Lockdown Hero

Lockdown Hero

A Collectathon Platformer with Farming mechanics, Lockdown Hero is a 3d platformer where you explore your surroundings, gather materials ,learn skills in order to combat the threat of a virus. Gameplay reminds me of early 2000s platformers and farming/gathering mechanics from games such as stardew valley and animal crossing. The premise of the games is quite simple really collect resources such as alcohol and toilet paper while evading or tackling the virus. The virus itself instantly kills your player as you come in contact with it thus you need to find alcohol which kills the virus. You then manage your supply of Toilet paper and alcohol in order to buy/trade with npcs throughout the map. Npcs may also send you to do tasks that reward you such as with unlockable skills, clothing and resources. Exploration is a must as the city is where you spend most of your time and need to take a boat in order to access the other areas. Controls of this game such as double jumping and dashing feels like any 3d platformer unlocking more of these skills greatly helps your movement ability. All i can say is that Lockdown Hero is an enjoyable game with many things to do and unlockable content justt waiting to be discovered

Pros and Cons

Pros

– Lockdown Hero is a game that feels like a completely new concept and not just a (good) recycled one.

– There are many side quests in this game next to the main quest.

– There is a casino with many mini-games to play where you can earn new equipment.

– You can learn many skills to access new areas.

– The progress system feels fair and is also rewarding.

– The game continues after you have found the cure instead of just rewinding time to before finding the cure.

– The game is one of the most addictive ones I have played in a while.

On rails shooter + good graphics - a bit slow = Narrative experience in futuristic world. Avoid obstacles and collect crystals. Could use more enemies or obstacles to shoot.

Miasma Caves

Miasma Caves

The gameplay of Miasma Caves is very simple: Explore a cave, find treasure, escape alive to sell said treasure in town, repeat.

The Cons:

  • No Automap (for an exploration game this is a huge drawback)

  • Intermediate cave levels are a bottleneck in difficulty (rocks fall, everybody dies faints)

  • Not much of a story

  • A few minor bugs

The Pros:

  • Over 150 different treasure items of 4 different categories

  • Town can be developed

  • A lot of variety in available tools, which allows for different approaches of exploration.

I have played enough Miasma Caves to recommend it. You play a dragon-lady who spelunks a procedurally-generated cave in search of treasure and you’re a pacifist, so that means that you don’t attack any of the monsters inside. But you still can get hurt (such as from cave-ins, and falls, and the titular miasma), and there’s still a challenge in seeing how far you can go whilst getting out alive! It’s a fun game and I recommend it to anyone, especially those who loved Leila “Woofle” Wilson’s soundtrack in Freedom Planet; some of the greatness in that soundtrack is carried over in this game.

Scrap Garden

Scrap Garden

I have recieved this as a gift from steamgifts.com thanks to my friend

! Panama

A cute 3D platformer in which you play as a small robot called Canny.

This is actually a continuation of a free2play game called Scrap Garden The Day Before, you can totaly skip playing the first one if you don’t want to since in the beginning of this game the narrator will tell what mostly happened in the previous title, however I recommand you to play it since its short and worth your time.

So Canny wakes up and finds out that all the robots have been put to sleep since years or even ages and he goes on his journy to figure out what caused this and how can he save the world of robots.

Scrap Garden is an impressive new 3D puzzle-platformer published by Flazm which you can’t help but to immediately fall in love with. Why you may ask? Because the character you play as is absolutely adorable, even though he is essentially a tin-canned robot named Canny. But he is no ordinary robot at all, because he somehow awakened and is now on a mission to find out what happened to his entire world in this post-apocalyptic setting where all other robots of his kind have stopped moving, becoming seized up and frozen in place. What calamity transpired to cause this fate? How did this all suddenly happen? Well it is your goal to uncover the answers to these vexing questions within the game, by collecting crystals and solving puzzles along the way as it gradually reveals its imaginative story to you.

FORZA POLPO!

FORZA POLPO!

I’ve been helping to beta test this and the experience has been an absolute blast, even in its early access state. Great replayability and the controls/mechanics have been well-tuned. It reminds me a lot of the PS1 Jumping Flash series from back in the day. Buying copies for all my friends and family members this season.

Go go Polpo!!!

Real player with 93.5 hrs in game

Forza Polpo is a delightful first-person platformer. Excellent controls and nuanced movement make the varied stages a blast to explore, encouraging you to scour every nook to improve your score. The world is dripping with charm and a striking visual flair making it instantly memorable, and the music is great. There are, of course, comparison to be made with Jumping Flash, but even in its early access state, the mechanics of Forza Polpo are far more refined, and it has enough ideas of its own to stand out as a unique and engaging game in its own right.
