Memories of Fireflies
The game is genuinely creepy. It features a good balance between the run and hide, leaving you on your toes, not knowing what to expect next. The visuals are very pretty and the story interesting!

Blood Drop
“Silent Pill City, Friday October 15, 1999. While Dr. Slaveman is working on an unknown virus in the laboratories of the Parasol Corporation, he accidentally finds himself infected. Blood Drop puts you in the shoes of a drop of tainted blood whose quest is to create an army to take over the world. Zombification seen from the inside!"
Blood Drop is a competitive, speedrun-focused 2D platformer with online leaderboards where only the fastest players can claim to be there. With a nervous gameplay set against a humorous universe, Blood Drop is currently in early access and active development on PC for the moment.
You will have to explore, collect the DNA items to unlock all the levels, and find the fastest paths to the end. A charming organic bestiary awaits you on your quest to zombify the world, and it’s not going to make it any easier for you. Sometimes you will come across small bacteria which will become your allies and which you can control in order to help you accomplish your task.

Elephantasy
This is an utterly charming traversal-based metroidvania!
The world is colorful and interesting, but the surprising thing is how impeccably designed it is. It’s a compact little puzzle of a world, and everything is set perfectly in the right spot.
If the fun of games to you is exploration, asking “how do I get up to that spot?” “that tile looks strange, I wonder if I can do anything with it?"…then this is 100% your game!

This game is very nice and solidly done. It’s a “metroidvania” in the loosest of the sense that doesn’t really focus on action or combat, but instead on simple and engaging platforming puzzles. The item system is interesting in the way that you can access all 4 at the beginning, but only one at a time until you expand your holding capacity, which allows access to areas that require multiple items. The game is very slow-paced, almost too slow at times, but that’s exactly why you can change the game speed rendering it a non-issue (I prefer speed 3). Lastly, the graphics are cute and adorable with nice colors used throughout despite the art being very minimalistic.

In The Shadows
I saw this game at a student developer showing at a college in Montreal some time ago and was very impressed so when I saw it on Steam I had to try it out. The game is very good, the story, design and game play are very well thought out. I am a big fan of unique puzzle games, kind of tired of the same stuff so I look for more original designs and this one fits the bill with a nice light and shadow based game play that adds new concepts as you go through the levels to keep it interesting, even to the point where I would have liked to see even more levels with certain mechanics (like the movement of the sun or the shadow mirroring levels). Given this it must also be noted that there are some issues which I am sure could have been polished with more time. The controls are less responsive than ideal (mainly the jumping), there were some glitches where I had to restart the level as my shadow no longer jumped, the respawn points were often off leaving you in an area that forced a level restart plus a few other minor bugs. None of these really were much of an issue though, so I still really recommend trying it out.

In the Shadows is a little gem of an indie game!
I really enjoyed the pixel art and animation in this puzzle game.
Clearly a lot of time and effort was put into the visual aesthetic and soundtrack and it makes for a very atmospheric experience.
Most puzzles are a joy to figure out, but I did run into 2 or 3 that required too specific a timing and execution to complete for my taste.
Overall however the levels never outstay their welcome, on top of that all of them are nicely varied and beautifully detailed.

Active Mummy
Active Mummy is a “template flip”, that is to say, it’s a “game” that has been produced by copying a game template/filling out forms in GameMaker Studio, changing a few things, then dumping the barely functional “product” on Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. In this case it was a GameMaker Studio template for doing a simple retro platformer game, and they added a basic Egyptian mummy tileset/sprites (probably also ripped off from somewhere).
GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and results in terrible games like this one.
