Hyper Jam
This is Hyper Jam
, a retro themed fast paced arena figther, that keeps you focused and tryingharding, you need to win, no matter what. What makes this game so great are multiple things:
**The Music: **Just amazing 80’s synthwave/retro electro music that hypes you up, makes you feel connected to the game, and just feels good to listen to.
Even if you are waiting for a game, it’s just nice to listen to while waiting, building the hype for the upcoming game, and keeping the hype from the last one. Simply perfect.****

Hyper Jam is one of the most polished indie titles I’ve ever played, and probably one of the best couch-competitive games out there.
The combat feels like it’s hit the perfect spot between too simple and too complex - everyone can understand and use each mechanic, but there’s enough depth for die-hards and experienced players to perfect and start pulling off impressive plays. The perk system makes every match feel different, and combined with the barrages you can send down when knocked out, helps equalize the playing field a little.

Anti Frank’s Wrath
Anti Frank is unleashing his wrath on the universe! Play by yourself or with a few friends locally to take down hoards of zombies and stop Anti Frank! Play as one of four unique characters and buy new upgrades and weapons as you rid the universe of zombies.
Anti Frank’s Wrath is a top-down arcade shoot-em up based in the futuristic 1980’s. It supports 4 player local co-op (or steam remote play).

Whizz Ball
A friend recommended Whizz Ball to me as a good party game, and we have had a lot of fun playing with 4 players. Using the after touch feature to redirect the ball towards other players creates a great sense of competitive fun. Single player is still a challenge, but playing against friends is really what it’s about, even if it’s you and one other.
Good selection of powerups, although they might need a bit more balancing, but these can be turned off in the options. Also came across a couple of minor issues but nothing game breaking, which is fine by me.

At time of review (Aug 2020) this is currently early access. I’m really enjoying the concept and the style but at the moment there is a significant playability issue. Each player simply has too little to control. You can only move your bat in a very short range above your blocks (essentially three positions). Sometimes you can redirect the ball in flight (the rules on this are a little unclear) and sometimes you can shoot. Most of the time is spent watching the ball bounce around and waiting often for quite a long time before it hits you.

Capsule Force
This game is worth 5 bucks. What you get when you buy this game is beautiful animations, fantastic music, and fast-paced gameplay that’s easy to pick up while having a lot of depth for those willing to master it. The solo missions do a great job of easing you into the game’s mechanics while not bogging you down in tutorials. And the multiplayer experience is frankly amazing.
Your full enjoyment of the game will depend on if you can set it up with multiplayer though. It basically requires 4 remotes; playing with keyboard controls puts you at a huge disadvantage. Fortunately, the game not very resource-intensive, so you carry around a cheap laptop to play it anywhere. Unfortunately, multiplayer is less convenient for desktop PC users, especially if your PC is set up in a bedroom or somewhere with limited space.

Short but fun 2D platformer.
As one of the four available characters (they seemed pretty much the same other than their looks) you jump, shoot, dash and shield your way through a bunch of short missions.
There are three different mission types:
-
Target practice = Hit all the targets scattered around the stage using either your gun, shield or dash.
-
Danger Zone = Reach the goal while avoiding enemies/traps.
-
Dash = Rush to the goal as fast as possible.
There are multiple stages, each with their own gimmick, and despite each stage being only 20-60 seconds long most of them were fun to play through.

Orbiz
I just wanted to say that the game has a huge potential. I really dig the visual and the background music but I wanted the SFX to be much improved :)
I already play the game alone and together with three other friends. I might say that the game is very difficult and extremely punishing (you start from the beginning if you lost). The tactic when playing alone and together is vastly different. While it is easier to move alone but no one covering you which means that you need to move a lot. When playing multi player, your friends can have your back but the room of movement is fairly limited. Hopefully, the developer can address this problem.

While Orbiz took me on an adventure back to my early days of gaming, it has a long way to go before it’s ready to be officially launched. Amisdt the flaws in the game mechanics, I still had a blast bashing my way through swarms of the undead. This game has huge potential lying just below the surface, and I genuinely hope Anoman Studios spends the next year or two polishing Orbiz to its tremendous potential. For being such a new company, Anoman looks to have a bright future and I’m personally looking forward to seeing where they go next.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop
Game is awesome,
at first it seems to be too easy, but the focus here lies clearly on score-hunting, there are enough incentives to reward the player properly for high scores. Is the score high enoug you become rated with stars, depending on the rating you unlock achievments, music and editor parts.
This also means that playing the game just normally, won’t satisfy the urge for challenge, that’s important to notice, if you die merely your score resets and the progress in the current room, which isn’t much. If you die three times in a row on the same room you can make yourself invincible, which is a bit too much in my opinion, but at the same time, it’s just there for completing the short main campaign, after you’ve been through it, there is a much harder campaign which is hard enough that it might be even interesting to play if you not play for scores, in these levels the invincibility option is turned off. It took me some time and was pretty hard, but earning thhree stars in the hard versions is highly satisfying.

I’d like to applaud Taito for standing behind their product and fixing the major bugs the game had that originally prevented me from recommending this title… but it’s still not perfect for the current price point. While it no longer has any game breaking issues, the main Story levels still lack the visual charm of the original Bubble Bobble (which thankfully works great now and is also included via the “Arcade of Memories”) in regards to enemy designs and block skins; proving that new doesn’t always equal better.

Crazy Otto
I’ve followed this game’s development with great interest. How is it, after more than 36 years, no one has ever tried a multiplayer PacMan? Other than a “your turn, my turn” approach….
As this game demonstrates - there are enough characters, even if you just stick to the orginal arcade titles…. PacMan, Ms. PacMan, Baby PacMan, and PacMan Jr. - and the four ghosts…. There you go - 2 teams of 4.
Well, this obviously isn’t PacMan. It’s Crazy Otto…. it’s not even the Crazy Otto that became Ms. PacMan. It’s its own thing. PacMan is well… a PacMan - and he (along with the rest of his Pac family) fight Ghosts. The old-school Crazy Otto was some sort of PacMan-like-thing with legs, and he (or it) fought ghost-like fruit-like thingies…. This game is all about Ducks and Dinosaurs.

For the uninitiated, “Crazy Otto” circa 1981 holds a special place in arcade history as the game that would eventually become Ms. Pac-man after being acquired by Bally Midway. When I first saw this appear on the upcoming releases list, I was floored. After 35 years, the “prototype” version of Ms. Pac was going to be an actual product that I could purchase and play on Steam. I couldn’t have been more excited!
Unfortunately, “2016’s Crazy Otto” as it’s being called by developer Extend Mode isn’t exactly the game I was hoping for. Yes, there are striking similarities between their version and videos/gameplay of the original that can be found on YouTube and other streaming sites. However, anyone going into this thinking they are getting the actual Crazy Otto arcade ROM from decades gone by will likely be disappointed.

BULLET PARTY
This is a seemingly straightforward schmup on the surface but it’s just as much a puzzle game. Levels fly at you thick & fast, and you sometimes have just seconds to destroy all the enemies onscreen. However the visuals, whilst retro, are clearly defined & even though you will perish (many times!) it never feels annoying as you get put back in again, forcing you to think quickly & remember what worked & what didn’t.
Kind of unique among the many twin stick shooters out there, and great value. Even the pulsing soundtrack is effective. Get it!

BULLET PARTY is obviously a bullet hell game. A very hellish bullet game at that.
CONS
1. Gets very hard very easily, but this is to be expected. Bullet hell game after all. (Still annoying.)
2. No level editor. I feel like a level editor would REALLY make this game, especially if you could upload your levels and others could play theeem……………………
1. Very fun experience, with lots of levels.
2. Very fun with friends.
FINAL VERDICT
BULLET PARTY is a very fun game as you can tell. The game can be annoying at times, but it’s worth the money.
