The Vagrant introduces Vivian’s journey in Mystery Island named Mythrilia. This 2016 kickstarter project is heavily inspired from Dragon’s Crown, Oboro Muramasa, and Castlevania X in term of gameplay and art direction.

Some games we play. There can be many reasons. Maybe you like how it looks, you hear good things from many people, or maybe even it’s just a popular game that other people play that you want to too. Then there are games out there that you buy just because it reminds you of something else. That was part of why I decided to pick this up on a whim. I looked at it and gave me the impression it was inspired by games like Dragon’s Crown and Muramasa.
So, the game begins with our main character, Vivian, in possession of a mysterious book belonging to her father. We’re told that she is trying to use this book to locate him and discover what he’s been up to after mysteriously abandoning his family one day. After being interrupted and given a strange message from a mysterious owl creature about obsession leading to madness and tragedy, Vivian and her ship are attacked, leaving her stranded on an unknown land. From there, it is up to her to uncover the mystery all the while dealing with anything and everything getting in her way (intentional or otherwise).

SeaRing
ABOUT SEARING
SeaRing is a 2D indie action-puzzle, putting a devilish twist on its predecessors by flipping the script and making defending the only way to attack. Submerge yourself in a world rich in lore, and be taken on a journey full of colourful and often comical storytelling, as you join the Princess of the Sea in a nostalgic quest to recover her mother’s lost crown, become queen, and restore peace in a world now ruled by fire.
As you leave the Water Kingdom behind to venture into the desert, you’ll meet witty and humorous NPCs, witness astonishing backdrops, and be carried by a soothing soundtrack! Will the Princess conquer her foolish foes OR succumb to the pressure and leave her hopes and dreams to dissipate along with the rest of the desert?
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
So you’re the girl who wants to cross the desert?
Embark on the sea Princess’s journey to retrieve her mother’s lost crown by venturing far from the water and into the uncharted and dangerous realm of fire, a desert where the sun never sets, ruled by the sadistic Saladino and his seven deadly servants. The mission? Accomplish your mother’s last wish and set claim to the sea throne, so that tranquility can return to the kingdom and the moon can once again set a natural pace to the sea’s tide.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
Trust in the power of the Sea Ring.
The twist? You will have no harpoons, tridents, or turtle shells of any colour. You must solely rely on the Sea Ring. The Sea Ring… is a ring… of the sea, and yes, it’s the title of our game! Passed on by generations, you can summon its defensive capabilities to briefly protect you from imminent danger. The best form of attack is to defend, and we push this famous sports philosophy to its limit!
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
Explore a rich world filled with art, music, humour and lore!
Brace yourself for a journey through luscious landscapes and be propelled by an adventurous soundtrack, as you set off to vanquish those who stand in your way, starting with Saladino and his posse of good-for-nothing bandits. Encounter challenging puzzles and puzzling challenges, interact with over 50 (sometimes questionable) NPCs and explore 100s of unique dialogue lines, as you dive deeper into enemy territory. How much you rely on them is up to you - they may help you, share insightful recollections as you study the game’s lore, or cause a slight distraction through hilarity as they derail you from your mission.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
KEY FEATURES
-
You can’t ATTACK?! “How do I kill my enemies then?” Well… you technically don’t. Channel your inner pacifist as you use your Sea Ring to see off any enemy attacks, in true Sea Princess fashion. The Sea Ring can also be used to interact with objects, which will provide usefulness in situations outside of combat (hopefully).
-
So about the NPCs… I guess you don’t have to talk to them but we encourage you to! Some are a bit out there, others actually pretty funny (if you give them the chance to be), and some can be really helpful too, giving you well-needed tips as you explore the lore of this game. With over 50 of them, and 100s of unique dialogue, we’re sure they’ll help you get to your destination! Just don’t pay too much attention to the weird ones…
-
Sea Princess Calls Home: ring ring. ring ring. It’s not everyday that a Sea Princess gets lost in the desert. Actually, this may be the very first time! Whether you may be lost, stuck on a puzzle, or just feeling a little homesick, all you have to do is press ‘C’! Dad and his charm are just an underwater video call away!
-
Illustrious Artwork & Soundtrack: Feast your eyes on this pixel piece of art, and enter a state of musical tranquility with over 10 unique songs from the soundtrack, as SeaRing brings an atmospheric feel that engulfs you in ways you have never experienced before (in other words, our game is really pretty and nice).

4 hr kinetic novel with full Chinese VA (none on 3rd story, “1/30000 Days to Love” though). There are 3 stories, but the first 2 just make one story together. Good writing/narrative, characters, and art. Great soundtrack. Philosophical.

Umihara Kawase BaZooKa!
“Area Battle Action & Crossover Characters! ヽ(=´▽'=)ノ”
[1] Intro
Umihara Kawase BaZooKa! This is an esports anime game produced by Studio Saizensen and published by SUCCESS Corp. As you may know, this publisher also developed a pretty well-made SRPG named the Rondo of Swords. The game characters are based on the Umihara Kawase series and publisher’s other games. The main character designer is Kondo Toshinobu, and this project has been carried on with the name of the protagonist girl called Umihara Kawase. The subtitle BaZooKa represents the core system in the game.

I love the Umihara Kawase series a lot, but I cannot in good faith recommend buying this at 30 dollars.
You can 100% the single-player content in less than 3 hours and I REALLY doubt you’ll be able to find anyone online, like, ever.
A reasonable price for this game would’ve been 10 bucks, at this price it’s pretty much dead on arrival.
As for the gameplay itself, it is nothing to write home about - what you see on the trailer is exactly what you get. The first three worlds of the singleplayer felt trivial, the fourth one can be pretty challenging. Did not get to try online, because there was no one on (shocking I know).

Umihara Kawase Fresh!
Dec 24 EDIT: I’ve decided to change my review to negative. The English patch was finally delivered and it is machine translated crap, completely unlike other versions of this game. What a slap in the face. I still like this game, but I cannot possibly recommend supporting this release.
original review:
about the price:
It is insane. A port of a year-old super niche indie game should absolutely not cost this much.
Worth 20 bucks if you’re a fan of the series, maybe? Hopefully this gets a permanent price cut along with some good discounts, otherwise it’s a REALLY tough sell.

A game I already have somewhat mixed feelings on is simply not fresh on PC, pun probably not intended. Forced 1600x900 resolution (and maybe some weird internal res shit too since it looks blurry even for that), Switch controller icons, the new English translation being bad, it’s missing content from the Switch/PS4 version (Curly Brace and her missions), the controller config menu is broken if you use English, and to top it all off, is way more expensive than the console ports of the game. Play this on Switch/PS4 instead.

2ECONDS TO STΔRLIVHT: My Heart’s Reflection
this is and amazing way to show what some trans or other members of the LGBTQ+ community go through in there lives, i myself am transgender ans slowly giving up hope. but, to some extent i have gone through similar experiences as Hakuno with some level of bullying and hand being afraid of what others think and what they would say about me. i have been brought nearly to tears and felt sick about the bullying but i am very happy that Hakuno was able go through her transition and be much more happy about herself. it gives me some hope that myself and others can be happy someday, i’d say that everyone should play/read what struggles that Hakuno and others go through in their lives.

Loved it!! I’m surprised this game is free with how good this story is! I’m a Youtuber and I played this for my channel. It was such a good story with heartfelt themes, realistic trans representations, and an awesome cast of characters. It’s definitely worth playing for yourself as there are so many choices! There are some frustrating parts like a non-intuitive menu for turning down the sound and a cell phone screen size for the game itself. But that’s not something that should deter you from playing this! I recommend this game fully!
