Emanate

Emanate

You awake in limbo with a choice - await your fate, or find an escape. Leap your way to freedom with high speed movement and high-stakes obstacles. Experience Emanate’s atmospheric environment and fast paced soundtrack as you climb your way to the top in this single-level 3D platformer!

Gameplay

Emanate is a single-level, vertical world filled with jumping patterns made up of various platforming mechanics. The most common of which are the orange/red bounce pads, purple wall-jump pads, and the fading platforms, that vanish from under your feet after a very short amount of time. Combining these simple mechanics urges you to keep moving forward, making for some incredibly challenging and intense platforming gameplay.

What to expect

  • Moody, atmospheric environments: Starting from the bedrock of oblivion, up through deep ethereal forests and vast looming clouds, to huge other-worldly cathedrals.

  • Fast, exciting soundtrack: An ambient, break-techno tracklist that increases in speed and intensity as you progress through the game.

  • Emanation orbs: You have three chances per checkpoint to learn the patterns ahead of you. If you fall, expend an orb and you’ll recall back to the last checkpoint you activated. Any misstep after your orbs are gone and you’ll find yourself falling back down below.

only complaint would be that the levels are a bit simple and often rely on misdirection, the camera doesn’t make things much easier nor does the weight of the ball being very heavy

Sphere Game is a very basic Unity rolling ball puzzle game where you must roll a ball around various 3D levels. There’s numerous asset packs and tutorials for making this game, I’m not sure which one the “developer” has flipped to make this, but it’s almost certainly a flip.

This is a very simple game with little serious merit for gamers, being copied/flipped from an asset pack/tutorial. This may be a simple cash grab as the developer sold keys to DailyIndieGame so it could be part of shovelware game bundles.

This game is absolutely stellar. I doubt I will play anything better this year, or perhaps even in years to come.

First and foremost, this game grants the player absolute control over the character. The movement is fast and responsive, and the more you learn about the game, the better you can maneuver, to the point where you can do things you never would have thought possible at first. This sense of control is absolutely wonderful because I can apply both my reflexes and timing as well as my puzzle-solving skills to the level in front of me. The level design features branching paths that allow you to tackle the level many different ways, and give the player a sense of exploration. Will you go the easier and slower path, take more difficult shortcut, or will you look for the perfect jump to create your OWN shortcut? The game also allows you to place your own checkpoints, and unlike They Bleed Pixels, they actually mean it, meaning that you get to tackle the level before you on your own terms without compromising the difficulty.

So close…so very very close. This would have been a GOTY contender for me but it slips and wobbles

hard

I’ll start with the good: Cloudbuilt is basically Sonic Generations. Remember boosting to beat your time and precision, quick twitch platforming within a level that has multiple pathways? It’s here. Maybe the budget isn’t, but the excitement and speed definitely is. As is the creativity, only difference here is levels have more vertical movement and therefore aren’t as fast, but the idea is the same.

The map can be punishing at times, but you usually have a safety net before falling, control might be hard to get but it become really easy once you get it. I love/hate the new mode after finishing the game since it make the game way harder, but its good practice for the achievement

Theres a big con to this game though, on some platform, your poo animation will play but your character will stay at the same place, its still rare, mostly happen on some cloud platform, but still really annoying when it does happen.

My first 2,5 hours of this game were hell. I didn’t know how to do angle jumps and basically got stuck around 20-30%. I kept on trying and trying and finally figured out the technics and got better at it by playing. At the end I finished the game in 6:41:23 with a lot of faceplants (500-1000, didnt check in time and already pressed NG+)

Basically, the plot of the game is aimed at our main character - Matthew Delaney, who was forced to run away from his house, as he was captured by geese, after which our main character decides to go to a new world, but that turns out to be not so simple and just as interesting in adventure plan.

Glyph☀️

Glyph☀️

Glyph is challenging and relaxing platformer. That’s a rare combination to see but in this case it really works well. There are multiple different level themes with their own personal soundtracks to create nice and relaxing atmosphere. Some are darker while others raise you above to clouds.

The learning curve in this game has been balanced well with the levels. At the beginning you feel like you can collect everything quite easily and you get in to nice mood. Then levels get harder but you don’t really notice it that well because you start to be in control of your character and it does what you want it to do.Even harder levels won’t feel impassable because you’re not forced to collect everything and the mechanics are simple to learn. What you need is little creativity to reach harder places.

One of the smoothest platformers I’ve ever played. It can be a bit frustrating when you first are learning, but once you get the hang of it, you literally start to fly. The world is your oyster- er… scarab!

  1. The levels are condensed, short and mostly unique, providing amazing replay value after hundreds of attempts. They’re also in a 3D space, so optimization becomes more of an interesting challenge! (I definitely haven’t played Broken Road 1000 times, what are you talking about)

  2. You can choose the levels you want to play and which ones you don’t, providing relief if a level isn’t your speed.

I enjoyed this game, Definitely worth picking. Awesome soundtrack, incredible feeling of accomplishment when you beat it.

The platforms are so clever positioned that it becomes addicting when you can’t figure it out. Good luck on your journey on your way up.

Hi, I’m the current world record holder (8 minutes) for this game and also the voice actor of Michael the Rat, so pretty much a big deal in the MEGAJUMP community. I admit I struggled a lot in the beginning and also in the end. However, after farming enough OMEGALULs I decided to stop pretending and just jumped up.

I might be a bit biased concerning this product but I will try to give an objective review of this modern masterpiece of a game:

  • it’s good

  • it’s cheap

  • amazing soundtrack

  • very good voice acting
