Bleeding Sun

Bleeding Sun

In short: A basic story made more interesting by multiple choices which only seem to affect buffs and abilities and the endings of the game. Feels unbalanced in the second half. Not worth full price, but a solid maybe at a 50% off or better sale.

I was gifted a free copy for the purposes of this review, but it will not affect or bias my review in any way.

Bleeding Sun is an interesting game, in the fact that it is sort of a cross between a visual novel and an RPG game. The problem is, it doesn’t seem to know which it wants to be, and it suffers from the split personality more than is enhanced by it.

This is actually a neat RPGmaker game, the english is not the best however the characters, plot and setting are pretty solid.

The gameplay is quite nice aswell it gets away from standard RPGMaker combat with new resource systems for attacks. The game has polish issues but is worth 5 bucks certainly

As a self-proclaimed RPGMaker enthusiast, I can assure you this is one of the classics. This remake posesses a dramatic visual upgrade to the original. This is a title that will keep you second-guessing at every turn.

Loved this game when I first played it in 2012. Glad to see it finally got a spot on steam.

I really wish there was a neutral option, but I’d edge on not really for this. This game seems pretty decently long, but about 4 1/2 hours in, I ran into a bug in the maze dream sequence where there seems to be no option to go forward, the darker colored arrow is in a spot that is inaccessable.

I initially thought it was going to be some take on whale fall communities, but it’s more of a RP of that. Anyways, it’s mostly cinematiic. As for the english, while the translation is pretty good, it’s still weird that the menu stuff wasn’t translated.

ALONE

ALONE

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I just finished making a let’s play of this game, and I enjoyed it so much I had to leave a like. Nice Job DrakeCraft! The game can be both funny and suspenseful and creepy and is just an enjoyable treat. 7/5 pineapples!

alone’s a sweet one with a nice pacing & concept.

however it’s really short in length, which is kinda sad. would’ve loved to play more of it.

still, a solid indie game that was not lacking in overall quality.

just that kevin macleod song I’ve heared too much in my life kinda disrupted my immersion, complete silence would’ve been more fitting in my opinion.

Beer Bar

Beer Bar

This game is so boring because there are no gameplay changes and no gameplay at all.

Real player with 1.0 hrs in game

One of the most mundane games I have ever played, you click on the beer keg, you click on a customer, rinse and repeat. Sometimes the customer will pass out if you give them too much beer, sometimes the cat will get in your way and fuck up the pathfinding. Sometimes you click on the keg and don’t get beer, and sometimes you click on a customer and don’t give them their beer. It’s glitchy, boring, and tedious to 100%.

I’ve gushed about this dev’s uniquely unsettling visual style and atmospheric storytelling before in my Crimson Ranch review, but WOW. Gurobu takes all of that, cranks it up to 100, and slips in a few hidden layers to boot.

I pretty much love everything about this title. The creepy visuals, the disturbing sound effects, the engaging story, the mystery, and most of all; I love that they address the importance of mental health.

Game runs fine, good framerate, didn’t notice any bugs. Highly, highly recommending, especially for indie horror fans.

Blind Girl

Blind Girl

Seriously, screw this crappy game. Horrible controls, you have to navigate a tedious forest maze. But what genuinely annoyed me was that they could really do with a few more savepoints.

! I was at the fairy challenges. I got through the first two and then I reached the Gryphon and accidentally tapped my keyboard when its eyes were open. Game over, I have to start at the first fairy challenge again and renavigate through a bunch of cut and paste forest screens to redo the first two crappy challenges. I might have made another attempt to get the Gryphon feather, IF THE STUPID GAME HAD SAVED AT THE 3RD CHALLENGE.

Rough but cute art style and presentation, intriguing story but all in all not worth the tedious and frustrating puzzles and mini-games with instant game overs. This would have worked way better as a visual novel.

Valcarta: Rise of the Demon

Valcarta: Rise of the Demon

Just like when I played version 1.0, this version of the game is awesome. I had a lot of fun playing it from the new ATB system (with blocking), to how you learn new spells, to the new improved storyline. LIke I said after I played the 1.0 I am hoping for a Valcarta II to pop up sometime in the future.

Now that I finished the Light Path storyline, I just need to work on the Dark Path Storyline…which I’m sure it’s going to be interesting as heck to get through.

Real player with 74.7 hrs in game

I am an RPG maker addict. I just want to get that out there to begin with.

This game is wonderful. The story line……fantastic. A few awkward moments in the dark line, but it just adds to some of the humor. I thoroughly enjoyed the game, the music, the story, the humor, etc. I usually refuse to pay this much for an RPG maker game, but I thought I would take a chance on this one based on some of the other reviews. I don’t regret it one bit.

Next up…..the light path!

EDIT

OK, I’m on the light path. I was worried it would just be the same story on the flip side. It’s not. There are different areas you go to, etc. Again, recommend sooooo much.
