Sloth Quest
Enjoyed this more than I expected. At first I thought it looked “kinda silly, kinda fun…” I wasn’t wrong but it’s more “lots of silly, lots of fun.” Give innovative “sloth-based” mechanics a go.
Kotaku summed my first impression up well when they said “Sloth Quest looks stupid, but I still wanna play it.” Took a bit to get into it at first (the controls take some getting used to) but it’s been a blast!

Drawing essence from games like Getting Over It, Pogostuck and its namesake Jump King, Pump King puts you in full control of your destiny, and your sanity, with a difficult but fair schmoovement mechanic.
Gameplay:
You wield the incredible power of the shot-leg - like a leg, but a shotgun instead - to blast your way out of an unforgiving and seemingly endless chasm. Or maybe you’ll blast your way deeper into depression, who knows… Whether the shot-leg is a blessing or a curse depends entirely on your wit and execution. Master the mechanics, explore the map, and make your way to the top to become victorious.
- Shoot to jump!
You can walk left and right, but the only way up is to shoot your shot-leg downwards and let the massive recoil blast you away from whatever direction you point it.
- Mind the torque!
The shot-leg blasts you upwards, but it’s not so easy to control. It’ll send you spinning, making it a challenge to line up and time your shots to fly in the direction you’re trying to go.
- Make your shots count!
Your shot-leg has 5 shots in its magazine and can only be reloaded once you’ve landed back on the ground. For many jumps, 5 shots is more than enough, but you’ll want to keep an extra shell or two handy to recover from a mistake. If that sounds too forgiving, don’t worry, some jumps will require surgical and creative use of all 5 shots.
- Keep your cool!
Failing a jump can sometimes be punishing - there is always a chance of falling back to areas you thought you were done with. But don’t fret, this is part of the journey. As you master the way of the shot-leg, you’ll find that challenges which once seemed insurmountable have become a walk in the park.
- Buckshot problem solving!
As you ascend further, you’ll have to apply your shot-leg in creative ways to break through barriers, activate switches, trigger explosive boost jumps, and more!
Webbed
This game is a little gem to have some great time. It’s a 2D puzzle platformer with great physics and great animation.
The physics are the core of gameplay and you manipulate physics through the webs you weave/shoot. Webs do stretch and the more they stretch the greater the force is on them. The game utilize the physical aspect of webs a lot and its so much fun because of it. There are neat details such as webs make guitar string sounds as you walk on them and the pitch of the sounds tied to how long a certain web string is. The longer the string, the lower the pitch and vice versa. You can pester NPCs with your webs if want to as well.

This game is very charming and fun… but a lot of it is flinging yourself off the screen and hoping there’s something to land on/attach to, or firing webs in random directions and hoping it sticks to something. I really wish I could zoom out to see everything within the range of my webshots, but that is actually the only thing I would change. 8/10
