Shargad: First Blood

Tiny Heroes 2
On the scale of Yuck to Feast, I’d rate this one a “Gruel”
There’s enough stupid-grindy nutrition to survive on here, but after giving it a solid effort, I’d say it’s comprehensively unsatisfying.
Disclaimer - I like these stupid games on the PC instead of my phone for some time-wasting (yeah yeah, Steam community generally hates them), and I’m still hoping Steam will provide a fresh one worth digging into (e.g. Onmyoji, Rot3K (RIP), Forge of Gods (RIP)). I generally don’t care if it’s P2W, and am more interested in whether it’s fun and/or semi-competitive to play for free or on a budget.

Second Edit:
It gets kinda tiring if you are down for hardcore get things done.
But if you are just there bypass time. 10 mins a day, this is a game for you.
never think of making it a game of the day for you. no this is an idler game. only worth 10 mins or less daily for you. or even play it every two days.
Then this game will last awhile for you. I mean a few weeks till you get bored of that dungeon you never clear, even you have all the potions with you, but gears are just very grindy to get unless you spend tons of diamonds to get #pay to win.

Gael’s Quest
A fun little RPG Romp, nice and simple if you’re not in the mood for something complicated.
Problem is, it can be completed in about 3 hours, not really worth the 4 dollars I got it on sale for, and definitely not almost 9 dollars. At a lower price I’d recommend it. I’ve gotten more content from free games.

Features
-
Item Synergy – You need to rely on using items to perform any traditional command-based JRPG battle such as normal attack and skills. If you run out of certain items, you will be unable to perform certain actions. Twist it a bit with Tech Upgrade to come up with difference effects out of the same type of items.
-
Familiar Partner – In this game, you’re alone. But you can choose to have an A.I. Partner traveling with you. In which you can indirectly command it. You can also use cooperate action for a greater damage or ask it to stay in defend stance.
-
Defend Break – You convert half of your receiving damage to your defend command. Which you can unleash it back to your enemy while performing defend (defend quarter damage received). Your limit depends on your DEF value.
-
Guarantee Escape – Escape command in this game is guaranteed to have 100% success rate. You can opt out of battle anytime you desire.
-
Aggressive Ailment – When you use your ailment, it will always have a high success rate at 95%. While if the enemy uses it, the success rate is kept at a lower, default rate. So understanding each ailment, stocking item and using it. At the right enemy and at the right time is also an important aspect of the game. Especially in later area.
-
Difficulty Selection – Aside from Hard Mode is harder. Hard Mode requires a different approach in order to win. Due to certain structures of the game, you can’t rely on what’s work in Normal Mode.
The Last Spell
A fun and addictive game that’s essentially tower defense with elements of party management/rpg, town/resource/strategic management, and enjoyable “rogue-like-lite-whatever” persistent unlocks over time. Maybe even a dash of almost RTS with how worker management flows.
The gameplay loop itself is simple - defend your little “city” against hordes of monsters by night, build/develop base/heroes/etc by day - repeat til you fail or win - earn unlocks to get stronger for the next time - and repeat.

It has been a long while since I enjoyed game this much straight on launch, last game I sank this many hours in on launch was Trails of Cold Steel IV on PS4 launch even if it is ‘just’ early access game right now there already is plenty to play and explore, in the roughly 10 hours so far I already unlocked good chunk of upgrades… And I barely made dent in the actual % of them
There are some weapons that are very obviously superior to others, at least that’s how I feel personally so far, like Spears and Daggers are ridiculously OP if you can grab bit of mana regen or in case of dagger/hand crossbows getting few multihits in, poison dagger toss is strong enough to hold a side on their own for first 4-5 nights which I think is silly (But I don’t say this cause I think it should be nerfed mind you, I actually think it is good thing that there are simply weapons that are better, while other have a nieche they can fulfill, like I personally don’t think Hammer is too good in general, but the aoe stun is good for stalling, it won’t work long term though unless you heavily spec into that kind of playstyle with your hero)

Wulin Chess
