A love letter to Mega Man except much shorter and much, MUCH more forgiving. Unless you’re playing with modifiers to make the game harder for you, you get infinite lives and a fair amount of checkpoints each stage. The game takes 1-2 hours to complete depending on your skill level. (I’m average so I died quite a bit, but not to the point of getting frustrated.)

Since this is a fast-paced platformer, the game “feel” is probably the most important thing here, and GB Rober nails it. The controls feel really good, and the gameplay mechanics, while simple, provide enough variety to keep you entertained.

I really like this game!

I haven’t put a lot of time into it, but so far the enemies and level design feel very fair.

The fact that unlimited lives are on by default really encourages experimenting with your special moves and new weapons, as dying doesn’t really have any consequences: the levels are short so it doesn’t take long to get back to where you were and weapon energy refills on its own.

The roll mechanic is amazing and it feels incredibly rewarding to get a bunch of speed and airtime by jumping off platforms at the right time, skipping huge chunks of the level. This along with the dash makes the game really fun to speedrun (and on that note i do wish there was some sort of timer to keep track of your performance, but it’s not a big deal).

I like the simplicity well executed, I confess it’s not my favorite style of game, but playing with my son is really fun, of course I just lost it.

Mayan Death Robots

Mayan Death Robots

This is one of those games that are very easy to pick up but very hard to put down again.

It combines a Worm’ish vibe with Tetris-like terrain building tactics, and even a little Lemmings (talking about giving a huge salute to the Classics).

The game just lives and breaths the creator’s love of gameplay, indie artwork and good ol' fun-to-play.

Even my ‘only AAA games are cool’ children are super fans.

Mayan Death Robots is a game that just begs to be played on your game evenings with buddies. It’s a world of fun to

Mayan Death Robots is a wonderful game to play with friends/family, it’s a lot of fun and laughing your ass of is pretty much guaranteed! It’s a lot of chaos, but in a good and entertaining way.

From time to time you have to bury the hatchet with your opponent to take on the mighty Mayan gods! Who (sometimes literally) really shake up the game! You can also destroy your opponent’s core in a lot of different and unique ways, and every robot is unique and has a certain playing style.

The game has a lot of character, the sounds/voices, the Mayans, the annoying Spanish mammals, the game play, graphics and let’s not forget about the humor in this game. All the little news reports in the main menu are definitely worth reading! The storyline itself is also really funny.

ArchRobo - Robotic Annihilation

ArchRobo - Robotic Annihilation

Definitely a well made and fun game for the price. Reminds me of some of the old school retro arcade battle games like Robotron with lots of enemies, multiple levels and weapons to collect and use.

Controls are very well coded and super responsive. The game for a small price offers some impressive featurea including the ability to pause or back out of a game at any time and come back later and continue where you left off AND it ofered both a co-op mode with a local friend or up to a 4 player local battle mode! Hell yeah!

Robo’s World: The Zarnok Fortress

Robo’s World: The Zarnok Fortress

Robo’s World: The Zarnok Fortress is yet another low quality retro pixel platformer infesting Steam. In this one, you play a robot or something, but it’s hard to tell because the controls don’t work properly. I couldn’t even use the menu to see if I could get fullscreen going. Could it be because I had a HOTAS plugged in and it assumed it was a gamepad? Irrelevant, because that kind of laziness from the developers isn’t acceptable.

If you can’t get the basics right, you don’t get a thumbs up in your reviews.

Great gameplay, challenging but rewarding. Love the retro platform style, and the sound to accompany it is fantastic. The adventure itself is open-ended, leading to all sorts of paths through the world as you progress towards the ship’s core. I would definitely recommend picking this game up and seeing for yourself. Tons of fun!

Very cool game, I like how you start to get your BOTs to help you and they both have different programmable functions. Also I found the ability to save the functions very useful so that you can just select them when you need them.

All the visuals are very nice, very pretty. And the father-daughter interaction is comical.

Overall I think this is a great game and I hope the full version becomes available soon!

Such an amazing story - there’s so much heart in all of this! And such an authentic telling of a trans woman’s perspective, it’s spoken to me like no other story has. Please, please play this (but play episode 1 first, of course!)

A strong continuation from the previous episode, impressive in all regards.

The art, music and writing are all just as delightful as before. A substantially longer experience, but the pacing and overall direction of the story are very on point despite the increased length. The very tangible character development gives the experience a good sense of substance to it regardless of the actual story progression.

There’s a noticeable amount of typographical errors throughout. Although approximately one per hour of reading isn’t much to mention, they are still noticeable all the same. The introduction of one new character in particular does seem rather abrupt; as it felt like they were not foreshadowed very much in the previous episode, but maybe I’m forgetting such.
