PBA Pro Bowling 2021

PBA Pro Bowling 2021

This game blows. Plain and simple. They are honestly just making these games more and more pay to win. It’s rediculous. Basically just a carbon copy of the last game with a few more novelty factors in it. Don’t waste the $25. Also, the physics SOMEHOW got worse. Developers, you should be fucking ashamed of yourselves. I mean did you even test this? Did you even sit down and see how long it would take to get to some of the higher level balls. Unbelievable.

Hands down this is the best bowling game ive played since PBA tour on Playstation many years ago.

What this game does best is capture the pin physics really well, the ball reactions to the lanes and the subtle reactions to the 12 different oils patterns.

There’s no better feeling than blowing the 5 pin, or tripping up that 7 pin, or rapping the 10 pin down for the crucial strike, or kicking the ball return after leaving that solid cold 8 pin. the game itself is great, challenging and rewarding.

Fastlane Bowling

Fastlane Bowling

Was a huge fan of this game as a kid, as it was called Strike Force Bowling on the console platforms. So I decided to give it a shot for the low price and nostalgia.

Overall the game functions and runs well, even on newer hardware. Though I will not recommend this compared to the other releases that can be found on consoles. Stages are missing. The Wild West stage is one that doesn’t make it here. Also, all characters are unlocked from the start, so nothing really to work for in that regard. The biggest negative here is the missing textures. Many textures just didn’t seem to exist. No little marks for the accuracy and power bars while bowling, and even some of the menu boxes just didn’t exist. Was buying this for nostalgia and simply just became disappointed. If this game somehow figures out the texture issue, this would instantly be a better game, but in the state it is in at this time, it just doesn’t seem worth it. even at the low price point it’s currently at.

HyperBowl

HyperBowl

My first encounter with Hyperbowl was from the Windows XP, with Plus! version, the first time I played the game, I was shocked at how much fun and challenge a simple bowling game could provide! So naturally, I invested my hard earned cash (I was still working for minimum wage at the time), I boy I did not regret it one bit! I invested my monies into a X-Arcade Tankstick with a Trackball in the center, it was a no brainer for me, everyone love playing this game….and then thats when purge happened, this game originally developed by Sony and eventually Hyper Entertainment for Microsoft, would just VANISH and us that still have our original key codes were left with a rather LARGE hole to fill. I sought out the game feverishly, like many other who have played the home and arcade version (my Dave and Busters had it, I was so VERY luck). Several dark years went by where this game was though to be extinct, then literally out of nowhere, this game came back, yes in somewhat different form, but it was the game! I immediately put it back into my collection and Steam, I NEVER want this game to go away again!

This game was so much fun when I was a kid. It really brings me back. There are a few things that I wanna point out that I wish could be added back/changed.

First I wanna talk about the UI.

1. I believe the original Hyperbowl used a different font for the timer, name, first and second ball.

2. I remember a slideshow (if you wanna call it that) on the right side that would cycle between all the possible maps, and a couple of pictures of an arcade.

3. I remember the pause menu being a blue bowling ball.

Pure Bowl VR Bowling

Pure Bowl VR Bowling

I’ve been playing Pure Bowl VR on an Oculus Quest through Virtual Desktop and it works great.

I’ve never been great at bowling in real life, and I’m not very good in Pure Bowl VR either so that’s solid commendation for the game’s accurate bowling physics! Thankfully it offers a bunch of super detailed settings to alter lane setup, assists, and difficulty, so I can set up a game exactly how I want.

The recent update which adds a tournament mode (basically a knockout against progressively more difficult AI opponents) gives a bit more flavour to each game, and the new lane looks fantastic.

Played on Oculus Quest 2 via Virtual Desktop and SteamVR - Works perfectly!

Really quite an interesting concept, controls are good for the most part, took a little getting used to but after a few settings tweaks its borderline perfect. Early access obviously so its sort of barebones but I’m sure more content will be added. Will absolutely be playing more in the near future!

Puzzle Bowling

Puzzle Bowling

Boring puzzle game. It could work out if the game was more smooth and if it had better music. The achievements doesn’t have any explanation either and you have no idea if you have completed the game. This would fit better as a shitty mobile game with ads in every corner. This is the game you would play while waiting for your mom to finish in the bathroom at the mall.

puzzle bowling is a simple bowling-themed sliding game, the only mechanics are stop signs, arrows, and buttons switching arrow direction. while there’s nothing wrong with a simple game if done right, there are several things wrong with this one.

BUY PREMIUM BOWLING INSTEAD !!!!

Avoid, period. It can be used to pass time that is about the only upside.

What I hate, every piece of this game aside that. The lanes do not break down. The career mode while there is content is horrible. A bowler in just the initial league section averaged 148 leading up to our match. He did not leave one open frame in my 5 matches against him (I kept replaying it as I was in shock) rolling a 238,226,231,224, 196 (clean) I finally beat him 236 to 196. I did not shoot under 200 against him. I have never had a pro bowl less than 260 against me. I lost to simo 279-268 just 5 mins ago. I made one bad shot when I dropped my mouse. His tournament average coming in was 218. The pc strikes through the face and by brooklyn over and over in the lower leagues. Liz Johnson ripped off a 5 bagger on me and didnt hit the pocket on either side once. Fix the NFL blitz like difficulty farse (if the pc is down they will just rip a 6,7,8 bagger of or shoot 60 pins above what they have been all tourney, just against you). Ill try to check back in another patch to see if this ever gets there but hopefully I am smart enough to move on. I like what they addressed but this patch is still a big miss and not worth 10 bucks lets alone 20. The graphics are abysmal in places. This is a game for a tablet of phone rather shamelessly whored out to the pc. With the same money in a nice steam sale window you can do so much better. Shame on the PBA for putting their name on this and plugging it hard on TV. I buy a lot of bowling balls and bowl a ton. I had much higher hopes here.

This is a lot of fun and totally worth the $20. The pin physics are actually really good and only ever so slightly “bouncy” on occasion. The controls aren’t deep but they’re definitely challenging enough that being consistent isn’t easy as pie. This does look somewhat like the mobile game but it’s a lot, LOT better. It still has tickets and gold pins for currency though which, even though earned in game, I with they would have converted to $$ to give it a more “realistic” feel. The different oil patterns do bowl differently however, I haven’t noticed any breakdown as I’ve yet to have to transition shots.

AVATARIKA

AVATARIKA

In this game the first thing you do is create your character. I choose to go with the monky look. but you can do many things, the customization in this game is of the charts!! once you create your character, you spawn. I made the mistake of taking off my cloths just to see if I could, only to realize they were immediately deleted. I spent the next hour and a half running around naked in the city. My friend legit got cancer and would most likley die(Rest in Peace) Keep an eye out for Vikra he is a champion in EVERY SINGLE MINI GAME you could play. If you pass him you should kill your self cause you should not be spending that much time in this game.

This game is downright awful the developers didn’t take any concidiration into making this game and its really bad the controlls are awful and the interface is too crowded.

The map could of been designed by a 5 year old and the graphics are just terrible.

Quests are just go here and their and i just hate it its boring and little to no effort was put into it, the creators should be ashamed for what they have created.

If you are a fan of games such as Rocket League and enjoy FPS games (you don’t specifically have to enjoy FPS games) I can recommend you giving this a try.

Before jumping into public games I recommend joining the discord of the game https://discord.com/invite/protoball you can find this link at the bottom of the main menu of the game. There is a Tutorials section that contains guides from experienced players in the game that will teach you things that the tutorial doesn’t get to yet.

Doing the tutorial is also a recommendation but you could encounter a “bug” that isn’t actually a bug.

Protoball,

Oh boy where do I begin here, I’ve been in the arena since the early days of development so I’ve gotta admit I’m a bit biased towards the concept of the game. Given that, it has a high replay-ability and it keeps me coming back to be the best player I can be in the earliest stages of what I see to be a great future competitive eSport. As a person who frequents FPS games like Valorant, CS:GO, Apex and Rocket League, I find this to be of the same repeat-ability and enjoyment to just hop in a game for both fun and competitive play styles. Sure there may be some bugs here and there, but that’s what being a part of the Early Access is for. We’ve gotta smooth out the experience for others to enjoy the underlying game we all love and know can be successful. At this point, I as well as many others are committed to bringing you the best enjoyment out of this game as humanly possible. So join a server and come along for the ride. As for the Dev team, you know I love you guys and I’ll never stop coming back to Protoball, we’re in it for the long haul!
