For less than a buck, there is about 20 min of game here. Good for achievement hunters and wanting a 100% completion game. I’d give it 55%, so barely a recommend, even at that low low cost. I’ve played worse and refunded those. BTW, 2+ hr playtime is because I went AFK and came back to it - there is no more than 20 min of game play, seriously. Sometimes I do an AFK for a meme review play time but not so with this game. My play time will never go higher than it is at the time of this review. Cheers!

I have played quite a few games by Tonguc Bodur and they are very enjoyable meditative walking sims - some with a story (Nephise, Bottle Pilgrim, Dead Tree of Ranchiuna, etc.) and others with poetry (Pluviophile, Chionophile). Many of his games have additional mechanics built in (minor platforming, driving, collecting orbs, etc.) which add to the experience.

Loverowind is a short walking sim in a large valley with a few things to find (flowers, stanzas of poetry, hidden quotes). In a departure from a progressive journey, this game is set in a wide open area that you traverse in your search for items of interest. Running is achieved by passing through orbs of light and your progress is brought to a halt by large moving fields of light (which can be turned off as an option).

I got this game on sale for 75% off (.49 cents USD) and it’s honestly worth about that. Even with the major update made days before my purchase, there is just not much to do in this game. Which is a shame as it’s beautiful in it’s own surreal sort of way and what is here shows promise.

You do get to break some boards, fetch some keys and read some notes, but the dev wasn’t kidding about it being a walking sim. There is one puzzle, but the jump scares are audio and the promised horror of the beast never comes for you. It honestly feels like the final level of a much bigger game.

Well, it certainly looks a lot better than the original version…which I see I gave a measly 3.5 out of 10. So how does it compare in regard to gameplay?

I’d be lying if I said that I’ve played the original so many times as to know it inside-out, but…I’m pretty sure it’s much the same.

My character awakens in an admittedly atmospheric cemetery, and heads straight for a boarded-up crypt in front of me. I enter the crypt and find…nothing. At least nothing I can interact with: my character has no use for axes, it seems, and I have no idea why the cute bunny statue is sat beside the axe in question. A homicidal hare in waiting, perhaps? So far, so perplexing…

Buyer beware. This is barely worth calling a game. There are no levels, just clicking shapes to remove them as they spawn over time. If too many build up, you lose. There is no progression. The same few shapes spawn randomly until you get bored and quit/lose. The shapes consist of: A small sphere you can click any time. A box that gives -1 point when red, +1 point when orange, and cycles colors every few seconds. A cylinder that switches between grey (unclickable) and orange. A rectangle that starts with between 1 and 9 health randomly, that you must click down to zero to dismiss. These shapes spawn every second or two and bounce around the screen. You click them. That is it. That is the entire game.

Perfect game to warm up my aim. My score was 463 after a couple of tries and it was a lot more challenging then i thought it was. Took a lot of focus and hardcore hand endurance, my right hand can’t move and I typed this all with my left hand.8/10

This game is deep and rather sad once you put a meaning to what’s going on. I did find out some choices are open to us, while others are not. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be a happy ending, despite the uplifting music. At least I didn’t find it. Kind of sad, makes you think about what really matters in life and handling the choices we make. I hope there was a happy ending after the game as some of the things she said made me think it was possible.

Hi, i played the game & I gotta say I was moved by the story. Never do I feel emotion for a fictional character but in this one I had tears in my eyes & by the end I wanted to go back & make things right.

Screw the Mountain.

Please make a sequel to this. I know its only one person asking for it but I want to see this sad but beautiful story get a happy ending.

P.S. The voice actress on point. Plz bring her back.

Deadly Cosmic

It’s a short but very cool game, I liked the creatures and the mystery in the plot, I also liked the little moments of humor. In fact I wanted the game to be bigger because I was very involved, but it makes sense for the price. From my point of view it is a game that worth it!

Loved the premise of the game, and the graphics definitely give it that unique feel and add to the creepy vibe. I had a little trouble with the perspective, especially when there was a creature just off screen that I could no longer see because of the change in perspective, but you learn to maneuver and function quick enough.

Took me a while to find and operate the toilet… longer than I would like to admit. Overall, I would definitely recommend playing through this one, it is worth it!

Here’s some gameplay if interested (first stream terminated with no warning and I had to restart the stream)

The gameplay is not out of ordinary but it introduces simple new mechanics in every chapter. You try to find your way in a 3D maze and it’s kind of easy.

The story on the other side, is easy going and heart warming with the dialogues and the cutscenes.

It was a very nice short experience overall with all the music and the unusual narrative.

This game is short (about 60 minutes tops) so the price isn’t that bad for what you get. My biggest problem with it is the achievement for “Stroll down memory lane”. There is no checklist to tell you what you are missing from the level so you have to play it and hope you touched everything. Some are saying it is glitched and after 3 hours, I may be inclined to agree with them. I have checked several guides and nothing really tells me what the issue is and why I can’t unlock this achievement. I had a great time with it but definitely feeling a little burned by the experience. Don’t delete me

Flicker of Hope

I really wish I could recommend this game. There are some very interesting aspects to this game that I’ve never seen before. Unfortunately, however, the gameplay is just too poor to recommend.

First the good: So, the first thing you’ll notice is that the main character design is absolutely adorable and beautifully representative of the themes of light, hope, etc. that is visually expressed throughout Wick. Additionally, the way that Wick and the candles that he lights are the only light in the map (and how the light changes as you sneak and run) and the idea of the light being what leads Sister Mara to you is gorgeous and elegant (and can only really be expressed in the form of a video-game). Finally, the method by which Jean Wick revives is by possessing one of the candles that he’s lighted, which once again is beautifully representative of the the theme and story of spreading light around the cathedral.

Pros and cons are down below) Check out the gameplay here (the game is the 1st there):

Advantages:

1. A very cool stylee! It’s so adorable but terrifying at the same time! Reminded me A LOT of Little Nightmares. Such a great job on this one!

2. I absolutely loved how the story is unravelled through the environment! Game mechanics are also fascinating, I never ever played as a candle! I think the whole concept was amazing!

3. The game was terrifying! I loved it! It’s so cool! I didn’t expect that I will produce high pitched screams playing this at all!

Jormungandr

Jormungandr

Jormungandr , son of Loki, has just been cast out of Asgard into the seas of Midgard by Odin. Prophecy tells that Jormungandr will grow so large that he will wrap around Midgard to grasp his own tail. If Jormungandr should lose his grip, it will set about the events of Ragnarok.

  • 40 levels gives you an easy introduction but ramps up in difficulty fast.

  • Multiple ship types. The bigger the ship, the more damage they do.

  • Rechargeable boost to give you that quick burst of speed when you need it most.

  • Procedurally generated worlds that get bigger with each new level.

My Bones

My Bones

“My Bones” is an interesting, very short, atmospheric narrative - nothing more.

=====

CONS:

  • Lack of story: There’s a story here, but, its not fleshed out enough. It’s cliched and lacks any engaging hook to pull the player in.

  • Lack of puzzles/challenges/obstacles: Find a key, open a door. …That’s the difficulty level. It wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, but it really feels like its only here to slow the pace and pad the game, so as to give the illusion of more gameplay. I would consider that a negative.

Key to door simulator.

There isn’t any sort of story here really….or at least, it’s indistinct due to what I assume is a terrible translation.

The actual game looked and sounded cool.

There is a monster, but it does nothing.

It offers you a morality choice for no apparent reason.

Basically, you just wander around finding keys to unlock doors while reading some terribly translated notes and taking in the admittedly cool looking grisly scenery…and then the game ends by letting you know that you are either cool with being in hell or have escaped hell by being given a second chance, although the game is also not really clear on what you really did. Presumably you killed your family, but one of the notes suggests that your wife actually killed you despite the fact that you killed her (and this is a great example of what a terrible translation can do to your story, lol). Why you would be given a second chance is indistinct. Also, there is a note that states that a monster is sealed in the church crypt with somebody acting as the watcher, and tells the watcher to flee if the monster escapes, lol. Anyway, the story wasn’t really something that made any sort of sense. The common thread between the stuff you find was either left out or wasn’t thought out well enough to include in the first place.

Ho-Ho-Home Invasion

Ho-Ho-Home Invasion

A fun, charming little indie game for the Christmas season. It’s short, but enjoyable, and really easy to get all of the achievements on. All in all, I’d say it’s one of those rare games that’s worth more than what they’re charging for it.

Let’s be honest, ‘Ho-Ho-Home Invasion’ is not a complicated stealth game. I’d go so far as to say it’s a pretty good introduction to the stealth genre. It has no complex mechanics which on one hand means that it’s easy for even beginners to pick up, but on the other means it lacks depth for anyone more experienced in the genre.

Real player with 3.4 hrs in game

This game is pretty great, especially for something free. You really get to experience the stress of being a home inva… of being Santa Claus. The 5th level in particular is really well done. It’s the last level, but easily the one that really solidifies the concept with lots of moving parts and things to keep aware of to not be caught.

I played the first few levels with m/k, but finished with controller and felt both work pretty well. I prefer the controller for this one though. The music is fitting, but has some jarring looping. That could have been better, and there’s not a lot of use for the peaking around the corners ability. Since you have the map which lets you see everything around. Maybe a hard mode where it disables the map would make that more useful though. Sometimes your visible overhead view isn’t as useful as the one you see on the map.
