Street Massacre

Street Massacre

Wow!! This game is fun! ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

Very simple and captivating. The kind that makes you forget the world for a few minutes.

I think the levels are very similar (; - ).

It could have a little more variety.

The price is good | Great game play | Great animations.

Beautiful girls (could there be more varieties of models?)

Prison Girl

Prison Girl

In summary, I can’t recommend Prison Girl, the game has a large variety of problems, but I’ll keep it brief in this paragraph. The game doesn’t carry (or even reference) the story mentioned in the Steam page and in conjunction with that, the game is missing English translations in some dialogues. In addition, the sound quality is overall lackluster, the graphics are distorted and suffer from clipping - including the removal of characters’ clothes. Lastly, the actual gameplay loop is way too long, way too boring, and reoccurs way too often.

Left it on while doing work, thus missed the time period for refund, decide to play it out abit anyway. As a bilingual, I felt like the game is poorly written in both Chinese and English. Basically no audio, trashy sound effects seems to be from other games. The character mod I believe is taken from other games as well. The opening looks legit, the map is quite spacious, seems like it could be a perquisite to a decent game. But after that, it just goes downhill, no benefits of befriending others apart from the guard you met at first. The missions gets very grindy, fustrating and boring very fast. I had to alter some game values to see what happens next, to my disappointment, there are no further missions and yes, she didn’t escape at the end.

The Break-In

The Break-In

The Break-In is a 1-4 player, VR and non VR, co-op burglary game about sneaking in, taking everything, and then sneaking out. Infiltrate houses, bank vaults and museums to earn money and upgrade your thief gear. Take on special contracts to extract high-value items from dangerous locations and go from petty burglar to high-tech agent of stealth.

Multiplayer allows for a range of different roles and play-styles, from leading communications from your van to being the first to the break-in from the roof, opening the route for your team.

  • Wide range of gadgets: Equip yourself with items ranging from old ladders to high-power grapple guns.

  • Natural climbing system: Clamber up drainpipes, squeeze through windows, or make your way to the roof and enter through the chimney santa-style.

  • 1-4 player co-op: Bring your friends along for extra pairs of thieving hands. Just make sure they’re quiet, or they’ll alert the residents.

  • Randomised level generation:. Hit a brand new house each time you play, so you’ll always have to be on your toes.

  • VR / non-VR crossplay: VR adds an extra layer of immersion, but you can play fully without it too! Cross-play allows you to play alongside VR players, even in flatscreen mode.

Timothy vs the Aliens

Timothy vs the Aliens

Positives: Overall, it’s a recommendation for those looking for different kind of open world 3D platformer. It’s not often we get actual noire visuals and it looks fantastic and plays well too. Lots to explore, you can get into sewers and rooftops, and even access a few buildings. Great music too. Combat gets the job done. Nothing spectacular, but still fun.

Negatives: Not much options for customization. You can use a controller or m/kb option, and both control well, but there’s no custom button layout. So you’re stuck with what they give. It works, and there’s no issue with the controller layout, but the kb/m layout is a little confusing at first. The biggest thing being that they made the reload button Q instead of R. You get used to it, but it’s an odd choice to say the least. Also, once you’re done with the game, it seems like that’s it. It doesn’t let you go back and mop up missing collectibles/achievements. Oh well.

The game is very short, and has a few frame rate issues, but overall was enjoyable. Something about it’s style and feel during game play is just appealing.

Surely worth picking it up on sale, though based off the few reviews there are, I just wanted to pay full price for the devs. You can find stuff about this game and massive changes it has gone under since at least 2016, when it was isometric. I appreciate the effort that went into this.

Boodunnit

Boodunnit

Boodunnit, what to say that hasn’t already been said?

Graphics/Art 10/10

Gameplay 5/10

Controls 3/10

This is a really cute game but it is kinda hard to love. Boodunnit has a nice premise and nice mechanics but it feels like it’s incomplete. Sure, it’s a free game and I shouldn’t be harking on it too hard but I have to. I would gladly pay a few dollars to support the devs and help make Boodunnit better.

Camera and Levitation issues have been talked to death so I won’t talk too much about it. However, I feel that most of the issues talked about by people could be alleviated by simply putting the control of levitation on the arrow keys instead of the mouse. That way, you wouldn’t be spinning your mouse around trying to see and control an abject at the same time. Furthermore, it would allow for more control over levitating object which would be nice. Wonder why the Play Testers didn’t say anything. With a group that big, certainly a few of them, if not all of them, would’ve found the controls as frustrating as 90% of the player base does.

The overall art style and aesthetic of the game is gorgeous, the story line is intriguing and kept me interested so that alone would make me recommend.

However, the controls are sometimes frustrating especially when you play as either the rat or pigeon. Moving items is difficult as you have no way of knowing where they are being placed or how you can move them smoothly, you are still able to move stuff and complete the game just with a little difficulty. The camera was also awkward to move at times and did have the tendencies of giving me motion sickness with how janky the movements were.

Agent X

Agent X

positives - graphics are visually appealing and weapons feel fun to shoot,

negatives - enemies are brain dead, you have to be close to them to garner any reaction, but you can kill most enemies from afar and none of the ai will react. the last level achievement is currently bugged, and I’m fairly certain they advertised 100 achievements, but the game only has give in total right now, not sure if those will come later we’ll see

I know the game advertises being a short 10-15 minute experience, but I’ve played short but fun games before. They can be fun and filled with replayibility if done right. This isn’t it unfortunately. If the dev makes updates to the game and improves anything, I’ll recommend it. One last thing, it irks that there’s no shotgun in the game. If there was a pleasant shotgun experience, I might enjoy the game as is.

The game is too short, but it was good, could use some work on the collisions, but again fun.

Doorways: Prelude

Doorways: Prelude

I actually played most of this some years back - in fact, it was one of the very first games I ever played on Steam! - but alas, my laptop back then was a steaming great pile of doggy-doo, and the lag I experienced ultimately meant that I had to throw in the towel and wait for a better computer. Well, I’ve now owned that better computer for well over a year, so I guess the time taken to get BACK to this game doesn’t quite suggest that I found it all that “compelling” the first time around.

Coming back to it though, I gotta say, it actually stacks up EXTREMELY well next to a lot of the cheap, “indie” horror games which have come out since. It’s maybe never quite “inspired”, but Doorways: Prelude is consistently solid. Very solid. BRICK solid. Almost the textbook definition of “solid”.

Doorways: Prelude is the first installment in a trilogy of dark, atmospheric horror puzzle games. You are Thomas Foster, an agent employed by Doorways; a company that tracks down serial killers, investigates their murders, and attempts to eliminate them if possible. This initial release by publisher/developer Saibot Studios contains the first two chapters of the series, and they cover both the Professor and the Sculptor; two equally as demonic serial killers that have left long trails of dead bodies in their wake. You’ll be left to explore haunting, foreboding locations such as a giant castle, a basement-turned-torture-chamber, and a massive museum.
