PT+

After too long in front of the computer screen, it’s time to switch on the VR and refurb the neck with PT+. I can really tell how much this helps. Are you people with “cell phone posture” listening?

This is an incredibly simple, yet effective application to help you stretch your neck. Perfect for anyone spending long periods of time at a computer.

Note: Not to be confused with a similarly named reboot of a dead franchise.

Fun, fun game!

I don’t know what other VR games do this, but the aiming reticle and wind-up trigger in the HMD is nothing short of intoxicating! For the first time since getting the DK2, I had a sense of empowerment (read: Unfair advantage. License to pwn!) which I have never experienced before. I didn’t think that gyrating my big melon around could be an advantage, but it really does bring something to the table as far as VR is concerned. Yay, neck muscles!

Entirely too short for how much fun it is. I’m ready to pay for more! Right now, it’s like an amusement park attraction–short burst of a high-quality sensation. It reminds me of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin or similar shooting-gallery ride, though it’s much less difficult (Cracked 50/50 on the first try!) and way more gratifying than those sorts of rides for the short time you are in there. Plus, no need for a Fast Pass!

Played On: HTC Vive

It’s quite possible that InMind VR was one of the very first virtual reality games of the modern era; having been released in January of 2015, over a year before consumer VR hit the market and a couple of months before the premiere of the HTC Vive. For that alone, the game should be commended, but as with all once-good things, time has faded its relevance. This title is a 10-minute long demo that features on-rails movement, and instead of using controllers players use their gaze-based movement to trigger actions.

Black Hole Simulator

Black Hole Simulator

The simulation was a bit more complex than I anticipated, of course it would probably have some details but I wasn’t really expecting to see general relativity showing up at the left of the accretion disk this gorgeously. After waiting for a minute or two without feeding the gates of hell, the event horizon got empty blank and the radio noise obviously stopped. All that just to start glowing back again very faintly="" a couple seconds later.

So, the simulation could have a simple on-screen log event (it could be optional), it would even help if someone is using the application to explain how a black hole works. I know people can just go to Youtube but why, if there is a beautiful simulation spinning for you at will? /very

Note: The developer, PanGuoJun was kind enough to supply this review copy to the Sturgeons Law Curator group.

Black Hole Simulator is an early access 3D rendered black hole simulator, just like it says on the box. You’re presented with a reasonable facsimile of a black hole, which you can spin around to get different views. You can increase or decrease the size of the thing, alter the gravity model between Newtonian and Relativistic, and you can have it absorb a star and watch what happens. You can also choose between a number of different backgrounds to see how the gravitational lensing makes things look. At this stage of development, that’s all there is to it. To say this is rudimentary bare bones is a massive (geddit!?) understatement.

Space Defense Grid

Space Defense Grid

“Space Defense Grid” is a tower defense game. The enemies in the game will attack the energy center, steal energy and then escape. Players need to build defense grid according to different levels. It should be noted that different enemies have their own characteristics, such as some enemies get energy and speed up to escape, or open the energy shield, etc. players need to adjust the grid specifically, in addition,The game designs the enemy’s shield and weapon’s armor penetration, For example, the armor penetration of weapon a is 3, the shield value of enemy B is 4, the damage of a attacking B is reduced by 10%, and the effect range of weapon to enemy is 10% - 100%.

Elva the Eco Dragon

Elva the Eco Dragon

While the concept of a dragon teaching how to care for our environment sounds cute, the game seems to be in need of some cleanup of its own first.

As a professional educator in the scientific study of the natural world, Elva the Eco Dragon seemed like a game with high potential to dovetail nicely with my day job. Unfortunately, what seemed to be a cute and engaging 3D action-adventure on the surface fails to go deeper in terms of gameplay experience or learning.

Atom

Atom

This game is cool. You can make the hydrogen do some wild things visually. Hydrogen is interesting since (I think) all of our other atoms come from hydrogen, don’t quote me on that.

For .99, it’s certainly worth it.

I hope the author makes more content like this.

Not gonna lie, this game is stupid at the moment. That being said, I’m glad I bought it; it was truly fun to mess around with, and although the novelty has worn off, it was nice. I really hope more is added in the near future. I would recommend this game but only because I thought it was fun for the few minutes I played it. A little tour of the controls would be nice, and it would be good if one could change the quality of the graphics and/or simulation for different PCs to properly run it at whatever they want/need. This game could be a lot of fun if it were to take a look at other sandbox-type simulation games, such as universe sandbox. The variety of different controls with explanations detailed enough that you know what you’re doing when you’re doing it. Overall, I’d say the only reason I had fun playing this was my ADHD deciding to hyperfixate on this for the past little bit. Keep working on this game and it could become something greater
