gems of magic: lost family is supposed to be a match-3 game suitable for kids, yet it has a mandatory move limit, running out fails the level. what were they thinking?
don’t expect much from the narrative, but it’s there, cutscenes and all. basically, you’re a family of fuzzy balls (they remind me of fury of the furries, a classic platformer from 1993), minding your own business, when suddenly your relatives get sucked up by a tornado. a wise bird hands you a bunch of gems, which are supposed to help track them down somehow. what happens is, after every few levels a family member gets rescued.

This is a fantasy-themed match 3 / jigsaw puzzle mashup.
Players that like match 3 blast games, may appreciate a different take on match 3. You are not merely collecting, but also attempting to solve for a pretty pattern.
It has input accessibility and difficulty settings which can make the experience not only accessible, but therapeutic (the easiest setting). This game can be played with keyboard only, or game-pad only (2 button mode supported), or of course with touch or mouse.

Meh. Not very pretty, levels are too long imo, and as this isn’t your typical match-3 game, you never get those satisfying moments where gems keep on falling and making matches. Also, the game freezes for about 0.5-1sec each time the music changes, not sure if it’s really related though.

Gameplay / Story
Similar to the real four-in-a-row game, this game is about creating equal pairs of three in a vertical or horizontal row by moving them. These then dissolve and other signs slip behind. The task is to dissolve diamonds, rubies, sapphires and gold. The more you combine at once, the more opportunities you have to get a bonus. As an example, you get a laser or a bomb that dissolves several stones at once. Your goal is to get to the bottom of the floor to complete the respective level. A help function, represented by an eye, enables you to see where it would make sense to remove the soil. The whole game is accompanied by relaxed music in the background.

Way too short (under 1 hour for all levels), way too bugy (orange symbols don’t match most of the time) and the last achievement won’t unlock. Nope.

Heroic Adventures
This is a ‘Match-3’ game, you need to beat your opponent by constantly eliminating blocks. Different from other ‘Match-3’ games, your skill is not the most important in this game. The most important thing is luck, because the random props are powerful and can help you a lot. If you encounter props many times in one game, you will win easily.
I’ve seen many people give bad comments on this game, but personally, it’s just a tiny little game. Its music is also very good. I think it’s a little pretty good.

“Heroic Adventures” - This is the case when a seemingly ordinary (basically watered down) puzzle game challenges the player (unnecessary) and player understands that victory depends on his attention and reaction and RNG.
Sharpen your sword (not your mind) and go on an (insane) adventure! In order to perpetuate your name in history (leaderboards?), you need to defeat the 1000HP dragon and on the way you will (meet&greet) many other stupid enemies. Enemies have different characteristics (allegedly), so you need to act quickly by collecting combinations of 3 (fist bug) or more identical tiles to attack the enemy. As you progress, your character becomes stronger and learns new (randomly dropping) magic spells: you can turn the enemy into a stone, or make a hoof strike, make a big combo and deal a lot of damage to the enemy! (Sometimes they simply come too late)

Nice and relaxing game with pretty visuals and good audio design. Very addictive.

This is a great take on the classic match 3 game. They really upped the ante by making the player go back and forth between rooms, find a key in one room then go back to a previous room and finish it off. It’s like a puzzle. The focus is not on matching a certain number of a specific color match item but matching stuff in order to get special items to fall off the bottom of the board, which can be difficult at times. Sometimes there are chained tiles that have to be matched first to remove the chains and usually one of the special items is on top of a lot of chained tiles. But thankfully there are magic spells you can buy and one of them removes chains in a certain sized area, which can be upgraded by paying more money. There is also my favorite: the bomb! I used that more than any of the other items you can buy. Some of them I didn’t even bother with. You gain the magic to use the spells by matching 4. Sometimes you get a vial of magic power, sometimes a coin, sometimes an arrow that goes up or across and eliminates all tokens in it’s way.

Cato, the cat
“Cato, the cat” is a casual match 3 game.
The player needs to take care of Cato, a very smart cat, through a match 3 mechanic to prevent Cato from running away. Feed, hydrate and of course play a lot with Cato so he won’t run away.
Play to relax or to get the best scores.
Chains
Chains is a game about linking 3+ bubbles of the same colour. It features 20 puzzles, each different from one another. Rules, objectives, layout change from one puzzle to the next, sometimes even the gravity is modified.
Basically though there are two types: puzzles that make you think a little, and puzzles where you have to act fast. Unfortunately there is much more of the “act fast” ones. When I got this game I thought it will be relaxing & laid-back. It wasn’t most of the time. Chains require focus, reflex and speed, which makes it rather tense experience, stressful even. Hey, I’m old ^^

To start off, I bought this game for 50 cents with a 90 percent off coupon, from its original price of 4.99. That’s a pretty good deal in my opinon at least. I like to think of these types of games as Flash Games, or rather those you can play on the internet for free. Thus meaning I do think the price on this is a bit to high, and 99 cents instead would be quite a great deal.
Compared to a free web game, this game offers the same amount of gamplay, level systems and what not, you finish one you go the next, pretty simple. But that also means that is the only things it offers if you know what I mean.
