Snow Moto Racing Freedom
Snow Moto Racing Freedom is a really cool and solid arcade racing game much in the style of Aqua Moto Racing Utopia, a game that I like a lot since it reminds me of the old wave race series of games except with more of everything.
This game feels very different and in a great way. First, it’s on snow and it gives you the racing options to either sprint cross vast mountain landscapes or to race head-to-head in arenas full of jumps, turns and sometimes high hills to climb.
I was impressed to notice that the snow sparkles and that the weather effects range from daylight, sunset, storm, into even dark night where the snowmobiles have their headlights on. The trails that all snowmobiles make stays in the landscapes and are not removed like in other snow games I’ve played. Overall I find the sound quality superb. There are dopler effects as you get passed, the engine pitch goes up when you’re in the air and I even hear the skis in the snow.

I’m from Sweden so I know how big snowmobiling is! The developers Zordix are from far up North in Umeå, and their enthusiasm really shows up in the game.
I discovered this new game after coming back to play 2016 year’s surprise hit Aqua Moto Racing Utopia and I’m equally impressed with this one.
Looking at some old films on Youtube from earlier popular snowmobile games, my conclusion is that this must be the best game in the snowmobile genre so far. Congratulations on such a great achievement!

Barely Racing
Barely Racing is a fast-paced combat racing game where you can buy and upgrade your car and play through the campaign. Drive multiple cars on multiple tracks. Play offline with your friends in good old hot seat fun.
.
Several multiplayer modes are available
-
Race - Typical racing with weapons.
-
Mine Tag - A good old tag game, but more dangerous. One player carries the mine which has a timer. Once timer runs out, mine explodes. Touching other player will transfer the mine. Then it’s time to run
-
Flag chase - The flag is in the middle of a map, whoever takes it will have their points increased as long as flag is being carried. But watch out, as soon as someone touches you, the flag will be transferred to the player that touched you.
-
Deathmatch - Pure carnage. Use your weapons to destroy as many opponents as possible. Once destroyed, the car will respawn for another round.
-
Football - Good old football game with cars. 2v2 isometric football

High Octane Drift
High Octane Drift
To begin my review, I would like to give you some statistics.
It’s one of the few free games on the Steam Playground and thing is, as it should be, the basis of the game is multiplayer, and as is customary in almost all free games - the presence of donation. Because of this, many players immediately quit the game, seeing that many things are available only for ‘real’ currency, even without having experienced the game, as can be seen from the statistics on Steam achievements.

As with all games, this has some major pros and cons, and I will list them as such and then do a small review,
PROS:
(1) Free to play, and I have seen no reason to spend money (so far) except to get stuff faster.
(2) Partial contorller support. Controllers only work in-game, not the menus, and you get to bind it how you see fit.
(3) Decent graphics. Some glitchy parts, but overall pretty nice.
(4) Voice chat. Though I haven’t found anyone that actually uses it, it’s nice to have built in.
CONS:

Circuit Superstars
Good game, could use larger playerbase.
Ppl who want the save system in a game where full championships vs the AI take maximum of 30 minutes are funny

This is in my opinion now the pinnacle of top down racing. It is obviously more beautiful that Skidmarks and Supercars. It’s controls are more interesting that Micromachines. The races feel more interesting that games like Mantis Burn and Motorstorm RC. It’s taken from some of the best qualities of Generally.
It’s strange as the game feels like it’s barely finished (No online groups. Can’t save during Grand Prix which everyone complains about. Only one car per category) but I’d still much rather play this than any of the other games I’ve listed. The controls feel fantastic. The visuals are cute and fit the vibe wonderfully. The audio is enjoyable even though the menu music can get a little on the nerves after very long loops.

DIRT 5
–——————————————————–
WARNING: do not buy the Amplified Edition but go for the Standard game instead. To this day it’s unclear what the extra benefits of Amplified are gonna be. They already released a car DLC (Porsche Macan) that isn’t even part of the Amplified Edition and in a recent video interview with the dev director on the DIRT YT channel it’s stated that even the Standard game is gonna get extra free content. I still like the game but so far the extra money I paid for the Amplified Edition feels like a waste.

TL;DR
- Dirt 5 is really good with some caveats. If you’re looking for something in the vein of the previous DiRT games, you’ll likely be disappointed. But if you enjoy arcade offroad racers hearkening back to the PS2/Xbox era, you should definitely check this out at some point, most likely on sale.
Pros, Cons, and Meh(s):
PROS
-
Wide range of car disciplines, from rallycross spec cars to 80s rally to trucks to buggys. All of them feel fast, responsive and just fun to drive.
-
Graphics are really solid, night time lighting is especially nice.

Ultimate Racing 2D 2
Got to beta test it, and it’s a major improvement over the first game. What really sets this game apart is it’s sandbox aspect: you can make any racing series and simulate it.

Building on the foundations of its predecessor (which I played a lot), it is a great top down arcade sim, this time with added features like customizing your liveries, time trials and more new stuff. Would recommend to anyone who likes 2D/arcade racing games/sims and games to test your reflexes with. Very keyboard user friendly, which is a rarity nowadays, and also able to run smoothly on basically any kind of hardware.

Why Are We Making This Game?
We have a lifelong love for racing games, reaching back to the fun times at the arcade in the 80’s. Our ambition in making this game is to create the racing game we always wished we had, growing up. A game with emphasis on driving a fast race car with precise handling all whilst keeping it fun and exciting rather than technical and complicated. We hope you will like it as much as we do!
