Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles
This is a great game but they really need to fix it, it’s probably the most irritating gutter I’ve played because there are SO MANY input bugs it’s unreal. The connection is terrible I have 3 disconnects and I’ve never disconnected only the game crashing. Secondly the input bugs cause from either the poor connection or just overall bad development. It’s just a bunch of ghost inputs could be not even touching my controller and it’ll start dashing around. Now see this sounds like a bad review for the game but honestly it’s a great game really fun when it’s not messing up BUT they really need to fix those two things.

Eruption爆发
Eruption is a souls-like game on LSD. It’s strange, weird, and gives me Superhot vibes with the meta humor. It’s definitely early access, and feels like very early access, but for what is a $5 game ($4 on sale when I bought it) I honestly kind of like it. Combat is what you’d expect from a souls-like game, and feels fairly weighty, but the hit boxes are a bit jank and it feels like if you swing even a nanosecond sooner than the opponent they still hit you before you hit them. Kind of wack.
Does anyone remember the old PS1 game Jackie Chan Stuntmaster where you’d pick up weapons around the environment? I know I’m dating myself here and there are probably better more timely references, but it feels a little like that. You have your standard swords but you also have things like a mop, keyboard…and a coffee mug. It’s weird.

TWO IMPORTANT THINGS I WISH I KNEW ABOUT AT THE START:
- On the home screen, there is a green button at the bottom called “Starter’s Event”. Clicking that will bring you to a hub that will lead you to your daily logins and objectives to complete. The most important tab is “Path to Greatness”. Completing objectives will lead to more pages of objective and by the end you will have a solid set of characters, weapons, stigmatas and resources. Pressing the yellow “Go!” buttons will bring you directly to the tab you need to complete said objectives. (it could be captain level locked, so just keep running story missions to get exp until it shows up).

A port of a mobile game, with all the jank that comes with it.
The level gating that you start coming across at around level 25 is a constant showstopper annoyance, stretching what would be an actually really good & reasonably length’d bayoneta style game into a weeks-long stretch between said cool content. The controls with the menu are also quite bad with a controler. I wouldn’t even deign to find out how it works with KB/M.
But ya know, I could deal with all that, if I could at least bring my existing lvl56 account into the steam version.

I really love this game I can’t wait for the next chapters.

Whisper Trip is a fast-paced, strategic hack and slash, side scrolling, platformer game with a difficulty spike that comes on too strong in the beginning levels of the game. One thing that should be noted, this game is rough to play on mouse and keyboard. I enjoy the general concept and where the difficulty is trending but combined with wonky controls and physics it makes it a very frustrating experience.
It’s difficult for me to give this a thumbs down, I genuinely enjoyed it and found moments of fun and engaging gameplay and because for some people this may be their cup of tea or might be much more adept out of the gate. I found myself getting stuck on walls or spinning endlessly on top of enemies on a corner and other buggy elements that added to the already frustrating element of gameplay where you can expect to die a lot. Sometimes enemies will randomly fire very fast or not when they have other times. There is also no save menu, so if you start a new game accidentally you will lose all your progress, not ideal if multiple people are playing on the same machine.
