Painkiller: Recurring Evil
This is not a bad expansion by any means! (I’m looking at you Resurrection). Therefore, why I would put a negative review? In this case I want to review this game saying it’s not a bad game but even thinking that I simply can’t fully recommend it!! This game is correct. It does what it’s need.
Gameplay wise it’s good action. The new soundtrack it’s metal and really awesome!! I think it’s the better soundtracks of the expansions and that’s saying a lot. I think even if it is more “metal agro” it’s really amazing. There are only five maps and excluding map 5 the others are forgettable. It takes the horde formula of Redemption and continues it. This gives really good maps when we talk about gameplay. Level 1 is okay for first level. Levels 2-4 are the real deal. Pure chaotic gameplay and a really good challange! The game is a correct farewell to this whole series but at this point of the series I think it really doesn’t innovate on anything. As a result, I can’t recommend it! I would recommend this only for hardcore fans at this point as the last game of the saga possible.

It is better than Redemption and especially Ressurrection, but considering those are two of the most piss poor attempts at making a videogame I’ve ever played that’s like saying that Desert Gunner is better than Air Control. It’s functional, yes, but that doesn’t really make it good.
It’s got the same “kill a million dudes, another six feet of the level opens, then kill a million more dudes” that the last two had, but the main difference here is that that “zillion” is down from the “trillion” that Redemption had. Redemption was unplayable because you simply did not have the space, health, or ammo to kill all the enemies in each level. This one you actually do, and i was able to play through in insomnia difficulty without ragequitting like in Redemption, where going through without cheating was virtually impossible due to bad game design.

You Must Survive
I do not recommend this game in it’s current state. Upon quitting from my first play, I had to uninstall it, delete the steamapp folder for it, as well as locate a hidden folder under local files that had to be deleted as the game found itself stuck in a loop of requiring an update. This game doesn’t clearly indicate as to what it wants you to do for the first part of it, I ended up looking up a YouTube video of someone else playing it, in order to figure out what I had to pick up and put where. After ending this second play session, and being taken back to the menu, all of the options were unable to be click on, so I had to Alt+f4 in order to quit the game. I understand why this game is only $4.55, but do yourself a favour and put that money towards something else, as this is not worth it.

Here are a few issues I had:
-
After leaving the game and coming back, the only thing in the main menu that worked was the “new game” option.
-
Inside the house, I was able to ignore the monster and run through it.
-
At one point, I lost the item (it was the lightbulbs) that I needed to progress.
-
As soon as I pressed ‘u’ to go to night time, I basically managed to get outside immediately. It didn’t really seem like what I did before mattered.
-
The ‘outside’ part of the game looks pretty bad imho. The monster just runs straight at you, you’re running through a slenderman clone where the slenderman is slower than you and the level is linear. I also couldn’t figure out how to pick up the gun. The only onscreen prompt I got was to press ‘e’ which caused a small message up to pop up.

Survival In Africa
its awful
even though i really like bad games i couldn’t even post a joke good opinion
i even tried beating the game so ima say whats bad about this:
1.crafting recipes are expensive af. you have to kill 2 zebras for an arrow and im pretty goddamn sure its not worth it
2.combat and healing is also boring, you just have to click LMB
3.most enemies are not worth fighting even tho their drops are importand to “beat” the game
4.boring

ADRPAN
As a part of my bad games review series I take a look at a game this time that instead has *NO Reviews (ok, there was one, but basically zero). As a result, I definitely wasn’t guaranteed a bad experience but as a game that so clearly is heavily inspired by Five Nights at Freddy’s, FNAF, I figured it’d be a safe bet. I was wrong. This game for what it costs and delivers is actually not bad at all (Dare I say good?)! It scared the daylight out of me! If you like FNAF for the jump scares, you will like this game. Hoping to play more on stream soon.

Unnatural Freaks: Wolf At Evergreen
This was actually a pleasant surprise. You play as Frankie, who runs the Unnatural Freaks vlog. And you’ve rolled into town to investigate werewolf sightings. Everyone seems to be happy with the tourism and the new werewolf museum, but is there really a werewolf?
Overall it was lovely as I’m a huge fan of werewolves, so I loved that the town went all out with the theme. Though I was puzzled as the museum was both opened after the sightings, but the current curator took it over? Or did he mean the building?

‘Unnatural Freaks: Wolf At Evergreen’ is an interactive story about small-town sightings of a werewolf. You play the role of a vlogger talking to all the townsfolk about what they did or didn’t see. Despite the game crashing a few times I did enjoy the game and started to get into the story. Sure, it only lasts for about 30-40 mins and it is very low-poly, but for a free game it’s worth a look if only for the storyline and to give a new developer a chance. I would love to see more from this game and I would be happy to pay for the next episode, just so long as the content amount justifies the fee.

Fey: Distant Daydream
“Please, come and tell me it’s good enough!"
These are the words written in the peculiar letter calling you, a solitary appraiser, to an abandoned estate far outside the nearest town.
When you make your way there, you suddenly awaken within the mansion, locked in a dusty bedroom. In some ways the place seems ordinary and yet you sense a distinct fragrance of something magical all around you.
Exploring the house, reading its books and appraising knickknacks will let you grow closer with the characters you will meet or hear of. Then, as you take a trip down memory lane and unbox stowed-away memories, you’ll slowly encroach on the answer to the original question.
Just what are you really supposed to be appraising here?
Fey: Distant Daydream is a mystery game centred around exploring a hand-crafted retro 3D environment. Solve puzzles through careful observation and use of objects in the environment as well as Effects, magical items that you carry throughout the game with a plethora of different effects.
Some puzzles will require you to combine information from the environment in escape-room inspired sequences. Others will have you read cookbooks to bring back a taste only faintly remembered, some will have you search through books for clues and yet others will require you to carefully consider the objects at your disposal.
Progress through the mansion and find out the truth of why you were asked to come to this place. Find and use unique effects such as a pocket watch that will let you glimpse into the past of a location. If you want to take it slowly, feel free to read one of the books or snap a photo with your eternal companion - an old camera.
Will you find what was lost within the depths of time and recover it? Or will you perhaps find true meaning in what is here?

Necrobarista
Full review (including score): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vnutf8U-ZaE
Summarized review below!
A visual novel with almost Persona-style graphics? Sign me right up for that. I’ve been playing through a lot of visual novels lately with the same 2D art, so it’s about time for a change of pace.
Note: Had to trim review to fit character limit, check video for full version!
Pros:
- Really cool visual direction. Necrobarista may not have the best graphics, but it makes up for this with some of the best visual direction I have ever seen in a visual novel. By visual direction, I’m referring to the lighting, camera angles, framing, and everything else that goes into presenting the graphics to the player. It is some very cool stuff here, with the camera constantly shifting between characters, going wide for certain lines to add emphasis, and even omitting dialogue entirely and just showing little snippets of animation to better illustrate certain scenes. It’s like a movie in a way and was definitely a nice change of pace compared to the usual flat backgrounds with 2D sprites popular in the medium.

I waited three years for this game and I don’t regret a thing.
I have some qualms with the “Memories” system- it’s somewhat arbitrary, and some of the short stories have stronger narrative impact if you read them earlier in the scenario rather than later (which will more likely be the point where you’ll get to read them)- and some characters that are more-or-less prominent in the trailers don’t actually stay their welcome long at all, but aside from that this was one of my favorite visual novels to read and experience of all time, and I had high expectations just from teaser trailers. (EDIT: Most of this has been recently addressed. More details at the end of the review.)
