Junk Jack
I quite like this game. Its like terraria or starbound for people with bad computers. Worlds load really fast on default settings.
There are quite a few negatives however or things some might find to be negatives.
1. Only 1 accessory slot and accessories are hard to craft.
2. Pets are only vanity when equiped.
3. Your only allowed 1 defensive potion buff at a time.
4. Its uses minecraft Light level decides spawning instead of Terraria player placed blocks prevent spawing.
5. Every planet feels like they use the same terrain generation on the surface with a different splash of paint

Don’t be discouraged by the negative reviews comparing this game to Terraria. This is actually a very well made game which developers have been updating regularly since the original release of the game on IOS a few years ago. I will, however, give a brief overview of what the gameplay consists of and what you can expect to find as opposed to terraria.

Despite being one of the greatest games of all time and free updates, the price remains at $9.99. There’s no extra payments, no in-game costs, and the game is often on sale. I will always respect the constant amounts of labor and dedication to a game with a modest price, because that shows that what matters to them is the quality and experience.
I believe Terraria was the second game I played on steam, Team Fortress 2 being the first, and after all these years there’s still more things to experience and learn. The team keeps saying that, “This is the final final update,” but that has yet to happen. It will one day, and for that day I am excited; not because Terraria will be complete and the journey’s end, but because the team will get to start a new journey with new possibilities. I know that I’ll be there day one for whatever they do next.

It’s one of those games that make you wish that Steam had a more complex grading system rather than the binary one. Crashlands is a game that reminds many (including myself) of Don’t Starve. In my opinion it is to Don’t Starve, what American remakes are to European original films. It’s goofier and more flashy, but in the process loses the idea of what makes the original so genius.
Gameplay
Crashlands drops you into an alien world, where you need to craft and help the locals to retrieve the packages lost during the crash landing. You have to scavenge and hunt mobs for materials that allow you to craft better gear and challenge harder mobs. It’s actually fun for the first few hours, until you notice, this is it, that’s basically the whole game. Just grind to craft another workstation, another weapon, another armour. It might have been okay as one of the possible activities, but it gets really old when it’s the only activity available. And you have to do it a lot. There are 35 levels of equipment and they increment in twos. This means, the same gameplay loop has to be repeated around 17 times, that’s at least 10 times too many. It’s also possible to ‘domesticate’ pets, until you notice, that it’s basically another part of the crafting system as the domesticated pets create materials which you’ll need to create your weapons and armours with. It doesn’t really help that the design of most of the gear is rather uninspiring. You can have the same sword/axe/helmet/etc. every 2 levels. I mean, it looks different, but the only actual difference is that it deals a bit more damage than the same item of the lower tier and a bit less damage than the item of the next tier. Only the gadgets and devices are a small breath of fresh air, at least some of them offer interesting, new mechanics.

Edge of Space
An exercise in frustration.
TL;DR - Fun for a few hours, but repetitive. The game is abandoned in its unfinished state.
Edge of Space, henceforth as EoS, had a lot of promise going in and is akin to games such as Terraria, Starbound, or Minecraft. In fact, there is crossover content from Terraria within EoS. The base premise is the same as those other games – the player explore (and fight) through various biomes gathering resources to build new items and structures. In that respect, the game does an excellent job of letting the player explore their respective sandbox right out the gate. Unfortunately, at the same time the game plops the player down right into the sandbox without any sense of direction.

This is probably the most enjoyable Early Access Beta I’ve participated in.
The Dev support for this game has been stellar, with all my submitted bug reports and support tickets being responded to within a day at most, and the bugs themselves fixed within a few days. As of the Thanksgiving Patch, I have had no crashes or freezes, but there is also an in-game save option for those of us who get paranoid about beta crashes.
There’s a lot of systems testing and bug-hunting going on at the present stage of development, but there is enough content to really have a blast.

Residual
Fun game, the developer is very communicative with the community about issues, if any as well.
Crashed on a planet and gotta fix your ship, what lurks below…
Your soon to find out!
Give it a go, the game has plenty to offer, has some puzzles to keep you thinking.

Finished my first planet in about 10 hours after figuring everything out and exploring every nook and cranny. Love the game! The platforming/survival combo works great, the art is lovely, and there’s a great sense of exploration as you go deeper and deeper under the surface and the landscape changes around you. The procedural generation does a great job with the map, And I love PedeyP—his comments always make me laugh.
Can’t wait to try new planets—took a little peek already and found a lot of variation in looks/biomes/difficulty. Should be interesting!

Crea
Hi everyone. I’ve been part of the Crea community for a very long time now and I finally got around to updating my review. I’m going to go through the features of the game and talk a little bit about them so you know a little about the game beforehand.
Important Note: Since I wrote this review I’ve become part of the Crea development team. As such I won’t be updating this review further as I feel that being part of the development team would result in a biased review. That said, this review was written at a time when I was not part of the development team. So the original review still stands in its integrity. It is worth noting that many things about the game have changed since the review, so it’s no longer necessarily accurate.

I don’t write a lot of reviews, or a lot of anything, so bear with me.
Crea is a very fun game. Combat, mining, building, and crafting in a 2D world. It’s similar to Terraria, which is what interested me, but far far from a clone. It’s early access, so expect bugs. Luckily, the developer is very active on the forums. He is very helpful, and I’ve personally watched him solve three or four bugs on his twitch stream. I believe he spends hours every day with his stream up, and anyone can come in and inform him of difficulties they’re having. I also think he has promised to release updates every week, however some weekly updates might only be bug fixes.

Dig or Die
I bought this game because, as anybody with eyes can see, it’s very similar (outwardly, at least) to Terraria.
Does it play like Terraria? Well… kind of.
The main thing that drew me to this game is actually, now, one of my biggest complaints with it: the building mechanics.
The building mechanics are terrible. It’s not worth even attempting to build any long-term structures until you have the strongest possible blocks and, even then, if you’re not playing on the Peaceful difficulty there’s every chance that it will be leveled during the night by the waves of enemies that come pouring in.

Overview
Dig Or Die (DoD) is a 2D open-world survival game set in the far future, on an alien planet. Players impersonate employees of Craft&Co., an interplanetary building firm, that became stranded after a spaceship crash. Starting only with a few essential tools, you’ll have to scavenge materials to build a base, craft more advanced technologies and fight the local creatures with the ultimate goal of building a rocket to escape the planet.
🟩 Pros
- Satisfying gameplay that merges sandbox exploration, tower defense and building simulation.

Atrio: The Dark Wild
It’s still very early access but this is a fun game! I was in the mood for a new base-builder game when I found the demo for Atrio. I liked it enough that I bought the game on day one. I’ve sinked a few hours into the game and I am loving it. It’s like Factorio and Don’t Starve had a cute baby.
Right now I’m playing in story mode. I’ve reached the end of chapter 1 (which is as far as the story goes right now), but I’m still building out my base in preparation for when the next chapter comes out. I have almost everything automated and almost everything researched (that’s available right now). Once I’ve done everything I can do in the story mode I’ll switch over to free mode and see if I can take it further.

I love making your own factory and the fact that you can make it longer, shorter, and it works the way you want 100% but 4 parts really bugging me is the bees just stand still and group up for hours unless your blow them up, the chests can be very little and take up alota space, its little but kinda anoying when you have to make 3 blocks touching the water for it to work, and the worst part is the deers wont stop stealing your glowbubs and making poos everywhere its anoying when you cant make them run away but other than that i would love 1-4 players that would be really cool since its simple and fun and you have so many tasks you can help your friends out
