Half-Life: Alyx - Final Hours
TL;DR: For anyone interested in Half-Life, Valve or game development in general, this is an insightful and inspiring experience that takes great advantage of a compelling storytelling medium.
In the words of Robin Walker, this is “the story of how we fixed Valve”. The reader is privy to the conversations, considerations and concerns of Valve employees as they attempt to shore up instability and quell the anarchy caused by a company “boss free since ‘96”. This storybook provides information on previously unknown projects including story ideas, concept art, script excerpts and development timelines; brief insights into the backgrounds and work lives of various Valve employees as well as anecdotes and conversations; and a greater understanding of Valve’s shift in focus to developing both hardware and software.

Visually it looks good, it’s presented well, and like Half-Life 2: Raising the Bar it’s certainly interesting. But it reflects a flawed product, leaves a ton of stories out (including the flaws), and left me questioning if it justified a pricetag.
Missing pieces:
Reliability issues
There was a push to link the sales of the Valve Index and Half-Life: Alyx but there were a lot of hardware problems, with a critical one being the unreliability of the Index controllers - a problem compounded by poor design choices in Alyx that made playing with one controller far more difficult than it needed to be, along with a badly handled RMA system (and the impact of the pandemic ontop of that bad RMA system). Why would a book on the exact subject of those products leave all of that out, especially if it was written by a journalist?

Tanks in Labyrinth
We played this game with friends and you know it’s very nice. It’s a lot of fun to play it, especially if you get together in a big company.
_Also, which is very pleasing, there is an opportunity to both play on one PC and the possibility of playing in multiplayer.
_The game has a good graphic and sound design.
__Also, importantly, the game is not particularly demanding of system requirements, you can play even on weak PCs.
__The game controls are clear and responsive.
___An interesting solution with random maze generation.

Disjoint
In depth puzzle game with a fun story and cool mechanics. Definitely worth for the experience.

Very fun game, but level 4-10 is unbeatable because a block appears to be missing. It really was very fun up until then, but I can’t give a game a good review if it’s not beatable. I assume it’s beatable on the mobile version, so I recommend you buy it there. The level design was very good, and it introduced mechanics very well. I truly wish I could give this a good recommendation.

The Wolf Is Dead
Detective work is never easy. When the body of Alexander Wolff is found floating down in the pool at a party for the film about his life, there’s only one man (well, Fox) for the job. You were cleared for that whole thing with the gingerbread man, anyway.
You can’t just walk into a mob boss’ house. But the murder got you some breathing room and the Chief has made a deal. You’ve got one night to investigate the house.
It’s a gorgeous mansion. Eighteen rooms. A three-storey fish tank. A garage larger than your entire apartment and a pool overlooking the coast.
And they say crime doesn’t pay.
9 suspects, one evening. What did they do? What secrets are they hiding?
They’re not just gonna tell you, that’s for sure.
Interrogate, cross reference, or just wildly accuse them with no proof. You’re the detective, after all.
You’re going to need an edge and that cool tie isn’t enough.
Thank God they partnered you with Maxwell. His manners are questionable, but he can see all of space and time so it’s easy to forgive the little things.
With the right information and some light encouragement, Max will take you back to the exact moment you’re looking for.
6 Feet Behind
Make monsters clash with each others to win. Cool arcade gameplay with horror aesthetics and 4 distinct campaign (game-modes). But sadly it’s gets old fast.

Fritz Chess 17 Steam Edition
Review for Fritz Chess 17 Steam Edition (english and french)
1. English
With Fritz 17, in addition to the Fritz 17 engine, you get a completely new chess engine that was created with the help of a neural network based on the AlphaZero approach. There are also new exciting functions for creating and practicing opening repertoire. Based on LCZero technology, a neural network was trained with Grand Master games for over a year. The developers named the result Fat Fritz, which, however, needs a very powerful NVidea graphics card to achieve the full game strength.

UPDATED
Changed to positive since, I have to admit, slowly finding out content is there, just hidden behind a really unclear and buggy - for me - interface!
First I have to click “NO” on every prompt it pops up when I launch some of the modules or menus items (at least this is what’s happening on my system…), then it seems, so far, everything runs, their website connection too - playchess - only thing you are logged in as guest with sort of limited privilege, which is fair, tbh.
The Easy Game is what actually it says…easy with limited functionality…Then, if you want to access the full features, you can only via launching a game from the database or running the classic menu and then working from there ( as pointed out by Knusperzwieback in a reply to my review!)

Ironseed 25th Anniversary Edition
Ah Ironseed. A hidden gem of the 90’s. I played this one 25 years ago. A 1MB file hidden among 600 others on a CD. This remake is quite faithful the the original, though the difficulty has now been notably reduced. I haven’t played enough to know if all of the old systems are here, but what I see so far has been quite impressive.
If you are tired of all the “newer” games that put graphics over gameplay, give this one a go.
