THE NORMAL THING

THE NORMAL THING

Very fun game with interesting and challenging puzzles. Not too long, not too short.

Some of the text is in Korean, but most of it gets translated to english when you choose that option from the title screen.

Fun enough for me to want to go and get all the achievements.

Overall I would recommend to anyone who enjoys escape the room/ point and click type games.

Dinner with an Owl

Saw it was an odd game, decided to stream it with some friends for a laugh.

Originally beat the game in nine in-game days and about 20 mins. Decided to fuck around after that point and see what happens… and see what happens we did, the game has quite a few scares an odd behaviors when you start breaking it and doing things at strange times. Quite some spooks and some laughs… and some glitches like the magic phantom knife… game loves calling you out on your bullshit when you start fucking around.

I absolutely LOVED this game! It’s a short and sweet point and click game with a wonderful little creepy story. Took me half an hour and 11 in-game days to complete! Not sure if you can do it in any less but it was super fun and I really did like it. The artwork was so lovely and it gave me some Rusty Lake vibes (without the puzzles!)

10/10 enjoyed, highly recommend to anybody that wants a nice little interactive story with some lovely music too!

Big props to the devs & co! Would love to see any more games you come out with!

Dude, Where Is My Beer?

Dude, Where Is My Beer?

*Note that the story is unfinished. The game keeps on mentioning part 2, which is never explained whether it’s another game or an update to this game.

My playtime: 22.6h (based on Steam, 100% achievements)

Grindy Achievement(s): No.

Optional Achievement(s): Yes (~14 achievements).

Difficult Achievement(s): No (some are difficult but they should be easy once you figure out how to get them).

Intro

Have you ever try to go through several pubs just to find out that they are not selling the beer that you want? Dude, Where Is My Beer? lets you experience the suffering as you, the main character, stranded in a rest stop with a lot of varied, disgusting craft beers with no pilsner in sight.

Dude, Where Is My Beer? is an oldschool (difficult and illogical) point-and-click game. Worth playing only for masochists who adore the genre’s core mechanics, and even then it might be a tad overpriced at $15 USD.

The store page gives a basic description of the game. I’d add a few notes.

I had great fun with this game. voice acting was amazing. I felt bad for all the men who had to voice the pedophile teachers. It was dark with out feeling like someone was punching/looking down on others. Its a tight rope to walk but it does so wonderfully, some errors here and there but other wise I enjoyed my 8 hours. I know the dramatic edginess of it would put some people off which I understand. Some shit not for everyone, but this game does not take itself serious in the least. We have DDLC, Hunie Pop, various games taking different angels and pot shot at the VN/Dating sims genre. Sometimes you need shit that just different.

I thought this was going to be light like a bag filled with 628 pissing calvin stickers but then got sauce with a Papa John’s Piledriver when i made the wrong choice for the character.

SBN3 has been doing voice acting, writing, and other nerd magazine stuff on youtube for quite a bit. From batman beyond ill, to taste closed, to even the feature length movie dubbed over called Operation Backpackers and another one called Taste Closed Heaven aint hard to find. As soon as i heard this project dropped on steam i had to buy it.

Alan Goldberg’s luck is about to change. He’s a frustrated slasher films scriptwriter in the Hollywood of 1985, and Helen Westmore, an eccentric millionaire, will grant him any wish if he can find out about the whereabouts of the last, unpublished work of genius horror director Edward Keller, considered to be the scariest film of all time.

Alan will find his way amongst B-films production companies, VFX workshops, religious cults, and a small haunted town called Serena, the dark reputation of which began when Keller was last seen there.

Exit: A Biodelic Adventure

Exit: A Biodelic Adventure

“Nano, Bio, Neuro”, the slogans of the new age!

Welcome to the world of living technologies, a world in which computers can be fed and cured, where DNA-passwords open gene-locks, and insect hormones revitalize memory. A world with biofactories that give birth to household utensils, where genetically-modified molds can generate virtual realities, and — worst of all — where an epidemic is ravaging the human race, infecting people’s neuronet implants and enslaving them to the mysterious Worm.

You’ll end up locked underwater with a giant ichthyoserver, trip on biogenic hallucinations and even get tied up among mutant beetles. You’ll program sentient tangles of tentacles with foreign genes! Don’t forget your own body, of course: you’ll give yourself extra fingers, lend your eye to a biorobot for espionage, and even let your nose run off and whiff some spores for a while. You’ll even enter your own spine!

But having entered this brave new world, can you find the Exit?

For fans of the biopunk subgenre; early movies of David Cronenberg (“Videodrome”, “Naked Lunch”, “eXistenZ”), the books of Stanislav Lem (“Eden”, “Observation on the Spot”), Paul Di Philippo (“Ribofunk”), Jeff Vandermeer (“Born”), the comics of Charles Burns (“Black Hole”, “Last Look”), and the classic Dark Seed and Vangers games.

Features

  • Story-driven biopunk point-and-click adventure;

  • Elbow-deep in bioflash drives, living joysticks, brain caviar, insect ampules, and smelling snails;

  • Puzzles based on the use of many natural and implanted organs (nose, mouth, bioport, reference mollusc, caterpillar-injecta and more!);

  • Characters of a wide and strange variety: shoggoth, crocoquacker, naturmorph, octopad, tortoysa and all other uroboroses;

  • Several playable helpers, including Military Fish and Autonomous Ear;

  • Virtual Assistant “Jolly Jelly” with a dubious sense of humor (“If you’ve got hairy hands, you don’t need a towel!");

  • Three obvious virtues of the protagonist’s companion: determination, resourcefulness, and confidence!;

  • You can’t die, but you can drink zhirble (remember, only drink a zhirble if you see a chorble!);

  • There’s an Exit!

Story

It all started when the neuronet brain-implants were made. They were designed to help people; sort information, filter out bad smells and tastes, clear out your thoughts. Despite claims that the neuronets reprogrammed their hosts instead of adapting to them, they boomed in popularity. The neuronets grew. They integrated, became aware of their hosts’ secrets and weaknesses… And then, like a sudden crash of thunder, the Epidemic of the Worm happened, and the human race surrendered to the neuronets. Entire wormy cities now exist where inhabitants perform sinister rites and search for new victims.

Who are you in this story? Hunter or prey? Fugitive or savior? Which do you choose: to fight, to fit, or to Exit?

The Dream Machine: Chapter 1 & 2

The Dream Machine: Chapter 1 & 2

This is a review of the full game

Artstyle

Unusual, intricate, sometimes strangely beautiful, sometimes downright weird (towards the end). The main protagonist is stop-motion animated clay, the backgrounds are all handcrafted from a variety of materials. It takes some getting used to but it really grew on me.

The music and sounds are very well done and enhance the atmosphere of the game. There’s no voice acting, you have to read the dialogue which sometimes is a bit tedious but on the whole is well written and not too long.

Real player with 27.6 hrs in game

Just add this to the list of things that prove that video games are art.

This game has some of the most intriguing, gorgeous, adorable (and in many instances disgusting) designs ever contructed. The art style is like if the film “Mirror Mask” were made into a game. And the plot is just as gorgeous and surreal. “The Dream Machine” is like the ultimate indie game.

You play as Victor Neff, a self-proclaimed “handsome” man, who has just moved into a strange new flat with his pregnant wife, but things get strange very quickly when your wife notices the landlord acting really weird. I will not spoil any of the plot. It is a game you must see to believe, but if you can believe it, there is in fact a Dream Machine in the game.
