7th Deep

7th Deep

A simple game with some surprising depth. I t has replayability due to the number of characters you can choose ( 7) and can be combined into any team of 3 or less. There are several save slots and if you find yourself fighting monsters beyond your ability you can teleport back to a location and redo the levels for more experience. If you like this type of game I highly recommend 7th Deep, and you can’t go wrong at this price.

I have only played for a short while, but wanted to pop in and say that I am loving this game. It’s a little different than other RPGs (no blue sky in sight, nor an Inn), and I like the difference. Makes a nice change.

Anyway, I highly recommend this game for those players who want to have fun with an easier to play game.

Additional:

After having played for quite a few hours and experimented with which characters work best, I know now which my 2 favourite characters are. The first one is mad, bad, and dangerous to know, and I love him. :)

DRAGON: A Game About a Dragon

DRAGON: A Game About a Dragon

Dragon: A Story About a Dragon

…is a 2D Platformer. The king has kidnapped your girlfriend to avoid you producing more dragons, and it’s up to you to get up your lazy butt, leave your house and go save her.

⚙ Game Description & Mechanics ⚙

As with most 2D Platformer, you stroll through levels, jumping over obstacles and attacking enemies that are spread across the levels. You have a melee claw attack and a short-range fire breath attack, although you learn alternative short-range attacks such as lightning and acid.

Very mix about this game.

It’s simple, it’s cute, has some quality of humor, controls are decent and responsive (take a little getting used to), and difficult gradually ramps up… but then it has glaring issues.

The final boss has a few bugs/glitches that you will have to expect to get damaged, no matter what. The lighting attacking that goes across the screen from left to right does not stop when you attack the power generator and flashes–it’ll only stop when it’s destroyed. Sometimes the lightning still stop before it goes completely cross or will speed up, all by chance.

Dragon’s Wake

Dragon’s Wake

This is a fun, cute little platformer that I really enjoyed.

What makes the game unique is you play a newly hatched dragon and can flap your wings to jump, glide and kind of fly. Getting around the levels using your limited flight is really tricky, but has a satisfying feeling once you get used to it. You also start with a bite attack and you gain the ability to breathe fire before long. The level design and scripting is very tight and tells a good story with strong characters you’ll care about, without using any dialog.

Key provided by developer/publisher. This does not effect my review.

Dragon’s Wake is a 2D Adventure Platformer where a fledgling dragon hatches into a world in which the extermination of dragons at the hands of a mysterious black knight is already underway.

Comments

  • The most unique thing about this game is the ability to eat almost anything in your path. As you eat certain “special” creatures, you gain power-ups (fire breathing, and ability to fly more) and grow larger (which gives you the ability to stomp and destroy rocks). Also, as you eat enemies, you regain health.

Furries & Scalies & Bears OH MY! 2: Return to Kale Bay

So this game is a ride! One that you realize is going to go crazy about 15 mins. into it. I’ll not spoiler anything, other than to say Its definetly different. I’ve no idea why the author took the story in the direction they did. And it left ALOT of unanswered questions about what happened to everyone from the original game! Questions I was not expecting a sequel to bring up, and all the usual questions you would expect some answers from in a sequel. No Answers given, just unexplained mysteries. This one created alot of loose ends, which i absolutely cant get into cause spoilers! but grrrrrrrrr I so wana ask why what and how now!

Dementia the game! (A Friend bought me this game)

The plot is super confusing and all over the place but none the less sort of all makes sense at the end,.its 4 am so i mean i’m tired as heck but yea it was an overall weird? decent experience or something. Breaks the 4th wall a couple of times and has some humor in their like dragons going to space even though they have wings and can fly.

P.S

Wyatt is a sweet heart best character in the game.

When it comes to Fantasy Visual Novel Dating Sims, I put this up there near the top of the list. The storyline is good, the characters have depth, and there is good emphasis on interaction.

If you looking for a X-Rated Visual Novel, look somewhere else, cause this story does not have that, nor does it need it. This means you are safe to play it without concerns about someone looking over your shoulder at the wrong time ;)

I wish more games like this existed, and am excited to see what the developer comes up with next.

I really enjoyed this game. It was a short sweet “adventure” to another place. There are a few typoes that im sure will be caught and fixed in the next couple of days / weeks (i litteraly bought this on release so it is to be expected.) Other than that i cant think of anything that came off poorly.

On the positive side, all of the characters were interesting. The conversations were believable and managed both to move the story line and flesh out the character you are interacting with. When I finished the game, i was left with the sense that i really had gotten to know a bit of everyone. The only thing that could have made this better was of course MORE!!!!! lol but honestly thats the way I always feel when I’ve finished an enjoyable book of any sort.

A fantastic turn-based RPG experience that came out of nowhere. The game hooked me with its charm and then kept me with its surprisingly well-written dialog and character development. Every character has a clear reason to exist and be with the party throughout the story. There are many twists big and small that kept me glued to this game. I had trouble sleeping for a couple of nights over the course of my playthrough because of my desire to see how the story unfolded.

Like many have mentioned, the combat system has a steep learning curve. I have never played a turn-based RPG that requires such a great of amount of attention, pacing, and strategy as this one. The game starts out easy enough but ramps up the difficulty real quick, to the point where you may have to consult the manual and/or the disccusion forums to figure out how to play better. If you like your games to be challenging, you will probably love this, but if you don’t have enough patience to fail a few times before things click, this might not be for you. I spent four hours on a main story boss (I’m sure everyone who’s played this knows exactly who I’m talking about), but I had a real blast figuring out how to win (It’s worth noting that this boss had been toned down since I played). There is a story-only option that supposedly removes encounters on the way to bosses and makes bosses simpler. I think the story and writing alone makes this game easily worth it, so this is likely a good option for those who get frustrated spending so much time figuring out how to beat a game (though personally I think removing the hardship of the encounters makes the experience less epic).

Before I go further, I’d never heard of this game before seeing it on a friend’s stream and I have to say, it’s one of the best games i’ve played in a while.

Now, to go in depth and please note this is based on playing full on, not the Light mode…

This game is one of those few games that, when you complete the Story, you can’t help but continue to play more and try to do everything, even with this I find myself playing the story again and again, I enjoy the gameplay and story.

The game’s battle mechanics are unusual, but they actually work quite well imo, also having to consider your SP and which attacks are best for the battle at hand adds to the fun, through defending can be hit & miss depending on certain factors, such as your Training, Power Flow build and Whether or not you use a specific Character’s Super Defense. Of course, Replaying does make battles somewhat easier depending, but battles later can still prove somewhat tricky if you’re not careful.

Furry Shakespeare: Oops! All Dragons!

Furry Shakespeare: Oops! All Dragons!

I do so enjoy these quirky little stories! Oh and I totally am not even slightly biased at all about the cast of this one all being dragons ; p

What can I say if you have played any of the games by Stegalosaurus and enjoyed them, this one will bring you more of what you have enjoyed in the past. Humor? Check! Strange unexpected plot twists? Check! The option to take things seriously and try to make the right choices, or say to Hades and blow it all up on purpose? You bet! Opportunities to meddle in other peoples lives and relationships, while pointedly ignoring your own? lol of course! hmmmm here’s a new one, love triangle???? Well some one does mention the idea…. But I havnt found it yet (although the two who “play” brother and sister would really make for an incredibly confusing one! lmao I can see it now….. but yeah that doesnt happen).

Heroes of Book & Paper

Heroes of Book & Paper

HB&P s an old-school RPG game that uses an 80s/90s style of design and concept. Your decisions will determine the ending of each adventure you take. Every story has different and random components. This means that the stories will vary from game to game.

Even though HB&P is an 80s/90s style game, we have taken the liberty of saving you from having to read the boring endless story paragraphs.

Here is how we begin. You, the player, will generate a character from a series of available classes which enters a medieval fantasy world. During the initial launch of the game, three classes will be available: Warrior, Sorcerer and Rogue. In addition to this, there are five more classes to chose from, such as, Paladin, Cleric, Bard and Necromancer.

This world is based on stories, and although in the beginning you will see only four stories available, the goal is to reach fifteen. These stories are completely replayable, since it’s based on player’s decisions, their character, their skills and objects. All of which can be modified. To add to this, all the stories have a procedural component that generates different places, characters, traps, combats, objects, etc. Even if you replay the same story with the same character. You will not play two identical adventures.

The adventures all have a certain level of difficulty, but they can be completed in the order you chose.

The character will be able to level up as he passes stories and earns experience points. So, in the next adventure your character will be stronger. There is no proper level system, so your character will improve the characteristics that you want, to the limit that you desire. This will allow you to configure your character to your liking. For example, it is possible to get a Warrior-Wizard if you manage to obtain enough value in a certain characteristic, and you find the appropriate spells or items.

Although there is a road map, this game is open to any suggestions from the players and the community in hopes of making improvements wherever needed.

As you progress in the game, new characters and stories will be added. The old stories that you have played will also receive new items and options as they appear in the game.

Thank you for reading. - HEROES OF BOOK & PAPER -
