Surviv.io - 2D Battle Royale

This game is a fantastic top-down battle-royale that is perfect for newer gamers or those who cant run games with higher graphic requirements. it’s simple to learn, and rewarding to play. The developers have been updating the game constantly, adding tons of free cosmetic skins and other game modes.

The problem is the hackers. This game is absolutely filled with hackers. Almost every game, there is probably a hacker playing. They don’t try to hide it, and with the games Spectator Mode, you can watch it all happen. Hard aim-locking is the most common one, and watching the recoil on high-spread weapons, or my personal favourite, the hard-lock melee attacks, really ruins the game. And its not a rare occurrence; it happens all the time in solo, duo, or group.

This game has a serious problem with hackers and teamers.

I have been playing this game for at least 3-4 years now, and I remember when it was not filled to the brim with hackers and teamers that practically outnumber actual players. But now it’s often difficult to make it through early- and mid-game without being killed by one of the many hackers or by a bullet shower from a pair (or more!) of teamers. And if I do manage to not run into any players belonging to either of those two groups of degenerates, or if I manage to beat the odds and kill them, it is a near-certainty that they will be among the last players remaining in late-game, and I will likely lose to them then. It is very frustrating to spend lots of time playing a game and getting fairly decent at it, make it to the last 3 alive in a match after getting 10 kills (not a ton but a solid match for me at least) only to have the other two players just shoot at me and not at each other at all, killing me. Due to the fact that I encounter a hacker or teamers about every other match at least, and that I usually lose to them, I think I would get about 2X the number of matches where I survive into late game if it were not for the hackers and teamers. And upon making it to late game, I would be able to actually win a fair amount more as well, 25-50% (late game is going to accumulate the highest skilled players, making it more difficult than early and mid once hackers and teamers are out of the equation). While there are many actual legit players that are better than me which does not bother me, it does bother me that so many opportunities to win are stolen by illegitimate players. I would be able to greatly improve my late-game skills and strategy if the hackers and teamers were removed, because this would give me about twice the number of late-game matches.

Temporality

A surprisingly affecting music video describing the memories of dying soldiers in the Great War. Though brief, perhaps a bit too repetitive, a few more scenes would have helped a great deal (you will see the same scenes several times, wait for the fade out and credits to reach the end). Interesting that the composer, Julie Buchanan also did the music for The Other Half. For more about the Great War, listen to Dan Carlin’s Blueprint for Armageddon.

This is a heart wrenching game. Although simplistic in nature, it’s atmosphere really makes you feel for the soldiers and makes you want to rewind over and over in the hopes that the bullet just might miss them. There isn’t any dialogue or character names but you get a feeling that each and everyone of those soldiers has a story and a family that misses them. This reminds me so much of “All Quiet on the Western Front” (Great book and movie, you can get the movie on youtube for free) in which you have a group of friends join up and slowly die one by one. The cut scenes sort of build on the semi-story of your individual character and in a way make you connect with him. I had to rewind time and pause after the final bullet came, I sat there and contemplated what I’d just witnessed. I highly recommend this game.

Comrades and Barons: Solitaire of Bloody 1919

Comrades and Barons: Solitaire of Bloody 1919

Fun Solitaire game with a couple of offbeat game mechanics relating to the story of the gloriously messy situation in the Baltics in the aftermath of the Bolshevik Revolution and the end of the Great War. Unique setting provides for some fun story elements that are integrated into the gaming levels. If you like Solitaire, give it a try. If you like Solitaire with a unique theme, try it as well. If you like to learn more about the Baltic Wars of Independence and the personalities and insane heel-face-heel turns involved, play as well.

5.5/10

I initially snagged Comrades and Barons because 1) I dig playing Solitaire games while I’m listening to music and 2) I dig the Russian Revolution-era aesthetic of the game. The game tells the story of a communist uprising. There are 6 different locations, and each location typically consists of 3-4 battles. Each battle consists of 10 levels, with the exception of perhaps the first introductory battle. Each battle has its own set of objectives you must complete in order to “win,” which might include something like attaining a certain card combo (perhaps removing 7 cards from the board in a row) or flawlessly completing a number of levels (perhaps removing all cards while playing 5 different levels). Unfortunately, there isn’t really a way to seamlessly mesh Solitaire gameplay with fighting a war. Although the cards themselves were thematic and the in-level obstacles were things like barbed wire, the “story” is told through simple in-game text boxes. I read the first few, but it was difficult to maintain interest when I was given no protagonist to follow and was unable to connect my in-game actions to anything war-related.

Geek Fighter

Geek Fighter

The math portion works fine. The quiz portion is awful. If you’re playing this for achievements wait until someone creates a guide, unless you have an urge to learn obscure crap about The Big Bang Theory, Adventure Time and Gravity Falls. If you’re playing it for fun, don’t. I haven’t been through all of the questions and I’ve found 3 in which the correct answer gets you killed and 1 in which the correct answer isn’t one of the options. There are many spelling and grammatical errors just to piss you off a little more. I don’t refund unless I have to, I’ll finish it eventually, but if I could go back in time I wouldn’t buy this joke. Well okay, first I’d kill Hitler, then I’d avoid this junk.

Real player with 9.6 hrs in game

Quite disappointed with the game because the trailer seems interesting and I love to play quiz-related games. Unfortunately, this game is not about general knowledge. The scope of the questions are quite narrow, mostly focus in Big Bang Theory, Gravity Falls and Adventure Time. I feel like being tested whether I know what are the developer’s hobbies and interests. I was expecting general knowledge questions or broader topics. Even if the game supposed to have only geek questions, it should have wider topics than that.

Lords of the Darkreign

Lords of the Darkreign

Fight the Sunless Tide!

The light of the sun has not graced the Karavi lands in two centuries. Blighted by the Darkreign storm, three factions now vie for control of the Karavi throne, willing to slaughter all who oppose them. Meanwhile, the vile branded gnaw at the edges of their territory, ready to usher in an age of darkness that will last forever! Hundreds of lords prepare their hosts for battle, as the winds above roar across the lands!

Take Command!

As a lord of one of the warring realms, you can recruit soldiers to your cause, who will spill their blood to advance your ambitions! For each victory you attain, your prestige grows, allowing you to demand more funds from your throne. But beware, for defeat will dull your position of power, and too many failures will see you dead amongst your soldiers!

Show no mercy!

Your enemies also field lords to advance their plans, both to defend their claims and to expand their territory. Just as lords weaken with each defeat, their realm also fades as their armies shrink in power. Push every advantage, and leave your enemies reeling, unable to defend. Press onwards to their capital city, and claim it as your own to cut off all reinforcements to their remaining forces!

When I Was Young

When I Was Young

One of the best story games I have played. Around the only Vietnam game I have played, It is captures the 1960’s and 1970’s perfectly and doesn’t hold back any punches. It is very hard but once you complete a mission it is very satisfying, the ending is the one downside but even so it is still a very good story. I would recommend.

I honestly loved the game, i completed it literally in 6 hours, and it was wonderful, chapter 9 though, hard, but complete-able, anyway, this project is a very good one, don’t stop please, i would love more chapters, and more variety of weapons, i’d love to shoot an m60 one))

with that being said, great game, nice story, but not enough chapters.

Thanks.
