The Wonderful 101: Remastered
I’ve been playing this game for YEARS back when it released on the Wii U. I never thought in a million years that The Wonderful 101 would have an official PC release. And yet here we are. So how does it hold up?
Maybe I’m being biased here but I genuinely believe this is PlatinumGames and Hideki Kamiya’s magnum opus. The combat system is extremely intricate and complex but damn does it feel satisfying to master. This is NOT a cutesey wootsey Pikmin-style adventure game. This is very much an action game that ranks up there with games such as Devil May Cry and Bayonetta (2 other games Hideki Kamiya is responsible for. Go figure.). This is a game that does NOT hold your hand whatsoever nor does it do any spoonfeeding. You’re gonna get punished. You’re gonna get destroyed. You’re gonna get nothing but consolation prizes along the way. You’re probably also gonna get frustrated with the weapon switching gimmick and say the controls are bad and that it should’ve stayed on the Wii U where it belongs.

At first this game can seem very inaccessible due to its abnormal controls and original home on the Wii U. Hopefully this review will clear up some misconceptions as well as highlight, in short, what makes this game so incredible.
TLDR: PLAY THE DEMO, it will give you a basic feel for the gameplay as well as a showcase of the game’s spectacle. Any fan of Bayonetta, DMC and the likes should play this game right now. This game is incredible and my favourite of all time. The controls are responsive (when played with a controller) and the combat is incredibly mechanically deep, combined with an immense level of spectacle through its 20 hr story. It is just Wonderful.

Agent Intercept
For being an expanded port of “just” a mobile game, this one’s great.
My only two complaints are irregular, but severe crashes and the fact that the campaign is rather short.
Though, regarding the latter, Score-Hunters will still have plenty of fun with the arcade mode.

This is a really fun game. It has striking character design, engaging gameplay, and a funky soundtrack. The story and dialogue can be goofy but that’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
Incidentally, I have not encountered any bugs.

Karateka is a 2012 tribute to 1984 game of the same name, made for Apple II and Atari. The premise is simple: evil shogun imprisoned a girl and you need to save it by a series of honor melee fights one-on-one with shogun’s minions.
The game is really short, the run from the start to end takes for about 25-50 minutes usually. And if you want to compare the tribute with the original, well, it’s 50/50%: some say the original is still top-notch and the remake is so-so, and some think that even the original was mediocre, and the remake is only made the concept worse, ‘cause times had changed for 30 years, and you can’t enter the same river as it was before. And you shouldn’t, some would add. Not me, though.

FINAL FANTASY IV: THE AFTER YEARS
It’s the same game as FF4. 17 years later they couldn’t figure out how to advance the story so they just copied the same story and added fan fiction romances to show that time had lapsed. FF4 wasn’t some masterpiece, but it did have some nice plot twists for its time: my brother is the villain, I’m a bad guy and I need to find redemption to be a good guy. This was the 90’s it was cheesy. It was fine. Decades later they pull the same cheesy clichés that have been used a billion times in stories just to remind you of events from the previous game.

I would only recommend this game for people who have a special place in their heart for the original FFIV. And even then… FFIV is in my top 3 of favorite games. It just did something for me. But this game is becoming hard to finish. I’ve worked myself up to the last tale by now, but it’s been a chore. While I don’t regret buying and playing this game, that is out of pure love for FFIV and nothing else. If you buy it, buy it on sale.
Pros:
- It’s amazing to see the old characters back, 17 years after we last saw them. Some storylines are very interesting, and the overall story is solid enough. The story (and stubbornness) is what makes me want to keep playing til the end.

LIBLADE
The game is a nice change of pace. It is the first game for me where you attack with the joystick. The controls took a little getting used to. Especially my aim was not good, but with a little practice it worked.
The visuals of the game and the music are nice.
In the course of the game you can level up and you get new abilities. This makes the gameplay interesting and fun.
Separately, I must praise the developer, because he responded very quickly to a problem of mine. I had rendering problems and he eagerly sat down with me until we found the problem.

This game is freaking phenomenal worth every penny it’s a bit short, but god does it play smooth. The boss’s are challenging and it does one of the best things a video game can do which is make you feel over powered and awesome while challenging you with great mechanics. I cannot recommend this enough do yourself a service and treat yourself to this masterpiece.

Lovely Fox
Oh, Lovely. You walk like an exotic dancer, and you clomp around like one too, making more noise than a Clydesdale as you scamper around the map. But you have those cute little fox feet and when you swim I see those paw pads! So a whole .49 cents USD well spent.
OK, you have an uncanny valley human face, and ginormous boobs, but you are brave. You swim, you run, you fall off of rocks. Controlling you is like steering a tank, but that’s OK. You live in a beautiful world. I have no idea what size you are because you are bigger than some flowers and smaller than others, but I’m pretty sure this game is a meme anyhow.

This review was made based on an Early Access product (v1.4b), so some of these points may not apply to future versions of the game.
Over two years ago, this game popped on up Steam as “Coming Soon”. At the time, Steam didn’t allow much in the way of Mature Content offerings, let alone ones slanted toward “furries”. So I Wishlisted it, but the game never seemed to go live. Today, I found the game showing up in my Wishlist Sales page, “released” just a few weeks ago into Early Access. The reviews didn’t look good, but I had to give it a spin.

Gothic 1 Remake
The Kingdom of Myrtana has been invaded by an implacable horde of orcs.
King Rhobar II, in need of a large quantity of magical ore in order to forge powerful weapons, operates the Khorinis mines with all available prisoners.
To prevent them from escaping, the monarch asks his best magicians to create a magical barrier. But something goes wrong. The magic gets out of control and a mutiny turns the mines into a wild territory now controlled by the most violent prisoners.
The King is forced to negotiate with the new owners, while the tension between the different factions of the mines increases. What no one expects is that the arrival of an unknown prisoner will change absolutely everything.
Features:
-
Faithful full remake of the original Gothic 1
-
Modernized combat system that takes the basic premises of the original combat system to the modern age
-
Return to The Colony, in a full blown remake of the popular and revolutionary game Gothic from 2001. Rediscover the world of the mining colony, its secrets and challenges
-
Play as the Nameless Hero – Manage the fate of a lifetime convicted prisoner who must survive in a world of wild animals, creatures and convicts of dangerous reputation.
Sam & Max Save the World
I thought I smelled that joke coming down the turnpike, burning oil and dragging its muffler.
Sam & Max almost feels like one of those things that’s self-explanatory at this point, but also it’s totally not since point & click adventures aren’t really as mainstream as they used to be. So if you don’t know, Telltale’s Sam & Max games are episodic comedy games that were part of a (mostly successful) attempt to make adventure games more enjoyable for normal people. Sam & Max Season One was also kind of a proof of concept that showed that episodic games were viable. It’s also very funny.

This game is what you need to start playing to experience point and click adventure gaming at its finest. The actual adventure gaming at its finest is Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse. But before you get to that, you must play this and also season 2.
How does it hold up to the original? It’s great! The visuals are improved. They have altered a few things, but the altered things were elements of polish that reflect society’s growing understanding of how to better talk about things and represent people (actually hiring a black actor to play Bosco, for instance). While it initially took a couple of games for the new Bosco voice to find his sea legs, they went back and updated the first couple of episodes so now it practically sounds like the same old Bosco. (And no worries about the original Bosco actor, he’s still Jimmy Two Teeth so he’s still in the game.)

Dungeon Kitty
i bought this game, expecting some casual platforming, instead i found. basically everything is tailored to wreck you kaizo mario world style. fun challenge but honestly cheap in execution and i might just refund this knowing the 1k point achievment is “Virtually” impossbile
Update: i don’t know why i didn’t include this in the original review. but she’s not even a real catgirl she doesn’t have a tail.

I ignored the bad reviews. Didn’t even read them. “They must be exaggerating, a game with a catgirl can’t be a bad game”. But it was. Lesson learned: never buy a game just because there’s an anime girl in it.
