I enjoy a game that I can sit down and play with my friends and family. Normally, I tend to be competitive when it comes to games, but when it comes to this game in particular, all I experience is joy and laughter.

The entire game is ridiculously fun and extremely spontaneous. You’ll be playing at normal speed on one round only to find the next round has a super splorch Special that has been waiting for you, filled to the brim with speed boosts and launch arrows.

The game doesn’t end until you choose to end it, which is also a plus.

A cheap Smash Bro’s wanna-be with Atari 2600 graphics. Might be fun for local multipayer, maybe for like 20 mins. Easy to learn how to play.

Achievements are relatively easy to get, I got 80% of them simply by running one game mode(with 7 AI and myself) and letting it run for over 200 rounds.

Has cards.

Recommend this for easy Achievements, and cards.

NOT RECOMMENDED for it being a generally horrible game.

Dashwalk Dueling

Dashwalk Dueling

Dance your sword across the arena while trying to keep your feet on the ground in this fast-paced platform fighter. Its minimal mechanics and visuals are the foundation for complex ground movement, creative combo routes, and fast-flowing combat! Choose from eight supers and reversals to dismantle the competition.

Intricate Combos

Dashwalk Dueling’s combo system lends itself well to 50/50’s and frame traps, although some simple combos still existed throughout, as you carry your opponent across the stage with jab strings. Players will darken when in hitstun to help you to understand combos intuitively, alongside a combo counter that will give you clear feedback on your combos and strings.

Guarding and Parrying

Dashwalk Dueling has a deep guarding and parrying system. Players can hold a guard against their opponent, and at any time during that guard they can dash away, release the guard to parry, or guard poke, to help them to react to an opponent’s option and parry. Guarding on its own does nothing but open up these options, if you are hit while guarding, it is the same as being hit while not guarding.

Grounded Movement

Dashwalk Dueling’s combat is built around grounded movement. When you’re hit offstage or run offstage, you can jump back, otherwise, no jumping is allowed. This encourages spacing heavy grounded play with any airtime being a struggle for your life.

Powerful Training Mode

Dashwalk Dueling’s training mode is built with labbing and competitive play in mind. Features like frame advantage, move frame data, hitbox displays, per frame simulation, an adaptive combo counter, and more are included and togglable.

Two Strikes

Two Strikes

You feel the adrenaline pump though you as you inch closer to your opponent. Testing his defence you make a small swing with your blade and the ring of steel hitting steel fills the air. You leap back but, he presses the attack! A lighting flash from above as the hiss of metal once again masks the sound of footsteps. You realize the next move is a faint a second late as red hot pain fills your entire being. After another leap back you take in your situation. You’re hurt but alive. He smiles at you, takes a step closer and winds up for a powerful swing. you feel a wash of air rush past your neck and head as you lean back and follow through with a powerful swing of your own. suddenly everything is quiet. you take a deep breath as your opponent falls to the ground.

TWOOO STRIKES?!

But the saying goes “Fool me once, strike one, fool me twice, strike three.”

WHERE’S STRIKE TWO? THERE’S NO TWOOOO STRIKES! THIS IS MADNESS! AHAHAHAHAHA

Fast-paced gameplay with spectacular visuals and a breathtaking soundtrack.

It’s very unique as a fighting game too. The meta is derived entirely of psych-outs, counters, and whiff punishes. There’s no okizeme, no combos, no blockstrings, not even crossups. it’s pure grounded neutral. It’s the epitome of simple, yet deep gameplay.

Astro Joust

Astro Joust

Update: I have found people to play with, and its honestly one of the most fun games on Steam. Its leaps and bounds better then the shit you see on this place. Its simple but hits right at the core of fun. The after death effects are almost more fun than trying to win. Its incredibly clever and the art is fantastic. I really hope the creator makes wallpapers available, otherwise if you screenshot the game during play it makes an instant wallpaper thats super beautiful.

While I really enjoyed the prior games by Mutant Entertainment, this one isn’t as enjoyable. I didn’t realize it was just local multiplayer until I got the game. Because of that, and lack of people to play with locally, I have been unable to even play the game until I find someone.

Real player with 2.0 hrs in game

Astro Joust is simple and delightful. If you have an opportunity just to play some local multiplayer games, you really can’t go wrong with this. It’s not the most exciting or has super refined systems, but it’s a charming game and all elements of it are polished.

The perfect party game to play with you friends!

Real player with 5.0 hrs in game

Dispite its simplicity is the game a lot of fun and stays fun for a long time. The Map ideas are great and the character design is just gorgeous. The tiny details about the character just give the game so much life and you can tell that the creators put a lot of effort in it. I can recommend this game for everyone who loves to play with and against friends.

Daily Espada

Daily Espada

Daily Espada is a small gem, a 2D action with gameplay very dynamic and entertaining.

In the game there are many upgrades and extras such as super attacks, new combos etc.

Very beautiful boss battles, in maximum difficulty becomes truly play difficult, but still VERY fun!

In short, a game that does not cost much, and it provides a solid gameplay and fun!

I recommend it, and it’s a shame to see so few reviews, because the game is worth so much!

Slashing Brazilian folklore monsters and bosses, saving the world and making your family rich in the wierdest game show ever? Sign me up. The game is short by my accounts. Graphics are dark and unique, but also can lead to some visual confusion. Not greatness, but fun, short, but enjoyable.

Fantasy Strike

Fantasy Strike

“Fantasy Strike is an easy-to-learn fighting game that you will not be remotely good at.”

What if you could always flawlessly execute every special move input, when you wanted to, every time? Would you dominate your opponent? What if they were similarly skilled? What happens when all the excuses evaporate?

Fantasy Strike is not an easy game. It is incredibly accessible in terms of execution and information given to both players; different coloured hit-sparks conveying frame advantage or disadvantage, flashing warnings when a throw could have been jumped out of and auras conveying a moves invincibility or armour. But every advantage is enjoyed by your opponent also.

Real player with 983.2 hrs in game

There are many, many reasons why you, whether a fighting game expert or a complete newcomer like me, should play Fantasy Strike, but here’s a couple of my favourites.

The game was designed from the ground up with accessible depth in mind. Fighting games are notorious for having a steep learning curve, where you have to spend hours upon hours learning combos in the training room before you can get to the “real game”. This game does away with that execution barrier so you can start actually having fun pretty much immediately. You open up the game, play the tutorial explaining the basic mechanics, watch one of the in-game videos explaining how your character works and how to play them, and you’re good to start playing with other people. There are no complicated button combos to learn, all special moves are a single button press away at any time, so you can focus less on getting your hands to do complex motions quickly and more on trying to read and predict your opponent.
