Sometimes you unexpectedly find a real gem. This game is such a hidden gem. A small, but very polished game that I never heard of before, but understood in seconds and had fun with immediately!

The premise is simple: Kill your opponents, like in Towerfall or Duck Games. You got only one bullet. After shooting it, you have to retrieve it before you can shoot again. The different levels contain death traps, like spikes or lava. Also each character can choose a super ability, like the possibility to kill opponents by jumping on their heads. You also have a few options to select and gamemodes to choose from - and then the fun starts!

Bloody Efforts

Bloody Efforts

Imagine your own mighty Heroes and make them REAL in Bloody Efforts.

Story:

_There were two Ancient Gods - Known and his older brother Unknown. The elder God created a whole world with mighty Elements and the younger one gave this world a life with all forms we know. Unfortunately, there was a conflict between the brothers, which turned into the battle. Clash of the Gods disturbed the world balance and brought many cataclysms upon all the races. The Elements began to fight each other and what is worse, a new ominous being appeared – the Hollow.

Until then, only a fraction of humanity managed to survive. Probably everyone would have been dead a long time ago, but something unexpected happened to the races. A new kind of people appeared, called Apostles. They are significantly different – stronger, faster, but the most remarkable is their ability to subdue power of the Elements. Some of the Apostles fight to restore order and peace once again. Others cooperate in achieving common goals. There are individuals who want to find remnants of the Gods or even get along with the Hollow, devoting their souls in exchange for new horrific powers. And who will you choose to be?_

Game features:

  • Free to Play

  • 2D GaaS Multiplayer Fighting Game

  • Wild fantasy world inspired by oriental culture

  • Quick and dynamic Combats + calm and mindful preparation of Heroes

    and Bands between Matches

  • Many various Team and Solo Modes (competitive as well as chill & fun)

  • Account level-based progression with lots of unlockable Content

More than just a Fighting Game:

Limitless Customization and Challenges

Comprehensive Fighter Builder allows to create awesome unique Heroes (both appearance and playstyle) or imitate already existing pop-culture characters and play them in Bloody Efforts. Playing another match may bring a completely fresh playstyle and tactics from new opponents.

Switch Fighters during the Game

Player needs to strategically choose their Band of 6 Apostles before the Match. Apostles are not equally matched and fit various roles (Warriors, Shooters, Tanks, Mages, Supporters, Assassins etc.). They get serious advantages or suffer disadvantages in different battle scenarios.

Killing is not everything (MOBA-like)

3-phased Modes with various Objectives make an opportunity to think tactically about the next move. Defending the base, setting the trap or outsmarting in Apostle choices can be the key to victory.

ENG

Alright, so you found this game in the Free Games section or maybe you came knowing it’s a new game by mighty XWILKINX. As a person who played the game since its very launch, first on the Web-version, then on the itch.io version, and then here, I’m here to reroute your journey elsewhere, as you most likely won’t find what you’re looking for - a game you can play and enjoy. This review is focused on multiplayer, as IMHO singleplayer is extremely boring.

Let’s start with the positives tho, as game actually sports a couple of them:

–-What you are initially reading was written before 1st prestige, further down (indicated by obvious line) are things added after the initial review and will likely be updated as my play time goes up—

Having played BRAIN/OUT, another 2D shooter very similar to this for countless hours, honestly I think this game is way better than B/O in a lot of ways. This game is what B/O could’ve been had it not been neglected and tried to be every single popular trend in the gaming industry to stay relevant. It really is a shame how B/O ended up in its current and most likely unrecoverable state. But enough of B/O’s current state. Lets look at the positives of WHY this game is B/O but IMO better.

I was gifted this game by my older brother. When I played this game, it was very simple and the developers made it clear that they were nowhere near done with this game. However, it manages to be a really fun and chill game to play with your friends and have a great time with. The way you play this game is a little janky but does get the job done, you have to give your friends remote access through steam in order to play online. The gameplay is focused, tight, and with little bloat. However, certain weapons were much more appealing than others (the sniper gun was way better than the one that shot two bullets,) but there is little doubt in my mind that balancing issues will be ironed out. There is only one map, however the geography does change from round to round, and although I imagine it is a bit small for 4 people, 3 people fit the map pretty well. The 2d art style is cute and simple, your eyes aren’t going to hurt looking at it, and because the game is 2d the load times are virtually instant. Overall I’d rate this game 3.5 out of 5, pretty simple right now, but has the potential to become something I can play for hundreds of hours.

Nurose

Nurose

Nurose is online dueling game where you fight others with custom spells. It has a custom spell building system that allows players create unique attacks. The game has a high focus on gameplay customizability and has a high skill ceiling.

Custom Spells

Central to Nurose is the unique spell building system. Spells are built by visually programming glyphs in a staff. There are 30+ glyphs ranging from simple movement glyphs to complex conditional glyphs. You don’t need to level up to earn new glyphs or staffs. Each glyph is available from the start so everyone is on a even playing field.

The possibilities of this are endless. Some spells that you could make include:

  • Mines that explodes when the enemy is near.

  • A shield made up of projectiles in a semi circle.

  • Anti-missile attack that will look for enemy projectiles and destroy them.

  • Spell that makes decoy clones and moves them in specific directions.

What sets the great players apart are their skill in spell building and mastering their builds. When you have made a build, enter online matchmaking and fight others with your spells.

Online matchmaking

In online matchmaking you will fight others in a 1v1 best of 5 game. Each player has several staffs available. The game is made in a custom engine with rollback netcode for optimal online experience.

Pointless wouldn’t play if it was free

The game makes little sense , most of the time i die after a couple of clicks on random events

i once raided another settelment , got ripped in two

it took me a few minutes of gameplay to even understand that i can click on different houses in the settelment to make changes and hire men

its just not fun for me , it doesn’t cost much so if you want , give it a shoot , i did (still not for me)

Zombardment

Zombardment

To summarize, I really like this game and its style. It does have a few bugs and could use some cosmetic adjustments.

I’ll list the things I liked first.

The game play is simple and intuitive, and the game itself is a style that’s common and easy so anyone can play this game. It hit a certain nostalgia for me for 2 games I haven’t played in a long time that I immensely enjoyed when I was a kid, so that was a nice experience.

I like the more minimal designs of the character and monsters, there’s already a lot going on with you shooting and dodging and explosions and fire so not having a busy or complicated design is really nice, and it really leaves room for my imagination to take over and render the monsters in my own way.

Matcha Warriors

Matcha Warriors

The game has interesting mechanics and the right difficulty level that manage to grab your attention and make you want to keep playing.

There are very satisfying moments when you combo elements and snowball the entire run. But it can also become frustrating when the RNG plays against you.

In the end, its a nice game to play and would benefit a lot from having a coop multiplayer!
