie game can be. I don’t even know how this is supposed to qualify as indie, the graphics on this game can go head to head with games with 10 times the budget.

Gameplay is every alert and catches you very quickly. Playing co-op is the best way to do it as every player has got his own role in the fight. There’s loads of customizations available for basically everything, all you need is some friends to play with and you are good to go. It can be played as solo as well but once you die 3 times there’s no one to bail you out, it’s pretty much game over. You’ve got a loads of maps to choose from and only by changing the difficulty, the game becomes a completely different beast.

This is by far one of the most fun video games I have ever played.

What I like the most:

  • the movement of the robots is incredibly smooth and hilarious (not to pick favourites but have you seen how the enemy’s head bounces when you hit it with a bat?).

  • the color palette which makes the game really cute although we are experiencing robots massacring other robots

The game overall is really fun especially in co-op and it’s very engaging so even if you play a level over and over again it doesn’t become boring. Plus you have a small range of weapons and each has its own fun trait besides the fact that they cover two main player roles: healer and psycho on a killing spree.

Noah

Noah

Seeing the incoming dark clouds, some seek shelter and others build an ark. Step into the pre-apocalyptic world as Noah and lead the bravest project of ancient times! Gather the required resources to build a ship able to withstand the diversity of Earth’s fauna on its deck.

Don’t forget the dove though, without her the voyage might take forever!

The rainstorm is close, and after all, you must save at least a pair of each species.

Animals are just animals, and they can get quite unbearable… they spread around the world and don’t want to listen - bah, it might come to you carrying them around on your own back!

Once you’re done with that, don’t forget to pack the supplies. Otherwise… you know…

Problems with livestock and the race to beat the clock are not the only concerns you’ll face.

You’re just starting out with this praiseworthy quest and some wicked folks are already looking forward to your demise. Fight them without batting an eye - this time it doesn’t count as a sin!

If you think building the Ark is not something you’ll manage on your own, bring your friends along!

Together you’ll be able to wrap it all up much quicker, as well as make it easier to defend the floating zoo when a mass attack happens. No worries - there’s plenty of work to do even for four of you!

Ship construction and saving animal species are probably not the easiest activities, as well as being the captain during the final voyage. In the end, however, the rain will stop. Looking out for the land, you’ll realize you saved the world once again - and this time it all went without a single gunshot.

Got to beta test it, and it’s a major improvement over the first game. What really sets this game apart is it’s sandbox aspect: you can make any racing series and simulate it.

Real player with 93.7 hrs in game

Building on the foundations of its predecessor (which I played a lot), it is a great top down arcade sim, this time with added features like customizing your liveries, time trials and more new stuff. Would recommend to anyone who likes 2D/arcade racing games/sims and games to test your reflexes with. Very keyboard user friendly, which is a rarity nowadays, and also able to run smoothly on basically any kind of hardware.

Merek’s Market

Merek’s Market

To be honest, I thought the graphics would have made this game unplayable, however, I pleasantly surprised with this game.

If you have played Overcooked or Witchtastic, this is certainly a fun game to try out.

pick-up, throw, crafting, smelting, and mini-games are some of their features.

I was surprised to see that the Campaign game and the multiplayer game are actually set-up quite differently and to fully beat the game you would have to play both.

A nice game to play with my wife.

Real player with 41.1 hrs in game

I picked up this game because my wife and I are big fans of Overcooked style games, and this one seemed right up our alley. We played through the coop content first, and there was plenty of challenge to be had. It was hard for her at times, as you are expected to remember what ingredients make what items. For me, however, this was part of the fun. Some of the later content is pretty difficult, especially if you are trying to get a gold score, but the game was solid and enjoyable.

I want to talk about one other aspect, however, that most games of this type don’t really have, a solo campaign. In most cases, you are expected to control two characters and make items, but Merek’s Market is different. Solo play has it’s own set of challenges, and there are some nuances that would have helped coop play as well. The haggle elements were really nice and added both a break and flavor to the rest of the experience. In some ways, solo feels a bit more casual. There is still some challenge, but once you have the rhythm of it, you can typically get all the items made you need.

I don’t own the boardgame of this yet but a couple of my friends and I spent several hours playing last night and well play many more in the future. A charming game that is much deeper than its whimsical appearance may suggest with a lot of replayability despite the (at least currently) singular map.

I would love to see more expansions for it, especially the modular map, to come to the PC version and more races and powers means more options and crazy combos. Some of these combinations were laugh out loud funny (flying ghouls, peace-loving barbarians, etc.) so even more of these would enhance the game immensely.

Real player with 408.6 hrs in game

TL;DR: It’s broken

You don’t have 165 hours in this, all single player. Nobody does. Why would you?

So here’s a review from a person who is deep in this game.

The boardgame is amazing, this is it.

Until a month ago, it worked great. It had a few glitches (Leprechauns would get slowdown issues while fast forwarding through their gold collection, etc.) that weren’t game breaking. Maybe every twentieth hour there’d be a game-breaking non-reproduceable bug that you’d never see again.

Not anymore. After purchasing the Royal Bonus DLC, I had 6 drops tonight. Reloaded, dropped from the game again. No error message, nothing. There’s a race that when selected… the game just stopped. Twice for me, tonight. Crazy.
