Not an MMO, also could not proceed on my quest. Also why would we want our dog to auto attack for us, could we not just have a basic attack skill?

Laser Maze

Laser Maze

This is a great puzzel game and for $5. The grafics are pleasing and it is easy to control with a great soundtrack to go with it. I highly suggest this game especially if you are new to puzzel games.

As the title suggests, Laser Maze is a game that is all about redirecting laser beams through maze-like areas with the help of mirror devices. I haven’t found all secrets yet but I finished the entire campaign and six bonus puzzles, and I can already say that this game is well worth the price of around 4€ (at the time of release) if you are into 2D laser redirection puzzles.

In the game, you are a maintenance robot on board of a space station and it is your job to figure out what happened to the crew. The robot is steered with WASD or arrow keys and you can aim the laser redirection with the mouse. This mechanic generally works very well. On your path through the station you encounter computer terminals that give you background information and goals to pursue.

You will want two things: your headphones, and to read the game’s manual before playing.

Even then, this isn’t for everyone. If it is for you, you’ll find a hypnotic soundscape worth exploring.

I would describe it as an audio-only walking simulator; there are minimal graphics (as you can see in the screenshots), but you can even turn them off completely and play only by sound. There are waypoints that you can hear, and you can walk from one to the next on a trance-like journey, finding strangely relaxing varied soundscapes. There aren’t many games like this; of those somewhat similar that I played, it reminded me most of Proteus – but the focus on audio is of course much higher here.

Errrrrm, okaym well the ‘game’ does what it says you walk around and noises occur. pressing buttons on the controller did stuff and if I;m honest I have no clue as to what I was doing.

One big thing missing currently for a game that the Visually Impaired can play is Text to Speech in the menus. I dug around with my maginfier in hand and found a list of random settings, but no real accessibility options page.

I got in game and walked around randomly heading towards some sounds. Arrived at a sound and nothing seemed to happen, is this sound a ‘breadcrumb’? it got louder and more annoying as I approached. Found a button on the controller that made a boing noise.

The Doors of Trithius

The Doors of Trithius

the game is in early access. the first world with ~10 dungeons is available. i played threw the game 3 times with different builds and there is a lot to do, to learn and to manage. the first dungeons are already a challenge for new players but its managable. the dev added a save option for now so we can save at any time we want. later the save feature will be reworked to make it bit more challenging. the learning curve in the game feeels very good. the last dungeons are very hard but also managable. for the last dungeons you kinda have to know all mechanics. in the first dungeons you just can hit them with the normal attack and you will be fine. medium dungeons you need to be familiar with the skills and good position. end dungeons you also need to know how medicine and food works. none of these mechanics are to hard to learn. its very intuditive.

The Doors of Trithius is a procedurally-generated roguelike that never plays out the same twice. There are no bonuses maintained across lives; the only benefit you keep with you is your knowledge of the world, its skills, traps, enemies, and items. It’s designed to be challenging, and in my view it does that very well. Plan and prepare well, and you might just survive long enough to find out what secrets are hidden within Moreld’s Tower!

I’ve been lucky enough to have been a beta tester for DoT for the past few months. Over the course of this time, I’ve watched the game grow continuously, from new enemies to entire enemy factions, new weapons and skills to towns and biomes. I know a little of some of the changes that are still coming, but I’m even more excited about the larger systems and world-building that are being kept secret until we’re able to discover them in-game!

i have not finished the game 100% yet but i wanted to at least get through a good portion of it

before i could write my thoughts, and it’s interesting to say the least! there’s a lot going on here. part visual novel. part shooter. part platformer. with some time management in there. i found the story a little bit hard to follow at times but i enjoyed the characters. and the ending definitely left me with a lot of questions. i found the segments with actual gameplay a bit difficult at times, mostly because of controls. but i appreciate what it was going for, especially the shooter portions. the art, which some may not like, was nice to me. the music is also pretty good, particularly the title screen theme. it’s a bit short, but it’s nice! i recommend it if you’re looking for something unique that also happens to be short, but sweet.

This game is one I’ve been excited to see release since I first heard about it. I’ve been involved in testing it before release and I’ve read the whole thing maybe 20-30 times. That being said, I’ll gladly read it again now that it’s out. Times Infinity is perfect in writing, art direction, and gameplay. I sincerely believe this is one of the greatest visual novels if not one of the greatest games ever made. The dialogue is charming and feels more real then some conversations I actually have. The art is all very unique and unlike anything I’ve seen before. The gameplay segments are all fun, and are the perfect change of pace when paired with the visual novel parts. I cannot articulate well how much I love love love this game. uwilmod and everyone else involved have made a masterpiece. I cannot stress this enough, if you like videogames or visual novels or art or fun things you need to play this game NOW

Tree of Mu

Tree of Mu

Tree of Mu is a 2D Procedurally Generated Open-World RPG which takes place in a viking land called Mu on planet Earth. This land was ruled by many kings and destroyed by many wars, but such cycle would not last. One of the kings of Mu, Eric, The Mage, couldn’t live with the fact that his days as a ruler were to end when his people, because of so many deaths and cruel decisions by Eric, gathered in front of the castle to claim his throne, he then shouted to his crowd as a last act of courage: “I will last and conquer this land as long as Mu lives”. Eric then fled and searched for a misterious power on a jorney towards the Tree of Mu, such tree were as big as the land itself and its roots would cover all the continent. Eric sat alongside the tree and whispered misterious words for days… Weeks had passed and Eric would be covered by roots and almost completely swalled by the tree itself. Once the ritual was done, Eric, The Mage, not only had died, he had buried his own soul inside the Tree of Mu, now known as Yggdrasil. As he lived inside Mu’s lifeforce, he could use the power of the four elements, and with such, he enchanted the rivers and that would change all the life that once lived in Mu. Giants, Demons, Goblins… They all came from Eric’s birth of this new world. To protect his creation, Eric raised the largest wall he could possibly raise, a wall made of an unbreakable magic ice, separating the known Earth of this magic and misterious land.

You. Warrior. Mage. Hunter. You will uncover all the misterious and fortunate adventures that are hidden in this land, but be aware, merciless monsters and dangerous animals await you. Good Luck and may the gods be with you.

Animal Gods

Animal Gods

I have no hesitation in recommending this, as long as you don’t expect an epic game with innovative systems. It’s a very solid little game that perhaps makes you think a little, and has graphics and sound to die for,

The Good Stuff:

  • The graphic design is magical. By keeping it crisp and clean, with a unified art-deco style, it gets away with not being especially state-of-the-art.

  • The music is equally magical. Normally I mute sound very quickly, but this game contains a variety of musical themes that are very evocative. (It’s very reminiscent of Zelda games, which meant to be high praise.)

Real player with 25.4 hrs in game

The main reason I checked this game out was because it was compared to Legend of Zelda and JRPGS, both of which are NOT like Animal Gods at all. There are no items to find, nor is there any kind of leveling up.

While the story tries to come off as epic, it is very watered down and unimpactful. You find out nearly the entire story through diary entries, and the only living character in the entire game is Thistle. You also never really find out much about Thistle, so it’s kind of impossible to develop any feelings for this hero or the world around her. When you finally do get to interact with the gods, it is a very superficial meeting that adds nothing to the overall story or enjoyment of the game.
