Lion Quest Infinity

Lion Quest Infinity

I liked it, especially the soundtrack. Dont know what is going on at times, and had to google some of what the characters were talking about, but the platforming is the best in the series now that its 3d, especially the levels that change shape and move around.

A mixture of mario64 and the british office, dry humour and obscure pop culture references

Really is a one of a kind experience, I cannot say I have ever played a game quite like Lion Quest Infinity. Half 3D platformer where you play as a lion, a fox, a sloth… maybe a pig or a panda, who knows, and half text based RPG set in a truly mundane yet worryingly relatable office where you work as a website developer for three completely insane and out of touch bosses. The story is as strange as the games' concept but as it begins to unfold Lion Quest Infinities charm and wit come shining through in full force. The platforming aspects are challenging enough without being frustrating, with clever puzzles and tongue-in-cheek hints from the little animal critters. The office sections are full of hilarious moments and I found myself actually excited to go to work each day to see how the story unfolds.

The Legend Of Vraz

The Legend Of Vraz

A brilliance of proto-Indian gaming scene.

It shows some age around the corners but the academic relevance of this game is unparalleled in terms of bringing Indian mythology into video games. If you are an enthusiast, I’d highly recommend checking it out.

Mage Drops

Mage Drops

A lovely game by a lovely studio. It perfectly squares itself between the relaxation one might find in a title like Mario Golf (with its golf meets magical world premise) and the challenging, precision platforming of titles like Super Meat Boy and Celeste. Really looking forward to the full version!

I got this game to try it out after hearing about it from a stream that I often watch. I can say that this game is really really fun, I love all the mechanics of the game and how you can control the golf ball that has been produced by the wizard and manipulate the environment around you. The game is really well done overall and the platforming aspect of the game is challenging for anyone who loves platforming, however I want to put some of my own feedback down below.

  • So, this is my first bit of feedback because I think it may be potentially important to the growth of the game, when I started the game on controller I ran into a bit of a graphical glitch. I am a controller player, so I am pleased that the game does fully support controller, but the new game option completely covered any of the other options that I was able to choose from. This could be due to me having OBS open at the time since I was getting ready to stream this game at the time, but I do think it is something worth looking into. I currently have not seen the issue since, so I don’t know if this was caused by OBS.

Rad Rodgers - Radical Edition

Rad Rodgers - Radical Edition

STORY: 8/10

Rad Rodgers is at heart an early 90’s platformer made with today’s technology, taking influence from a slew of games, including Apogee classics such as Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure and Commander Keen, and the Amiga classic Ruff’n’Tumble. It centers around the titular character, a young boy named Rad Rodgers (voiced by Hunter Pratt) who one evening after a lengthy session is sent to bed by his mother and immideately afterwards is sucked into his TV and finds not only is his game console Dusty (voiced by Jon St. Jon) alive, but he also has a pretty dirty sense of humor. The game quickly establishes its somewhat adult tone, similar to Conker’s Bad Fur Day. And it makes it obvious that this game isn’t marketed so much to kids as it’s marketed to the people who grew up with these kinds of platformers and are more than old enough to handle foul language. The game does ship with a censor option though to bleep out the dirty words in case you want to spare your kids the worst of it.

Story

Rad is a young boy, from what looks like the year 1991, who goes to sleep and and is magically sucked into his TV to play video games levels with his trusty talking console, Dusty. This arm swinging console is strapped to his back a la Doc Octopus as the two of them are off to save a video game world. There is an intro scene at the beginning and a quick mention of an Elder Tree not returning Dusty’s calls in the First World. That’s the extent of the story and there is no game world explanation other than a mention of a volcano. You won’t get any more story or history about this world until you beat the final boss. I feel it’s a shame because the world is gorgeous. The graphics remind me of the enchanting world created by the Trine trilogy, except with no puzzles. So, if you expect a storyline here, there is almost nothing at all.

STORY

The world has ended and you just died.

Well, your body died.

You managed to upload yourself into The Ark, you’ve built to survive the event.

It will soon turn out, it was a pretty bad idea.

But for now… you awake as a dot.

PUZZLES. WHAT THEY’RE MADE OF?

1. Wrap the dimensions

You live in many spatial dimensions. Use this to your advantage.

2. Impossible connections

Because connections are just the product of your mind.

2. Portals. They break gravity

They can also break your brain. Just kidding, the game is fun, not hard.

3. 4. 5. 6… n

Multi-dimensional boxes, guns, bombs, Amelia, doors, keys, more perspective, etc.

#### ON GAME

I remember the Light is a story driven puzzle game, that explores the idea of living in different spatial dimensions, that wrap on each other.

It came from my fascination of imagining what it’s like to live inside the tesseract.

The game is still in mid-early development stage. As a solo dev I have a lot of things on my hands. But I manage :)

Preface

Polite praise.

Before entering the game, I knew that the translation of this game is definitely machine translation, because the Japanese of the announcement was translated into Japanese. And as soon as you enter the game, you are more certain, such as exiting the game, which translates to resignation. But at this time I didn’t know that I would waste 15 minutes of my life just because of this machine.
