Block of Rum
(!!!MAJOR REVIEW CHANGE!!!)
So originally, I had said I would not recommend this game, however I also stated that I would change it if my problems with the game were fixed. So, I am happy to say that with the update 0.7.1 (which was the next update after my review) the following problems have been fixed to my satisfaction.
1: Inability to escape from battle (FIXED)
2: Lack of Warning about losing inventory (FIXED)
3: Quest tracking (FIXED)
Sooo, since all my complaints are fixed to my acceptance, I am happy to change my review to RECOMMEND! I left my complaints so you can see what I was upset about. Hope this helps!

I really got hooked on the construction mechanics, i would definetly play for hours building ships if there were more materials and color options for said materials. A few comments on the construction though, i would really like more available visibility while making designs (360° vision). Most of the UI needs fixing (better construction inventory, texts that fit), but i indeed liked where the game is going and the potential it has. I would love to help in the translation if you are planing to doing it also in spanish. counter or markers for needed sails or weight balance would be great. For now, I’ll keep designing ships till i get the perfect one. Good luck and keep on the good work…

Mini ship wars
Lucky me gets to write the first review for Mini ship wars (the developer didn’t bother capitalising each letter in the title).
This isn’t really a game, it’s a ripoff of a GameMaker Studio 2 template/tutorial for making a top down shooter game. It’s complete garbage. GMS is a complete garbage engine, and copying + pasting a template for the engine isn’t suddenly going to generate a video game of any quality. They didn’t even bother making a fullscreen mode.
Why would anyone do such a thing, publish such a terrible non-game on Steam, you ask? Well take a look at the ridiculous $10 USD price tag, and it suddenly becomes clear. This is a nasty cash grab. Then you look at the name of the developer, “Phoenixxx Games”. They’ve pulled this crap before. That’s all they do.

Nice little indiegame. It is a 2d platform-shooter with nice visuals and great handling. It is very short, around 40 minutes, but i had great fun, playing it. The achievements are easy to get.

Nantucket
I bought this game as a fan of adventure games, trading games and turn based combat. I also enjoy games with unique and beautiful artwork. This game did not disappoint me by any means. A big shout out to the store, second video. It has to be one of the best advertisements for a game I’ve ever seen on Steam and definitely encouraged me to buy the game as looked a great adventure! I did not know anything of Moby Dick since before this game but it raised my interest in learning the history behind whaling and also the fiction of Moby Dick (I was on YouTube videos for quite a while, watching some very interesting documentaries!). Another big shout out for the soundtrack in this game, it’s very similar to the second video in the store with sea shanty’s at various points in the game, very unique and enjoyable to listen to, to provide a highly immersive experience.

Sorry, this turned out way longer than I anticipated. TL:DR - It’s good.
Nantucket is a strategy RPG set in the time of whaling – we are searching for the infamous Moby Dick (steam censors that, apparently) of Melville fame, but have to start at the bottom and steadily but surely build up our crew and ship until we have the strength needed to wreak vengeance. Coated in blood and blubber, my ship sails into port, my crew heading to the tavern to spend their violent gains whilst I stock and supply the boat, fix the sails and upgrade the cannons. There is an authentic aesthetic and atmosphere to this game as well as a delightful attention to detail. You’ll get sea shanties galore and for those who are interested in whaling and historical sea-faring, this game offers an insight into a historical period that’s not well explored in gaming. Sure, pirates games are everywhere and I understand why – but the whaling industry was an interesting time where brutal danger and economics merged, which is reflected well whilst playing.

NAVYFIELD
This is the father of all naval games, yes it may be grindy but that’s all MMOs.
Pros:
FANTASTIC ship customization(no custom paints or skins but you can fully customize your weapon load, ammo, etc)
Friendly graphics that are still appeasing but easy on low end PCs
Great sounds/music
Sim-cade gameplay (combines realistic and arcady style of play) You can choose if you want to set your gun angles by ourself instead of the auto aim function, along with things like belt armour, deck armour, etc.
Huge selection of ships in which some can be remodeled into more powerful or different ships of it’s class (ex: The Admiral Hipper CA can be remodeled to Prinz Eugen)
