JUMANJI: The Curse Returns

JUMANJI: The Curse Returns

Not what I expected being honest, I was envisioning more interactivity such as those in mario party games, it’s not a bad game but it does feel lacking. After playing for around 11 hours roughly I can say I have adapted to the game-play of dragging the corresponding item to either another character or the enemy at hand, it can be somewhat challenging, especially trying to get the save every location achievement which I had to enlist the help of a friend as the Ai was not working out, this is as far as core game-play goes however.

It’s all very interesting and cool and awesome. But not all of it is. Some parts are downright boring. But that’s cool too, because I’m interested. And I like documentries… where people talk and talk and talk …. and then something happens that’s minutely interesting …. and then more talking. Kinda distracts the awesomeness of the visuals. I wish there was a directors cut where they cut out all the voiceovers.

When it comes to VR, I really don’t care about what life would be like 20 years from now… I’d rather immerse myself in the virtual reality of now…. without someone breathing down my neck about 2035 and whether it will fit in with our post-real neo-simplistic social cloud-based pseudo lives that we are already living in.

Very disapointed in myself for buying this. Even at 5 dollars this was a waste of money. Performance issues galor in this thing. After reading multiple reviews about this not working properly I thought to myself Ill download the demo to see if it ran ok on my setup. To my surprise the demo works flawlessly on my setup. So I bought it. Actual game runs terribly after space scene. Even the same scenes that worked good in the demo ran horrendous in full version. Then it stoped at the run down building scene near the end. I love how they made the demo work great but the full version blows. Zero point did a full bait and switch on me. I don’t understand how prerecorded video scenes can be this hard to do. Wish i could get a refund for this garbage.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet. As you see from my over 300 hours of usage that I use this exclusively. I purchased this when it was more expensive and never regretted it. I never got it for the audio aspect although it is impressive. I got it for the 3D movie playback. The MAIN thing that drove my interest is that I did not have to use my controllers at all. I could do everything I wanted with the mouse. Trust me this is way more relaxing. I have had many many email conversations with Aurel the developer about features and getting help. I don’t think it is possible to get someone nicer and more hard working. I have had a number of suggestions that without hesitation were implemented in updates. I know there are more things to come as well so if you are on the fence, get this and you won’t be sorry

The only app that can play non head locked surround sound video with hardware decoded video, i tested it against all other players (deovr, whirligig, big screen etc), only virtual desktop come close (with it’s virtual sound drivers enabled), but still not as good, lots of parameters in VHT that you can adjust to your own like.

Of course the complicated and let’s be honest, rather ugly, GUI is the draw back. I would love the 3D model cinema enviroment (best ones are those in virtual desktop workshop),

This has been the app I have used the most since I bought an oculus quest. I don’t really like the price of the movies that they offer to watch. You end up paying $4.99 to watch a virtual movie that is in 3d. I can’t get into this 3d movie stuff, makes my eyes feel crossed. What I really really enjoyed about Big Screen is the fact I can use their remote desktop and play movies from my giant collection at home. I have been hosting 80’s/90’s movies for people to join and watch since the COVID-19 pandemic started, and have been watching 3-5 movies per week. Sometimes people pop in for a moment to see what is going on and others will stay through most of the movie. People for the most part have been quiet and respectful in the movies. For the ones that come in trolling, there is an option to kick them from the room. After this they can’t rejoin. This is oddly enough a great opportunity to talk to people from around the world using the internet. You can go to the lobby that is set up like a real theater with a snack bar popping popcorn and all the movie theaters to select which movies you want to watch. Here is where several people will congregate and socialize. They just need to add a friends list. I have met some really cool people on here. When you host a theater, they give you several different options on how the theaters look. This ranges from a simple small home theater to a retro style theater. There is even a space station theater where stuff you throw will float because of less gravity. By the way you can throw objects like tomatoes, drinks, and popcorn at stuff. Not bad at all for a free app

I’ve used this app virtually every day, It has become my go-to app for all things movie and video related. I’ve recommended it to friends who have vr headsets, and visitors have seen my personal home theator with the help of this app.

For me what sets this aside from many other apps is the fact that I can lay in bed and watch movies, every other app seems to limit the view for a sitting position…. This sucks for long sessions. The other feature I enjoy is the single handed use. Many others try to force you to use both hands to get around. Let me ask and devs who might be reading this: How many tv’s, dvd players have you purchased that came with 2 remotes each? Perhaps 1 for play, pause, and a second remote for the arrows. With that logic, you’d have 4 remotes for your two devices. On that subject; how many people have you heard say “i wish my tv forced me to use several devices before I could watch netflix on it”?

Unfinished game at the moment. No controller support and forces 2nd player to use same keyboard for remote play together. Even then they cannot pick a 2nd character . Keyboard controls are pretty awful. Will change my review if they fix the issues.

Love the Addams Family, but a party game without solid controller support isn’t much of a party game… very disappointing.

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions

In short - Fully licensed soundtrack gets the hairs up when you getting battered, for sure. Overpriced, but great fun. Its polished. (Yep Eye of the Tiger)

In Summary - Still think launch price is high but More depth than you think as all secondary boxers have some attention with dialogue and story. Playing as Luke O’Grady the limited Irish scrapper is very enjoyable and the over the hill ‘El Tigre’ with debt to the REAL Canon Rocky businessmen Gazzo are particularly good fun.

Legends Rocky, Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago get their due attentions too, so learn that Guard and Dodge button.

## The Alchemist's House

This was one of those rare horror games I actually enjoyed. The artwork is gorgeous, something I don't usually get to say in a horror title, but it takes it's own visual style and runs with it. I don't want to give too much away, but you are taken in by a creepy stranger. The choices you make matter, and make the wrong one, well…

I don't know if it was timing and the game updated, by my first couple of plays the blue light did not speak. Overall, a fun horror title and it's clear a lot of love went into it. Thanks for making such an awesome game, and for free to boot!

Well, this amateur dev certainly did the right thing by releasing her "game"/demo for free. And y'know, as such things go, it really ain't so bad, so I'll quickly get some of the quibbles out of the way…

The footstep sound effects: insanely unatmospheric. The character animation: ugly as sin. The voice acting: subtle as a sledgehammer on a baby's skull. And the writing, well...I'll be kind and not mention that at all.

Oh yeah, and for some strange reason you seem to be about three feet tall. (I don't think I was meant to be a child. Was I meant to be a child?)
